- Join us as we are led on a guided tour through the RMC plant by the companies Chief Operating Officer, Jake Kilcup. We'll see every process on how the track is created, from cutting the sheet metal, to forming the track, to painting it, and even creating the trains.
Thank you SO much to RMC for this amazing opportunity, and a special thanks to Jake for showing us around. You can learn more about RMC by heading to their website at rockymtnconstruction.com

LOL
what an exciting time for employees at RMC. they have become such in high demand in just a few years. every park wants a RMC coaster now. probably a good time for investors in the company too!
Extremely interesting video! :)
COASTER BOT wass good
I can’t reply because my WiFi is awful.
I cant believe texas giants was made just in that little building
Not unlike the fabrication facility for B&M in Ohio. Quite a lot can be done in such a facility.
As someone that's going to college to become a roller coaster engineer I truly enjoyed this
Oh sweet. Where do you want to work?
@@tatesmith4281if he becomes a civil engineer he can become a coaster engineer, it's easy, in RMC maybe not but in european manufacturers they work in groups to design them so he has a lot of opportunities.
@@noway2658 he can works where he wants. To become a roller coaster engineer u have to study civil engineer so if he doesn't end up being that he will be able to work in a lot of diferente places
@@marcgarcia7768 actually you study mechanical... I literally just learned about how they build all of this in a mechanical engineering class last semester
@@dragsterguy21 mechanical engineer? Maybe, but for the structures RMC (alan schilke) works with, u need to know at least a bit of structure knowledge.
I I've been noticed that when designing a roller coaster (not in RMC cause it's 100% alan) civil, mechanical and electric engineers work together.
You should make a documentary about RMC
ikr
well

Wow, Jake is super cool and so laid back. Such a great tour, and I'm so glad America finally has one of the best steel coaster manufacturers in the world
Yeah but....bm...intamin..mack...zierer...gerstlauer...maurer...are from germany and switzerland....
Big shout out to RMC for letting you guys look and film the manufacturing process. Very cool
They have the patent so they can show everything haha
This is a pretty incredible video, it just goes to show how strenuous making even a short coaster really is
*cough* GOLIATH *cough*
RMC is truly magical. We don't deserve these craftsmen
I want one of those RMC sweaters
Made in America. Proud of the workmanship and can stand behind their products.
Let's just take a time to appreciate the effort and time those men put into making 60 seconds of our lives better. They have 2 kind of credits: the usual rider's ones and the builder's legendary credits. Props to them.
It’s really cool to see how they make roller coasters
No kidding!
This is just awesome stuff. It’s amazing to think that for probably 95% of those employees, it’s just a job and a paycheck, but here we are gazing at it as a factory that makes pure magic. So ... any mention of sign of a T-Rex in the works???
StamfordBridge didn't see any T-Rex track on site or in the shop.
Coaster Studios OK, thanks. I take it you didn’t ask.
I lived in Spokane just next door almost to Hayden, ID. So beautiful and awesome in that part of the country. Probably the nicest people you will ever meet on Eastern WA/Northern ID. A lot of people in that part of the country are in trade and industry, and don't really travel as much as people in congested and metropolitan areas, let alone to amusement parks often, accept for maybe silverwood theme park, but that is just a tiny little thing. So that is probably why a lot of people in that area just think of it as a good job, and not as in they are making magic. Although they probably don't realize it but everyone there at RMC are superstars for giving us all amazing roller coasters to ride. :) Thank you wonderful people of Idaho! Haha.
The best track!! Those coasters are so smooth!
Great video. It would be cool to see a part 2 of RMC installing the ride.
This is awesome, and Jake did a fantastic job with the tour and providing the details. Hats off to him and RMC, as well as you, good sir.
THANKS FOR THE FUN FELLAS !!!!!!!😁🤣😂🤟
That was awesome! It's true amazing to be able to see the incredible work they have going into these coasters. I just rode Twisted Timbers last week and will say THANK YOU to all of the crew at RMC!
Great vid. Thanks for posting.
Because you do these interviews and videos so well, I would just love to see if you could get in with B&M sometime!... I'm particularly interested on how their cars and trains are built and all that stuff... it would be very very kind of Walter and Claude to let you in their home Base!
that would be way cool, and I'd hope to one day do that, but I know B&M tends to be a bit tougher to convince to do one of these things with. RMC is pretty open about this kind of thing, but B&M may take some convincing.
B&M doesn't really need publicity, hype, etc...as a long established company. RMC is still a really young company and wants and seeks the good press. RMC by their own statements doesn't think they have "made it". They are" young and hungry. "
Great interview. Love that you can hear him soo clearly👌
this video but every time taylor says “wooow” it speeds up
One of your coolest videos. Must have been an amazing experience to see all this.
thank you! It really was, I'm thrilled they gave me the opportunity to do this!
I absolutely love this video - thank you so much for taking the time to make it.
Super cool. Its amazing to see the raptor being developed
Really interesting, you can really see how the quality comes out of their work.
As a welder this is home, I can smell flux core and 75/25 in the air, smells like money. I’ve always wondered about joint mating and bolt hole line up and the in the field accuracy. This makes my Stecker Pick Out.
This video was awesome love to see how the track is made great job
Thanks for this video. It answered some questions. Great piece.
Great Video! I've fabricated most of my life. This would be a fun place to work! I like how you keep all the work there to control quality!
Really neat video! Loving the diverse content!
Honestly one of the most interesting videos ive ever watched
Fantastic video. Thanks so much for this!
As an engineer and rollercoaster enthusiast this vid was fantastic
Awesome footage
Way more interesting than I was expecting!
Great video dude! It shows everything that I wanted to see
This was awesome
Wow this was very interesting and educational!
Really cool stuff!
Epic video, man.
Really cool to see since my home park is SDC outlaw run is my fav of course
DarthYoda Fred Grubb gave me a piece of Outlaw Run at the end of my visit, it was pretty cool!
Thanks for this, and the other video!
Thats Awsome!!!! it would be nice to also see the design process
Nice to see how RMC is doing with raptor :D
Very cool video. Thanks
Amazing!!!
It's crazy this was before SV. As popular as they were at this point I think SV made them be viewed as something different. I'm sure they have grown a lot since your visit.
RMC is awesome.
That guy was really nice and informative! :D
P.s. I want that RMC jumper so bad... It looks so comfy
Awesome!
Great video
good show , inspiring
I weld a lot of things together so seeing this is pretty cool. I want to get into the welding industry and this doesn't look like a bad job.
CoasterChaos For a coaster enthusiast and a welder, this looks like the best job in the world! (Of course, I don’t know anything about the pay and benefits, etc.)
I want to see some of these guys down at Six Flags Over Georgia soon. Seems very interesting.
Absolutely great video! I am surprised however no one on the tour including the guide wore safety glasses or hard hats. That seems like it should be a must to walk through the door of a facility like that.
Joel Speakman oh gosh who cares
cool vid! was wondering how they check the complex rails shapes so they are within design specs when they have welded all plates together?
By far one of the most interesting interviews and tours you've done. One thing though I think that could improve your videos would be if you got a clip on mic. It was really hard to hear the questions you were asking.
Good video and it seem RMC's next expansion will be putting painting and sand blasting in the same building. The time and effort to move stuff thru the doors hurts efficiency especially as they are going to have to manufacture more and more with the demand for them. They are doing their own stuff and S&S 4D's and Skywarps, which I could see SF cloning to a ton of parks like they dd with superloops. SF also is likely to clone quite a few Raptors. They can increase efficiency with a combined facility and crank out many Raptors(future Trex) per year b/c they don't need RMC crews in the field like conversions.
Absolutley love this thank you so much very helpfully....can you tell me if the rapator similar in sise and style to the railblaizer can be fitted safely with jusy the a lapbar instead of what is currently on railblaizer...becouse the aggressive air time and turns cause the straps to painfully cut in to your shoulders.
It's cool that they do pretty much all of the work for their coasters, making them truly Rocky Mountain *Construction*. Unlike B&M that basically does the design+oversight, and has others make their track and other parts, and contract for construction.
Watching this getting more and more hyped for the rmc documentary. Did you think when making this video that you would be making a full blown documentary?
Great to hear you’re excited for it! Absolutely not, I never imagined that I’d be creating a documentary about them- it’s truly an honor!
RMC #1
I'm excited to ride railblazer.
This is how we roll
I really want to work here when I get older omg
It's funny cause this looks a lot like the place I work at hahaha only we build transformers and not roller coasters unfortunately. Interesting video!
He said that the two raptors are mirrored because both parks had a similar size of land. Which one was the original and which is the mirror?
Jacob Chambers I believe that the layout was pre determined by RMC already. Like it’s a stock layout for cloning purposes. So there really isn’t an original if you look at it that way. The only way to determine which one was original is to find out wether which one is actually the mirror of the stock layout. Actually, Railblazer was mentioned to be the mirror, so Wonder Woman might actually be the pure stock layout.
Jacob Chambers Fiesta got the original. Railblazer is the mirror
I believe you're telling the truth based on your sources, but just last weekend I took a tour of the Wonder Woman site with Jeffrey Seibert, the park president, and he specifically said that Wonder Woman is the mirror of the original design. Did they guys at RMC say WW was the original? If they did, I would believe them first.
Never knew that S&S 4D free spins had RMC track
great vid prob the only one showing how its done.
I have a interview with them Friday!
Working at RMC as a designer would be like my dream job, except for maybe owning my own manufacturing company
So if I wanted to pursue this type of work, what is it called? Engineering of some sort or something else? Thanks!!
Can u do a prediction video for Kennywood 2019 project
Very cool that they let you film this. I think Vekoma wont do that.
Vekoma probably would, B&M on the other hand are tight lipped on production.
michaeł Zell I think both wont ever do that.
Vekoma probably needs people to know that their rides aren't absolute garbage anymore. They'd want the positive publcity.
Happy bday
That's a true American company.
So so jealous. Maybe you can tour the B and M or intimin plants if you go to that part of the world at some point.
Awesome video!
A question I have is I hear that Steel Vengeance and Twisted Timbers will have a new model of RMC trains. What's the difference between those trains and the current ones?
Zachary Potter the old trains had one wheel on the top, bottom, and inside of the rails and the wheel bogies stayed exactly perpendicular to the floor of the car if you were looking from the side. That design is much like old wooden coaster trains. They have to leave a gap between the wheels and the rails to allow the quick changes in direction. That gap gives the car room to bounce around on the track. The new trains have 6 wheels per rail. 2 on top, bottom, and side and the wheel bogies follow the contour of the rail, much like B&Ms trains. With that design, there is no need for gaps in the wheels and rails making little to no extra movement on the rails. That makes an even smoother ride.
Jayke Menges
So they're making an already butter smooth ride smoother? Awesome.
Yeah, pretty much!
Zachary Potter a full interview with Jake will be posted tomorrow and he answers that question!
Wait, RMC is in Hayden? I was just in that are, it is pretty close. I had no idea. What makes this worse is knowing that Silverwood is right next door (I don't go there anymore) and they have no RMC coasters and will probably never get one.
Lit
Since these rails are intended for an S&S ride, could they be headed to the Steel Curtain? The new Kennywood ride, does have some RMC elements.....
Nevermind, After rewatching the video and reading some comments, these are being produced way too early for the KW coaster, and I don't think they may not be the correct type.
Can we question the parking lot coaster?
2:58
Top right corner of the track it says SFFT why didn’t we pick up on that
Any documentaries on six flags magic mountain rides?
Yo get those guys down to SFOG to build the best coaster in the world.
Hi Taylor
That track will Delivered for six flags fiesta texas that will be awesome
Coasterteam 2017 we saw some SFFT track on a truck ready to be shipped out to the park, but I wasn't allowed to film it, but lots of the track in that factory will soon end up at SFFT!
would love to be a cnc operator there even cooler to see they run HAAS which is what i learn on
Do the bm factory next!
Brandon Bombei to my understanding B&M is a bit stricter with allowing visitors
But he does have videos outside of the steel fabrication plant.
Will you get to norcal for those parks anytime soon?
Tech Place he has already.
Does anyone knows if companys like intamin make their own track or that one of their contractors build them?
I just want to ask, did you get lucky or something with a opportunity to do this? Or is it something almost anyone can do?
mscoaster The RMC Plant is private property. You cannot just show up and ask for a tour. It's very rude. You have to have a specific reason for visiting. Not just because you want to take a look around. And even then, there's no guarantee they'd allow you.
Okay, thanks!
Real
Whas that golden lasso peices? I rode that today.
yes it was!
@@CoasterStudios Super cool!
Have you considered doing the clermont steel factory for B&M?
They're pretty strict, so I don't think I'd be allowed to unfortunately. Luckily though I've done one for RMC, MACK Rides, Chance Rides, and Soarin Eagle Zipline!
I enjoy them all, I figured they were strict. Heard that on the KIC forums, love your videos!
Luckily, there are several B&M Plant drive by's that I've done, so you can at least see some of the track there!
Am I the only one who misses the old coaster studios
yes
Hello you are awsome
