Thanks so much for this excellent video. With your step by step help I changed out a damaged seal in number 3 injector in a 2009 Avensis D4D with 290000km. Keep up the great work. I needed to get the tool for pulling out the seal - fantastic tool, I broke a 1/4" drive extension trying to get the seal to twist/move with an easyout before getting the extraction tool
Glad it helped
Merci pour cette réparation filmée 😀👍🏻
Très bonne vidéo,
Je dois le faire sur mon moteur.
I swear that I watch your excellent DIY avensis series and the same fault appears on my 2010 T27. I have just done the number 2 injector seal this morning. Followed your guide and I swear my seal damage was exactly the same as yours (they could be twins). Anyways I just want to say a massive thanks. Next job is the EGR clean.
Hey I'm glad that helped you, and EGR is same easy and worth doing bud, Thank you.
Brilliant videos all round you have helped me so much. I have a valve stem seal that needs replacing that I'm trying to look at whether I can do it or if I should save up to foot the garage labour bill. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
very nice job .. i have a t27 also looks easy but you need the right tools
Yes my friend, Thank you.
Thank you for this good video, thanks to you I now know how the diesel pump works XD
Glad to help
Great videos pls keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Great video and well done!
Thank you very much!
Thanks a lot , all the engines 1adftv maybe 2adftv also have injector problems. I don't know when seals fail but the injectors fail (maybe due to bad diesel)
Also how did you understood that it was leaking? from the Toyota Diagnostic (Techstream) ? or from any smoke coming from behind?..
Also it would be nice if you give more information on how to clean the injectors out cause you can repair most of the parts and you don't need to replace the whole injector (250€ each injector)
Any bother with injector driver edu ?
👍👍
What is the symptoms? how do i know if i need to change ?
Thank you for the interesting video. Please, what is the sign for a bad injector lower copper seal like this shown here ?
Your car will sound like a steam train engine, and if you put your hand over the injectors you will feel puffs of air
@@cardiyrepair thank you again for the info

Hello
Thank you for sharing this video
I have a toyota yaris III D4D year 2013 and evry 3000 km when i check the engine oil level i found a overfilled level 0.5 litres approximately
Is that possible an injector seals are failed?
Hello. I had problems with my RAV4 diesel injectors. If the problem is in this lower copper seal, you will hear a sound of air during injections like a steam train. You can feel it if you put a paper over the injector. However if the oil level is getting higher then it might be the inner parts of the injector that are worn (gaskets, valves, nozzle broken,...) so that diesel is leaking. Subsequently, you'll notice increased fuel consumption rate per 100 km, and you might smell diesel inside the cabin or oil might smell diesel. You can analyse the oil in a specialized lab. The danger in that case is that oil will loose its lubricating properties and a leaking diesel injector may destroy pistons' surface. So it's better to check the injectors on a bench by a diesel injectors specialist. There are several videos on youtube about these D4D engines.
Thanks for the video! Just curios what mileage your car had when you encountered this issue? Also would be nice to see a video on how to check timing chain state.
Hello, it was around 300k ish mark
Hello, please tell me, when I removed the oil seal with the engine running, there was too much air inside, as if it was leaking somewhere, with the seal closed, it’s not bad, what happened? This injector is leaking
Hello if the injector is leaking its only the injector seal needs replacing
I've got this exact issue. Would it be ready for me to do myself. Not a mechanic but I'm very practical. Sparky by trade.
yea no bothers at all, just don't let the injector snap in the engine, flood it for a few days of WD40, mine was a fresh leak so didn't need to lube it up
@@cardiyrepair yes the problem in my car only started couple of days ago. Didn't drive it after.
i have the same engine (2.0L D4D) and it has blue &white smoke when i accelerate and the turbo kicks in. (2nd, above 2.000rpm)
I think it might be one of the issues to start with.
What do you guys think?
Waiting for the answer as well
Might be the DPF is regen.
depends on year... 2009 to 2011 have no DPF@@cardiyrepair
@@cardiyrepair it's not the dpf i used a good cleaning solution for the DPF and it cleaned it pretty well (DPF differential pressure less than 10(i think it''s kilopascal)
What were the symptoms before? Ticking sound and gasses coming out of dodgy one?
None, it just breaks the seal and then puffs like an old locomotive
@@cardiyrepairdid you have to buy new actual injectors or just replace the seals? Thanks for making this btw.
^ ?
What Nm do u tight the injector ,tanks
it's 25nm. Thanks
Very practical video. Thank you! I have an important question. My Toyota Corolla Verso 2006, 2.2 Diesel Engine (167000 km) has the problem of injector leaking. I got noticed from its noise 2 days ago. and can say that run with that 80 km until now. There is not oil or diesel yet around the injector. What I see from the leak is only smoke that comes out in pulse way. My question is, how dangerous it could be, or, how the problem might become important gradually? could it extend and all of the sudden, I broke down in highway? at the moment I do not have tools to repair it, and of course, the workshop will charge me a lot to fix it I think! Thank you in advance for your guidance
The longer you leave it and drive it the more carbon will escape and clog up the injector and stick it in place, put a good dose of WD40 and drive it to get the cylinder head to heat up to get the WD40 to penetrate and will leave it lubricated and easy to take out. When getting a new injector seal get a new bolt that holds the injector in.
@@cardiyrepair Thank you for the good comments. would you please give the name for those special tools? so that i can buy it
@@cardiyrepair would you please guide on how to find the right sealing online? thank you.
@@cardiyrepair I failed to a bad problem! The bolt that holds the inject was cut! more than half is in the hole! A big challenge! I do not know how to get it out. Every body who has an idea, please discuss it!
@@mohammadaliebrahimi-nik9486 how did it cut ?
Followed the whole tutorial, but the new injector wont sit in, its sitting up by around 5mm to 10mm, once in, theres diesel leaking from around the injector where it goes in. Not sure why it isnt going in properly
is the new injector the correct size injector? Did you clean the old carbon from the shaft? It should fit perfectly if the correct part and shaft properly cleaned out ane where the injector seats is carbon free and clean.
Where did you get the seals from
Toyota dealer parts department
How did you know which injector was leaking?
Put your hand over each injector and the one that's leaking you will feel a puffs of air from it and smell it, smells of exhaust fumes.
How did you know it was the injector?
By putting your hand over you can feel the pressure escaping also the carbon build up is visual sign.
Hello here is a video showing how, thanks
ua-cam.com/video/qm-fh7Z8Uqs/v-deo.html
U have to change all the sealing of the injectors
no only the one needed, Thanks
Very expensive injectors bought a 10 2.0 diesel for 1450 for a whole car now a new injector including coding costs 400 it’s just funny can’t refurb them
They sure are expensive, and getting coded on top is a lot of money, but the injector can be be refurbished, loads of video of lads doing them on UA-cam.
@@cardiyrepair I think your confusing cleaning with refurbing them Denso don’t sell the parts widely so refurbing is out it only cost exchange with Toyota ,
each injector costs around 250 € in Europe.
