    Well I started “The Stormlight Archive: The way of kings” by Brandon Sanderson about 4 days ago and I’m on page 504. As a person who just started my reading adventure and I’ve only read 1 other series(ASOIF) at the age of 32 I think I’m doing quite well :D I never realized how fun reading can be. I always used to look at readers weirdly, thought they were the odd ones. Boy was I wrong. I’ve missed out on so much awesome reading. But better late than never.

      Darsh Hi I don't know the details, the book didn't care about them, but from what I understand it had something to do with her results being used in advertising. She told people the methods o ly worked on "some types of reading" after entering college, and I think that was all they got out of her.

      I'm still skeptical, and after reading about Evelyn Wood I still am. I feel like only "certain types of people" could ever do this imo. Just like you can't learn to compute numbers faster than a calculator, yet some people can do that too. It's a talent, a gift. If you can do it then you don't need to learn how, and if you can't you never will.
      That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it still.

      I think it might work. Takes practice. I've tried it from my friends advice. He said he could do it. You just have to focus hard at looking at each work. Just look at all the words don't try to read them in your head. Your brain automatically understands it to a degree I think with practice it gets better.

      As much I could agree with you the results will be the same. I purchased a book previously about how to pass your exams. It listed the same technique she used, what she's doing is absorbing data by LOOKING at it. Yet normally speed readers have to READ it in their MINDS. That little voice in our heads is stopping the limits at which our brains can read and process information.
      Just think about this, When u see the words 'STOP' u don't have to read it in ur mind u just look at it. And you know what it says.
      She's doing the same. But with thousands of words.

    • @EternalNero
      @EternalNero Місяць тому

      Of course, think of it like this: Do you even remember where all the keys on the keyboard are? (I don't)
      And yet you can type hundreds, perhaps even thousands of letters a minute with ease without even thinking about it, this means that even those abilities we do not consciously find use for, are always a part of our mind and serve not only as subconscious tools which facilitate our thinking and allows for far greater mental strategies, but also allows us not only to be good at our chosen task, but excel at things most in our lives, without us having to even consciously think about it
      This also proves that not only our language works subconsciously, but also features tied to it, which in the end stretches to most, if not all abilities which we have, as everything from hand gestures, to art, to crying (emotional intelligence) and so on, are technically our means of expressing ourselves

      My theory is that she taught her brain that whatever her finger slides across is now within her mind, as a hypnotist and a mentalist I know that this is technically possible trough the power of Monoideism aka "One Idea: (which means extreme concentration and hyperfocus, this state of mind is also better known and popularized as... YES hypnosis) the fact that she believes she can, allows her brain to access features the rest of us block with our critical mind, aka doubt, this is not something she was born with, nor is it some "hack" this is due to incredible levels of effort, she decided she would become the best, and she probably still is by far
      It might sound impossible to people most, but I have seen these limits be broken, and while I have used methods that allow others to access them I have not been close to reaching such amazing levels myself, only true effort and dedication can allow anyone to reach such
      And I repeat: She didn't wake up one day and realize she could do this automatically as a gift no sir! (unless she is an "low functioning" autist and savant, which simply means that her brain lacks those literally "Critical" components that tell her "No you cannot do this because it's not within the norms") yet from the seems this lady succeeded trough talent, the appropriate tools aka skills, and again: EFFORT lots and lots of it

    • @EternalNero
      @EternalNero Місяць тому

      Another way I can try explain the power of the subconcious (and the fact that it works outside our reach, but not within our conscious control)
      Do you remember exactly where the keys of a keyboard are? Probably not, and yet when you try to type a comment you can type hundreds of letters a minute with ease yes? That is your subconscious power working for you

      "And that if you are a complete loser who never practice"
      This cannot be completely right, I mean perhaps I am taking your words too much on the nose/face value here, but if what you say (said seven years ago lol, or rather, wrote) had any truth to it, I would sign up and then just leave, apparently the act of signing up alone making me able to read 2000 words per minute, minimum
      Alas you're completely right, many here claim "This girl was born with a gift like the X-men" as a hypnotist I can tell you this: This is fully possible once you teach the subconscious mind, and that's easy, you do not type these comments consciously after all, you just think of a word and your subconscious moves your fingers super fast to match the speed at which you think said words, needless to say: That is the power of the subconscious and she is also using her fingers by the way, that's no coincidence, she has taught her mind that anything her finger goes trough, is absorbed, and taught her finger that everything goes to the brain
      Sounds like lunacy? Sure, if you think about your fingers typing hundreds of letters a minute on a keyboard without you even thinking about it consciously, now that's insanity beyind what this girl does, and in the end so much simpler...

I am one of the fastest typers on a keyboard in the world, and I (like yourself I am sure) just think of the words and my fingers type them down, the opposite should be easier actually, just absorbing information into the brain, that's what we do most as humans
