@MichiHoyer I'm curious if you simulate on iracing at all or not? It's not important, I LOVE your channel as well, been learning a lot from you. I need to go on your page and comment this, lol
"You know me, I'm an iRacing guy. But I prefer the GT3s in Le Man Ultimate. Like I said, it just feels a bit more raw, a bit more involving. I don't know why..." Good on ya for saying so, Dave!
Only problem is the small market value of the "official" racing series this game rides on. This ain't no F1, Indy Car, or NASCAR, etc... All the prime meats have been taken. They have leftovers. I tried the LMP2 and the Hypercars, and they are way too difficult and fast for my noob eyes. So I only do GT3, which is still too fast for me... I'm gonna stick with Forza Motorsports class C, D and E cars until AC Evo comes out. The best thing they can do is open up the game to modding so we can have more tracks and cars of all types! Make files totally accessible like in AC and this could be the new king! Before AC Evo comes out! (and AC Evo won't even have open file accessibility and modability like in AC at all. Mods won't be in the initial release, and later only "official" mods will be allowed. Meaning you won't be able to mod horsepower curves or suspension linkage lengths at all. Especially when you will have to grind points to upgrade cars like in GT7.) LMU can become the newest, greatest open file modable game in history!
They just need to optimize the performance. I can run ACC at 2k/epic with 80fps but LMU I can only run at HD/med and if I get higher it will give me fps drops down to 25-30fps. You can really feel that it's overscaled rf2 with bad optimization
Le mans ultimate do the incar sound from the driver's perspective, i believe. With helmet balaclava & ear plugs in. So, it intentionally sounds muffled
The comment about iRacing not costing £28 to buy at base is wrong. You pay $14 a month for iRacing and then $14-18 PER CAR or TRACK whereas the DLC here includes 3 cars and a track for the same price! Or you can pay a subcription the same as iRacing, get free DLC effectively, and all of the other benefits they can offer.
I’m not really sure what the issue is with the pricing? Yes you pay £25-30 initially for the game, but you own it… You have to keep paying for iRacing to use it. For not much more than one track or car on iRacing (which you pay extra for and don’t even own unless you keep paying them…), you’re getting the best version of Interlagos in sim racing, and most likely, 3 of the most accurate GT3 cars in sim racing. I really do struggle to see the issue here with the pricing, unless you’re an iRacing fanboy (this is not aimed at you Dave).
To add to this, people will now also yell “sUBScrIPtioN!” for some reason, while it is not at all required to do daily races, join leagues or hosted race.
I just mentioned it as it may be a better option to pay a subscription and get all the content for both LMU and RF2 (which is a great deal IMO) I just feel if that's the route they're taking you shouldn't have to pay for the base game also. 👍
Because it's not a finished Game and we don't know if it ever will be, maybe? 🤷♂️ I won't to buy anything unless they have the game fully released. I have enough of this Early Access crap.
@ I totally get where you’re coming from, but that’s very much with an iRacing mindset, which in my eyes is far from ideal or moral. At least if you pay the £30, you at least own the game. I doubt many are bothered by RF2 being included in the upper tier, but for $14 a month, by month four or five, you could’ve just paid for the season pass and just outright own everything in LMU…
My man! That's what I agree with the most. I'm sick and tired of poeple complaining about the game. I really think this game is much better when it comes to value then IRacing. Your pay for the game.. and then the packs. Not championship, tracks and the car. Idk if you even have to pay for sessions in IRacing
That's what you get when you focus on smoothness and efficiency in engineering, you lose character. American v8s and Harleys are prime examples of the opposite
Lemans ultimate has a fantastic driving model. That’s coming from a sim enthusiast. I’m excited for the GT3s but I love driving the hypercars way too much 😂
Very enjoyable and positive video Dave. I am enjoying so many Sims at the moment, I'm quite happy just hopping between them, that includes LMU. The devs are very interactive on discord too which is nice. Cheers.

I love the FFB in LMU. It's like they took all the "noise" out of RF2 without having to utilize the filter in RF2 that eliminates the noise and reduces overall FFB. I just hope that if they go bankrupt, Steam will allow us to play offline, because LMU is a gem. (If they got rid of the 15 degrees of vagueness on hairpin turns and added vibration to the wheel when the brakes locked up, LMU would easily be on the very top of my list for GT3's)
I’ve just played the update, including in vr, my god it’s amazing. I love my iRacing but this is stunning. I hope the online racing will be good, it needs something like lfm.
Sounds are great but a bit strange of the location when looking camera wise. The camera takes the car from the front but the sound is indicating the car comes from the left. It´s a bit weired though but all in one, great sound and GFX. Thanks you Dave.
Dave talking about pricing: any sim on the market is much cheaper than the ripoff iRacing is. I already spend more than 300 USD in that sim (not counting the yearly sub…) and the content is nowhere near AMS2, AC, ACC, RaceRoom for example. I‘m happy to pay LMU 10-30 USD for DLC if they are worth it as long as I can own the content!
iRacing provides that amount of content 4 times a year buddy. Ams2 1.6 update was great but they kept teasing and teasing, it took them almost one year to release it.
On point Dave - for those who wants it to succed and continue to grow, buy the damn dlc's or subscribe. I have the season pass and im gonna subscribe, i love iRacing but i have just as much fun in LMU and thats what im there for, just to have fun. Thank you Dave!
The C5R, C6R, and C7R were all time great sounding V8s. The C8R with it's flat plane crank was supposed to sound incredible. It sounds good but not the same. Still, LMU doesn't do it justice
I wish the game good luck as we need more sims for us to drive but im still pissed that the game is still not finished yet they are charging for DLC. Finish the game 1st before making extra addons.
did you feel like having to adjust your driving from iRacing? Specifically on the brakes, because I know iRacing's (in)famous for its not-100% braking force model also really keen on your thoughts on LMU in VR. These sounds are amazing - hopeful for its immersion impact when in VR
It does look decent but (and I’m not sure how any of the games companies will fix this) it still looks like a game 🤷🏻♂️. AMS2 is still in the lead in the visuals department. One of the most immersion breaking effects is the depth of field shots when a car is in the distance and coming down a long straight, Rfactor 2 same deal but it just looks like tiny toy cars driving around a model village
I have a 4090, ryzen 9 9800x3d, 64 fury beasts amd run it on a 100” Sony qled. Iracing looks great on my pc, LMU looks blocky amd pure dogshit but every setting is turned up. What am I doing wrong ???
It's not you... I run a beefy system as well and it looks crap on a quality 4k monitor to me, looks crummy in VR, and as far as I know it doesn't even work with trackIR still?! I'd have easily bought if at least that worked. Edit; I'd love a 100"(?!) screen for my simming btw... Flightsim would look insane!
@ it’s strange so many people praise the graphics, I’m glad it’s just not me!! I know mate I’m really lucky I like triples but the single screen of this size and high quality I will never use anything else. Just wish lmu looked good like everyone says
@jeeziRacer I've used up all my "trial" hours for LMU on Steam... Wanted to love it but just didn't for a whole host of reasons. Wasn't even convinced by the physics/ffb tbh. It's really just rF2.5 in a way. A developmental continuation that builds upon the foundation of rF2, ISI and all. Also, more endurance, more GT3... It's just too much. Uncertain future concerning Motorsport Games, very subpar VR optimization(won't be fixed, just a core limitation with the graphical framework), etc.etc.. It has a market, just not for you and me. We're much better off waiting for AC evo...(barely longer than a month to go!?)
Help I’ve been doing it wrong all these years….I’ve noticed you, Matt Malone, and Quirk whether on Ultra Wide or triples all have your monitors behind the wheelbase, yet I was always told to have my monitors as close to my steering wheel as possible, which is correct?
Go on Dave, I forgot about Le Mans Ultimate lol, I got it when it come out but with out the VR support, Properly put me off, But I here and read that LMU is pretty good in VR, So I just re-installed LMU, I got 2 M.2's now so I got space for it, But yeah reading on Traxxion they is saying the VR is pretty good even if it still is in Beta.... Can anyone tell me if LMU is good in VR, I am using a Quest 3, Fingers crossed it is actually good in VR, I do need something different at the moment, And this do look like iRacing cleaned up, lol, But yeah something different would be pretty good right about now, Plus AMS 2 don't have Ferrari cars, Yet lol, AMS 2 is my go 2 sim at the moment, Almost a thousand hours in AMS 2, I only does a few hours on the nights now, I am thinking of getting Thrustmaster loadcell pedals now, I put them off for the Quest 3, My old dear is dropping me some money so I will get the Thrustmaster loadcell pedals, Amazon got a bunch of different pedals so I am wondering if I should get separate pedals instead of the all in one unit, Fanatec does a set for 200 pounds CSL I think, Can someone let me know what the best thing to do is, I have a T300/500 GT-RS wheel so ideally I should get the Thrustmaster load cell pedals, But seeing the fanatec CSL for the same price or a bit more, I think the thrustmaster is around 160-200, I hear the Thrustmaster loadcell pedals are pretty good, But with an adapter would the Fanatec be better?, lol, I never have used loadcell pedals, Or pedals with a loadcell brake, I am using the normal thrustmaster that come with the wheel see, I am a few seconds behind the fastest drivers on AMS 2 now, Will the loadcell brake make that much of an impact, And allow me to be faster, Coz if that is the case then the argument high end set up won't make you faster goes out the car window, lol.... Yeah I just installed Le Mans Ultimate now VR support is there, VR is the future of sim racing, In my opinion, VR is where it is at, A lot more people are now using VR on AMS 2 multiplayer online, I have noticed far more VR players on AMS 2 over the last year or so, And the Quest 3 is pretty bad ass, If you have a high end PC and can bump the Quest 2 all the way up, Even the Quest 2 is bad ass, Though a Quest 2, Do need a better a PC, I have a Quest 2 and 3, I can say the Quest 3 is miles better, So just get a Quest 3 if you want to do VR on a budget, I got mine refurbished off Amazon, Brilliant, I saved 130 pounds, And it was still as mint as brand new, Refurbished items are pretty decent on Amazon by the way, I would buy another refurbished if I had the choice and the warratee is still the same, Great way of recycling hardware in my opinion, 360 pounds for a Quest 3, Was chuffed when it come all brand new, lol... Le Mans Ultimate, Now if the VR is implemented well, And is like AMS 2 with the VR optimization, Then LMU could have a decent future, I will try it later on myself..... Thanks for reminding me about LMU, lol....
I will say if there’s one thing iracing definitely has on the competition, its that their replays actually look like car physics. Seems like this and everything else the cars look really unnatural as they shift weight around. That said I’m still playing this and not iracing
This is a good use of a limited amount of keys for early access. They got this one right. Awesome Upload. I took my racing line off this past season Dave. I started REALLY practicing my driving, the tracks, and the races coming up. I've made a mental note of the races on deck each week and guarding my iRating cause I want to know where the upper limit of my SIM racing is now end of my first year encountering any kind of Racecraft. I'm holding right around 17 to 1800s competitively. I'm looking for a good second SIM to drive on between races. When I don't want to cook my rating driving just for the need a competition. 2k was my first year goal. I have about 3mos left to hit it.
@davecamyt good to know Dave, please feel free to look us up... WE-AR VR. I'm in Sunderland would love to invite you to our VR experience using DOF Reality P6 etc. I would also like to bend your ear about your sim pit gear... looks really impressive and I'm keen to know more for our project. How is best to connect with you offline?
My question is: is this game populated when the hype for the update is gone? Can you easily find full races or is it normally dead? At this moment there are 190 players
IRacing is a matchmaking service. There’s no comparison between iRacing and others in terms of pricing. LMU is a sim. IRacing is a service with a sim. Comparing graphics and all that is great and good to help drive the sim experience further. Two totally different things here. Love your take on this Dave.
Sound really isn't all that convincing. But then, most racing sims fail to render the way really loud cars sound IRL. Anyway, time for an ACC-iRacing-LMU GT3 comparison vid?
Don't get me wrong, I am not a I-racing hater, infact I think it is a good Sim, what I don't like is the fact you pay for content you infact never own, that is what puts me off the Sim. AC and AMS2 are both Sims with their own merits, that being you actually own the content, even if you take a break from racing for a period, when you return everything is as you left it, one off cost for DLC's and tracks, loads of excellent mod's ans with the new update AMS2 is moving forward in the rankings of being a great Sim. AC Evo is on the horizon and prerelease videos are looking good, but it looks like it's going to the same road as I-Racing, in that it is going to have some kind of Subscription to it, so that might put off a lot of people. LMU looks smooth, the content looks great, the tracks look spot on, but it is a Sim I have not tried, as it contains cars mainly that I have no interest in driving, I enjoyed the Video, as it was up to the usual high standard we have come to expect from Mr Dave Cam
Why get the DLC you can pay 88 dollars for the year and have access to all DLC and access to rf2 content as well. I don't think you can best that offer anyway
This just doesn't work for me. It's not that I think it's bad. I just don't like being locked to a single series and the playerbase is just small. I prefer iRacing because it's population makes it so you can race anytime you want in almost any series you want across multiple disciplines. That is more value to me for my money. I don't have the opportunity to always be on during a prime time, so LMU will never really suit what I'm needing. Cost is not an issue so that's not something I care about.
I see you as an honest man & a respectful man who wouldn't sell his reputation out, So with that said. What do you think about the direction LMU is going in with the subscription model ? I have an episode coming out on this shortly. Anything in beginner outside of GTE is a total wreckfest, Intermediete & Advanced lobbies are generally ghost towns ( Have shown this on stream multiple times ) & the curse of the satefy rating B0 drivers. So, I have had a race where I had to help a guy accross the line who ran out of gas, We had 14x incident contacts. I still WENT UP in safety rating. So to get from SR B3 to SR B0 takes actual dedication & effort to not give a shit & to ruin other peoples races, The prototypes on spa, The entire grid would wreck, 90% of the grid was B0 drivers & the odd guy like me in gold just trying to get a race, They would all total themselves on the first hill, Then que right up to do it again. Is that what people should be paying 90 some dollars a year for ? Only putting priority on driver reports for paid for subscriptions, Gating the competitive servers behind subscriptions, When they don't even have a community playing this game outside of the toxic B0 drivers that fill up beginner lobbies. I am really curious your opinion on it, Because I LOVE LMU. I hate the way it is being handled / managed & the company has completely failed to have the game be at a decent level of competitive integrity due to the terrible community that inhabits the lower end of the game, It will never be a good place for a new player to think hey this is fun. You can't hand people who have never sim raced, P2's and hypercar's & GT3 / GTE's. There is a VERY GOOD reason Iracing gates these things behind higher tier licenses & I Don't think a single person at motorsport games considered this, The only way it works is with strict enforcement & anybody dipping down into B0 safety rating needs to be yanked from online play & put into their own lobbies until they raise their safety rating back up to SR B3. But I can promise you they won't do that as they are only putting priority on reports in the subscription tier which is utterly disgusting. I started off NOT wanting motorsport games to sell the game or have it be taken over & Stripped by Iracing. But I honestly think that this would be a better upgrade to IRacing than a standalone game, They need to upgrade IRacing to the entire LMU engine, Strip its netcode & kick motorsport games in the can & out the door.
this is the issue I've had with basically every other sim. since the barrier for entry is lower, you get people who don't really care about trying to race clean and treat the game like a real sim. iRacing has lots of idiots but the majority of my races have been clean (at least for me as I try to race clean). ACC, AMS2, LMU all have complete retards filling up half the lobbies who will literally pit you if you try to pass on a straight. I've had good races on those sims too but the ratio of good to bad is insanely skewed. maybe private lobbies are better, but that's not what I want be doing really.
Amazing cars and graphics, lovely track, nice detail not gonna lie! Looks superb, and the sound is good aswell. But yeah i find it really sad that nowadays GT3 cars sound so boring compared to few years back. Im not a fan of almost all cars have (or go to the) V6 (Bi)Turbo. They sound sooooo boring and almost the same ... I miss the good ol Days, the damn Z4 GT3 loud af monster, the Bentley V8 brutal sound of it, the V12 Aston screaming its lungs out, beautiful high pitched sound, the amazing C7R Corvette .. (the real one not that joke of a C8 nowadays :D) with the massive V8, one of the most amazing V8 sounds there is! The cool sound of the Nissan GT3s which has aswell a V6 but sounds unique and awesome. And all of them were super loud and noisy mostly. The only cars that still sound great today are the V10s, AMG and Porsche. But the V6s are just plain old boring and quiet :D For me motorsport must be loud, noisy and mean! BTW can you or anybody else confirm that LMU will have a subscribtion model like iRenting soon?
It looks good and I’m sure they drive really well, but three DLC’s on a game that’s early access (not finished) is a massive red flag and a definite no no for me. Each to their own though.
LMU is a great simulator, but..... they came out with semi-empty early access and now sell what should be the basic content as DLCs. I don't like that...
I lost all interest in this sim when they announced the subscription thing. There is no where near enough content for that, and there never will be. Also having a game with GTE was fun. I couldnt be less excited to drive more GT3s
I have to be honest. I don't like it at all. Maybe graphics are ok, but ffb seems dead and sounds bad. Let's see when it releases, but for now that's a big no.
Great video Dave! Thanks for taking the time to give it a try!

Hoping they fix the CTD from qualifying to race. Bloody annoying. Not paying for anything until these bugs are sorted, if ever
LMU is awesome fun!
I wish the game good luck as we need more sims for us to drive but im still pissed that the game is still not finished yet they are charging for DLC. Finish the game 1st before making extra addons.
Cheers Dave . I love LMU .
How is the multiplayer? Can I have there good online race every our too? Are there enough racers that there are enough splits for thight races?
Corvette doesnt sound like a corvette?
The tires sure do fluctuate a lot, or at least the overlay makes it seem that way.
LMU is so good!
Here Dave....have a listen to this. Doesn't sound quite as good as that little Coyote engine in the Mustang does it. :D
Looks amazing!
did you feel like having to adjust your driving from iRacing? Specifically on the brakes, because I know iRacing's (in)famous for its not-100% braking force model
also really keen on your thoughts on LMU in VR. These sounds are amazing - hopeful for its immersion impact when in VR
Similar in LMU. That's the most efficient way of braking. There is only one sim that doesn't do it correctly 👍
@@davecamyt which sim is that?
It does look decent but (and I’m not sure how any of the games companies will fix this) it still looks like a game 🤷🏻♂️. AMS2 is still in the lead in the visuals department. One of the most immersion breaking effects is the depth of field shots when a car is in the distance and coming down a long straight, Rfactor 2 same deal but it just looks like tiny toy cars driving around a model village
in fact if AMS2 would drive like a sim it would be great
My question is do we get to keep all of the DLC content after the subscription ends
If you got it as part of the subscription I'd assume not.
Make sure we can see your entire wheel base in the camera shot
Make sure everyone sees how much money your setup is worth
You'll regret saying that I'll zoom it right on my head next time. 😁
You'll be pleased I didn't have my 5 grand pedals on show 😘
I love this sim so much. I don’t get why not everybody is switching to LMU. Once you did you’ll never go back.
When I was running 27's it was on top. I'm now on a big 50" so needs to be further away 👍
I have LMU, and all of the DLC ...........but can't take myself away from ACC LFM 🤔🤣
I wanna give this a try
Is amg in the game?
I’m loving it!
Hey Dave, I notice your North East accent. You based up here in NE England by any chance?
Originally from Cumbria but now in the North East. Red & White territory 😁
@dalemckenzie2828 just ping me a message on X,discord or my email should be somewhere on here I think 😁
@@davecamyt will sort tomorrow.
@@dalemckenzie2828 X and Insta both @davecamyt 👍
so mclaren doesnt seem as stable as the one in iRacing
My question is: is this game populated when the hype for the update is gone? Can you easily find full races or is it normally dead? At this moment there are 190 players
Depends on the time zone. In EU prime time 6-8 splits usually. In US time zones 1-2 splits.
@@blagger1975 yesterday I had 12 splits for Beginner Le Mans race
IRacing is a matchmaking service. There’s no comparison between iRacing and others in terms of pricing. LMU is a sim. IRacing is a service with a sim. Comparing graphics and all that is great and good to help drive the sim experience further. Two totally different things here.
Love your take on this Dave.
Sound really isn't all that convincing. But then, most racing sims fail to render the way really loud cars sound IRL. Anyway, time for an ACC-iRacing-LMU GT3 comparison vid?
Now THIS is interesting
Still, dlcs in a pre release game? Hmm
I still don’t like the idea of buying DLC’s for an early access game. Happy to see the McClaren is free as I wasn’t a fan of the GTEs.
Well GTE are harder to drive at the limit, might be that.
Early Access technically but the way it runs and the amount of content it has is definitely no longer EA.
Why get the DLC you can pay 88 dollars for the year and have access to all DLC and access to rf2 content as well. I don't think you can best that offer anyway
LMU is king of sims!!
Physics and FFB is superb!
The graphics look great but the car sounds are aweful. There seemed to be more tire rumble an wind noise then actual car exhaust sounds.
LMGT3s and there’s no Porsche?
Such a great sim. Excellent physycs, graphics and ffb.
Probably some cost cutting was done regarding sound given the current commercial circumstances
But the V6s are just plain old boring and quiet :D
For me motorsport must be loud, noisy and mean!
BTW can you or anybody else confirm that LMU will have a subscribtion model like iRenting soon?
Sorry, im happy with iRacing.. I wont be spending anymore money with LMU.. they are a sneaky company.
nice!
The Corvette is SO boring imo. Can't wait to try all the other GT3s
It looks good and I’m sure they drive really well, but three DLC’s on a game that’s early access (not finished) is a massive red flag and a definite no no for me.
Each to their own though.
Get outta here, rubbing your job in our faces 😂 i hope you spill your Tea!
Its a car with a turbocharged V6... It isn't going to sound good regardless. It's not going to have the tone of a V8/V10 or V12
I‘m putt off by the font used in all the dashboards. Kinda lazy.
I think Race Room has better sound than this game. I like it though and I own a season pass
I wounder why they can't use the real sound from the real cars ? The graphics look great but the sound of the cars is off.
LMU is a great simulator, but..... they came out with semi-empty early access and now sell what should be the basic content as DLCs. I don't like that...
For those who think you "own" this gane, you do not. it's a digital copy and can be erased at any time unless you own the physical copy.
And, What's the point?
@EricW6800 you don't own shit
you don't own any sort of digital media. doesn't matter if it's on a disk as (modern) games still use licences which can be revoked/invalidated
call it like you wiss. The fact is that you don´t have to pay 110E + taxes every year and 15E + taxes per track/car.
fov mate. you are sitting on the backseat.
FOV is fine 👍
I lost all interest in this sim when they announced the subscription thing. There is no where near enough content for that, and there never will be. Also having a game with GTE was fun. I couldnt be less excited to drive more GT3s
That cartoon track doesn't look the best to be honest
Well, it's French.
Brazilian@@pickledblowfish6178
I have to be honest. I don't like it at all. Maybe graphics are ok, but ffb seems dead and sounds bad. Let's see when it releases, but for now that's a big no.
