It IS corny and cheesy, but I think that's a big part of what made it so fun to watch. Kinda like the 1960s Batman. I've said many times it's a lot like the Millennial generation's version of that.

KajiRider1997 goddamn purist bullshit. I am a fan of both PR and Sentai, and the key is keeping them separate. they're both good (well.... mostly.... Megaforce, super Megaforce, and overdrive PR and some seasons of Sentai suck).
Yep, Linkara's restrospective is pretty much THE place to go if you want to get completely caught up on PRs without having to sit and *watch* hours upon hours of PRs episodes. It's popular with his fans for a very good reason.
Yeah. HOPR has been my barometer to figure out which seasons I would bother to go back and watch since as a kid I stopped watching right before Zeo. That's how I ended up seeing Time Force and RPM as an adult.
Seasons 2 and 3 might be the most interesting to analyze for how they were trying _not_ to use the next Sentai. And the transition from season 1 to season 2 was padded out by a bunch of new monsters filmed just for Power Rangers to splice, so there are only about 42 episodes actually adapting Zyuranger proper.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was originally supposed to end at 40 episodes, but the show was such a massive hit that they went well beyond that number.

The Yellow Ranger (despite being a female in the US show) didn't have a skirt in the action scenes because the Yellow Ranger is a guy in the Japanese version of the show...

Hey James, or anyone reading this, as you already found out, Super Sentai started back in 1975, ...but the cool thing is that they have a reunion type show a think back in 2004 (someone can correct me if I'm off on the date) but in that show, they showed several Rangers, in fact, I believe the American version of Power Rangers, used footage from the show, and thus, made what's called The Legendary Battle or aka The Legendary War. In any case, the best thing I enjoyed, was that the original Red Ranger from 1975, made an appearance, although he's up in age,... still how cool is that?!

This is great, James after you finish these power rangers episodes , you and mike should play power rangers for the SNES. Its was a pretty good game if I remember correctly, similar style to double dragon, expect with giant robot fights at the end of stage.

Yeah. Normally Super Sentai, my favourite, has a somewhat mature and adult nature, so Saban turns it down to make it watchable for kids. With this RPM instalment, its has an apocalyptic setting and the original, Engine Sentai Go-onger, so awesome, was very friendly. Sure it did have some adult themes like bloodshed, cursing and onscreen death, but still.
This is fantastic! I used to watch Power Rangers when I was a little kid. Just recently, I, like you, became curious about it years later after my little nephew started watching the current season. From there, I found Linkara's History of Power Rangers. Needless to say, I watched all of his HoPR videos, and now I feel caught up. Welcome to the madness, James!

Yep, Linkara's restrospective is pretty much THE place to go if you want to get completely caught up on PRs without having to sit and *watch* hours upon hours of PRs episodes. It's popular with his fans for a very good reason.

Yeah. HOPR has been my barometer to figure out which seasons I would bother to go back and watch since as a kid I stopped watching right before Zeo. That's how I ended up seeing Time Force and RPM as an adult.
I loved those vids, i know i couldn't stand allot of the cheese, yet wanted to relive some of that nostalgia, the history series worked wonders there.
This is why I love Japan. A lot of Their creations are wacky and they're proud of it.

Seasons 2 and 3 might be the most interesting to analyze for how they were trying _not_ to use the next Sentai.
And the transition from season 1 to season 2 was padded out by a bunch of new monsters filmed just for Power Rangers to splice, so there are only about 42 episodes actually adapting Zyuranger proper.

Hey James, or anyone reading this, as you already found out, Super Sentai started back in 1975, ...but the cool thing is that they have a reunion type show a think back in 2004 (someone can correct me if I'm off on the date) but in that show, they showed several Rangers, in fact, I believe the American version of Power Rangers, used footage from the show, and thus, made what's called The Legendary Battle or aka The Legendary War. In any case, the best thing I enjoyed, was that the original Red Ranger from 1975, made an appearance, although he's up in age,... still how cool is that?!

This is great, James after you finish these power rangers episodes , you and mike should play power rangers for the SNES. Its was a pretty good game if I remember correctly, similar style to double dragon, expect with giant robot fights at the end of stage.

Well aling RPM it's the most adult PR has ever got as a franchise.
Yeah. Normally Super Sentai, my favourite, has a somewhat mature and adult nature, so Saban turns it down to make it watchable for kids. With this RPM instalment, its has an apocalyptic setting and the original, Engine Sentai Go-onger, so awesome, was very friendly. Sure it did have some adult themes like bloodshed, cursing and onscreen death, but still.
James this was the best video since AVGN: Seaman! This was brilliant, please make this into a series!!

This is fantastic! I used to watch Power Rangers when I was a little kid. Just recently, I, like you, became curious about it years later after my little nephew started watching the current season. From there, I found Linkara's History of Power Rangers.
Needless to say, I watched all of his HoPR videos, and now I feel caught up.
