    I had the opposite problem.
    For years I consistently hit my Wedges left of target (all my Irons were 2 degs Upright). It was only when I had a Wedge fitting last year and the Fitter recommended that I have my Wedges 1deg flat, that I suddenly found myself being able to hit at the target consistently!

    I love these professional Tour fitting videos. I didn't realise that you can have different lie angles for each individual club - and mine have always been fitted. I learned something new there. I would love to have a proper Tour Experience fitting through the bag. It's been nearly 7 years since I bought my clubs. Maybe time for a change. Except my Mizuno ST180 5 wood. That is my 220 yards carry, drop and stop, dead aim, answer to golf club, that will never be replaced.

    Enjoyed this video. It shows the importance of proper fitting for “your” swing by someone who knows what he or she is doing. The fitter said something vitally important: each club should be checked for the proper lie angle when you swing that particular club. Do not rely on one club’s lie angle for all your clubs. Again, the importance of getting fit from a knowledgeable fitter who has your best interest ahead of his or her own. Now, if only I could find such a fitter near me. 😞

    Love the honesty on distances. Others on UA-cam would be like...I hit my gap wedge like 160 yards so I need to hit a half shot for 110 😂 Swapped out my 58m for 58s for winter. The s having more bounce and a fuller sole for softer winter conditions. The 54 though is just so good allround.

    Enjoyed that Dan & Lester. My wedges are cheapo Kirkland wedges. I found it interesting what the fitter said about high spin low trajectory. More through luck than judgment I have done this a couple of times from green side buckers in the last few rounds. My playing partner thought I was going to fly though the green but the ball stopped very quickly from a low trajectory close to the flag....unfortunately I have no idea how the hell I did it.

    Really interesting insight into the benefits of wedge fitting. Think we all accept getting fitted for driver, and irons is something that's worthwhile but never really see people having them tailored to there needs.
    Maybe I need to re-think my strategy that my 54 degree wedge will do everything I need it to.

    Hi Dan,
    Club fitter from Australia, can I ask why you went to the PX 5.5 in your SW? From my experience going to a heavier shaft in the sw and lw will help most golfers with distance control particularly on partials. I have similar clubhead speed to you and also the same carry distances. In my set-up I also use px 6.0 in irons but in wedges jump up to 130gram shafts with 2 swingweight points heavier. If they give you the option I would test the px 6.5 (125g) soft stepped twice in your gap sw and lw. Just a thought, loving your content as always.

    • @DanHendriksenGolf
      @DanHendriksenGolf  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Dominic, I did this few years back. I was struggling for feel with the 6.0, nearly moved out of the PX shaft for wedges, they felt really hard and boardy like. I tried the softer 5.5 and it just felt great, only reason to be honest

    • @dombakarichgolf

      @@DanHendriksenGolf thanks for the reply Dan. To be fair your game is solid so whatever works mate. I did actually get out of PX for wedges. I went to S400 with an extra 5grams under the grips. I'm super jealous of that titleist fitting centre, it looks minty. Planning an Aussie bus tour I hope?

    Enjoyed the video. But I am going to offer one little critique. We saw you hitting the wedge from behind while you were talking about shots going right. The technician adjusts the lie of the club one degree upright. Then of all things Lester moves! You hit shots again which may be right on the pin but we cannot see the results. Why? Cheers from Texas. 🤠⛳🏌️

    Very interesting & a great idea to add this type of video to the channel . The option of having the instant lie-adjuster on the cart is great. One question would a high-handicapper like myself benefit at all from something similar, or is this really only of benefit to those who can play the game?

    • @DanHendriksenGolf
      @DanHendriksenGolf  2 роки тому +1

      I think we can all benefit from this type of attention to detail Martyn, we can discuss it more next weekend but I think you would walk away from this experience feeling a lit more confident in your clubs 👍

  • @valhaynes858
    @valhaynes858 2 роки тому +1

    Where would you suggest the higher handicap senior players who only hit their wedges 95- 75 - 50yds (52 - 56 - 60) go for a fitting? The reason I ask is ALL my local fitting centres use range balls and I don’t feel that gives the best feel or accurate distance. Plus as soon as a old biddy walks in I do feel they switch off and just give you a sale patter. Or am I being cynical? Cheers Dan really good informative video.

    Love the fitting, is there a reason that from a loft perspective your gap is close to the PW, however, the results are closer to your 54. Just wondering if that is due to the fact the PW is a set wedge as apposed to a dedicated wedge. Your thoughts?

    • @DanHendriksenGolf
      @DanHendriksenGolf  2 роки тому

      I think that I get a little less ball speed from a specialist wedge like Vokey, that’s why it struggles to keep up with the wedge 👍

      Especially as you play a lot of back foot shots. If you went neutral with a 52 instead of back you’d probably get the same ball flight but a better gap instead of needing an extra wedge on full shots.

    So, just an advertisement for Titleist............... I mean the moment you said you miss right and your playing with 2* flat anyone that knows the slightest thing about club fitting would know to test 1*, you fit yourself and even brought your own 50* hahaha Please dont be a selllout your honesty is a great attribute, I understand the money side and its a business but at least make a decent video on Titleist doing some work rather than just using their trackman and a loft/lie machine lol
