Its so it doesnt cost anything more or less to make the ng3. I added a pickup to make it an NG3 with the D-Roc config. Its dope.

@@davidcoulombe3086 Its more so, that its a mass produced body with one setting for all the basses to cut off more costs.

Yeah, all the bases that are the NG or combustion have all three routes already done so you can get a two pick up Bass for a little bit cheaper and add the third or swap them around like that. That’s why I love Dingwall!! Sheldon put an extreme amount of thought, and innovation into their instruments.

Hey I saw how you made to the swap to Dingwall after using the Dingstrand pickups with the Darkglass tone capsule, and I was wondering how close you were getting with the previous setup and why you ended up swapping over

  • @Asthmos

I did a video where I made a pick guard out of aluminum but I kept the pickups where they were (I have the NG2-6) I wanted to stuff something under there to get rid of the hollow tapping sound. now you got me wanting to try spacing my pickups out..... time to get another sheet of aluminum!

  • @hyperplayability6290
    @hyperplayability6290 4 місяці тому +2

    OH LMAO
I just did this to my white NG2 too
I'm probably gonna just switch between the two depending on which tones I want
(For example, the drop C /AGCF songs on Periphery III were actually recorded in neck/bridge position!)
Periphery's Juggernaut dual album involved middle/bridge though
The presence of the neck route definitely opens up this bass to a lot more potential
It has gotten to a point where I genuinely would take a NG2 over a NG3
Something cool would be to see if Dingwall would sell me a pickup shell so I can use one pickguard for both positions!

There is a company out there making a 6-way-selector to your likings.
Too expensive to get in germany, but us and Canada is reasonably priced.
Have a combustion myself and would go following route on a six way:
      POS 1: bridge
POS 2: bridge + middle series
POS 3: bridge + neck series
POS 4: bridge + neck Para
POS 5: bridge + middle + neck (droc setup)
      POS 6: neck

I mostly play metal bass, so it makes sense for me to set the sound like this. The device you use to listen also makes a difference. And it also kind of proves my point; why not have the pickup position you likes most, because there is not too much of a difference in how you perceive the tone

Why would you not include a clean demonstration.. that bass distortion effect tone sounds like complete trash. I don't understand why people like it. I wont listen to a band if the bassist uses this tone honestly it sounds so gross 😅. This video could be improved 10000% if you just included the clean tone along with this other tone. Thats pretty cool that the dingwall has a 3rd pickup route if you wanna swap around the pick ups or add a 3rd and re wire it up. So at least i gained something from watching lol
