Multiple videos I have watched seeking more info on the driver side low beam replacement, yours is the first and only that actually goes after the correct bulb. All others pull the high beam and clearly have no idea what they're doing. Thank you for being informative, thorough and accurate! Your camera quality is exponentially better than the others just doing this in their driveway. Cheers (from TX).
I just put my husband to shame and I have you to thank!! I sent him the video and he did not watch it, which was unusual (narcissist). He struggled to get the light off. I asked him to slide over while having your video playing and I followed everything you said and out came the bulb. Thank you
After watching several other videos about changing the headlight, I was lucky enough to watch your thorough details. Thank you for being the first clear video to cover the clips and position of the bulb. Excellent camera close-ups too!!
You have noooo idea how much you've helped, I was stuck with this and was getting desperate, I would your video a couple of times and the thing that helped me get unstuck was "pull away" it wasn't moving at all and all I had to do was pull it, much love and thanks a lot!
The headlight ballast only provides power to the bulb socket when the headlights are turned on..so you are safe to touch it with the lights off no problem..
Scare tactic to bring car to dealer. Will charge about 1 to 2 hrs labor plus cost of bulb amazon 50 bucks dealership 100 to 150 bucks plus labor. You can diy save big bucks just wear rubber gloves
Yo real talk. You did an amazing ass job going through this step by step with great and clear photos. Instructions were extremely thoroughly and I liked the extra info you added in for the newbies i.e. wearing gloves so that your finger oils don't ruin the bulb.
Wow Trina very good job you save my time bcse l have to do it tomorrow and l goin to do it same way ok appreciate your time hanks your are the best very clear
Thanks for the video. Just changed mines out with the help of this video. However, @3:42 you showed those notches. While there isn’t an actual slot that the notches fit into that turns and locks it in place like most other cars, what I discovered is there is a protruding grove in the housing that the larger notch in the bulb’s ring MUST fit around prior to snapping the two clamps around the bulb. If a person does not place it in that exact position, the bulb will not sit right. Even if the bulb’s position is off just slightly it will cast a weird pattern and the light will not be as bright as it should be. This is what happened to me. I had to go back in and readjust. Like you though, a person will be able to tell if it isn’t sitting in the housing just right. The first time, it didn’t seem to sit right but I was still able to snap the clamps in place. However, the light pattern was off as mentioned above. I didn’t have any clue there was a raised grove in there until I went back in; put my phone down there, and took a video of the housing area. Thanks for your help though. Saved me from an unnecessarily costly trip to the dealer.
Hello. I don't know if you still monitor this channel and still have the IS250 but, if so, is the Philips HID you used still working good after 5 yrs? It's still sold on Amazon for $63. I have the same car and my drivers HID lowbeam went bad yesterday. I watched several videos and yours, honestly was the best and most helpful.
You did a wonderful step-by-step video with the pictures showing how it looks like. Could you also do a how to video on replacing the parking lights too? I burned one of mine out but I have no idea how to get to the small light bulb.
Hi John, sorry for the delay. I wonder if you have replaced your bulb yet. I haven’t had to replace mine yet so have not researched how to do it. I’ll add it to my list though!
@@tarynesstudio Thanks for getting back! I eventually did figure out how to get to the lightbulb. It was a little tricky as it was small, but you can get to it from behind the light socket. I had to remove the window fluid container just like you did. I just had to replaced the drivers side, so I am not sure how tricky it is on the passenger side.
Thanks for posting this video and trying to show detailed clips and springs holding the bulb. It would be more helpful, if you can highlight these even more as it is not totally obvious as to how to push these areas to remove the bulb.
that was great I have an is250 2007 is it the same? also, I want to upgrade to an led Bloslla light bulb it has the fan and plug cable it doesn't look like the cable will fit.
Thank you, I've a UK spec IS250 and this was a great help (though it's passenger side here 😂). My bulb is H11 so thankfully no electrocution warnings. Thanks again!
I have question, before replacing the HID Bulb did you have any issue with the indicator & the high beam? Because on my car, it the light is intermittent.
I need help i recently changed my low beam light but right after my high beam started working but the light next to my high beam burned out. I want to replace what ever that light is but i have no idea what you call it. Its normally the light that stays on with the low beams
You don’t need to change them at the same time unless they are both out. I haven’t filmed a video on this yet but if you do need to, at least you only need to remove the engine cover once. There are different things that need to be moved around in order to reach the lightbulb.
Getting the bulbs in of that pesky socket took me literally almost an hour for both. It just didn’t feel right and was lose etc. It took me so long I have to do it again cuz it went out cuz I got my hand oil on it
I have to do this for the low-beam bulb on the passenger side, but I also have to replace my ballast. This seems to be a problem with at least the gen 2 IS. There is a simple way of determining whether your bulb is bad, or if the problem is your ballast: with the engine off, just turn on your low-beams and then put your ear close to the headlight assembly. If you hear a high-pitched hum, then your ballast is working properly. If you don't hear this sound, then you have to replace the ballast. It'll cost you about the same price as the Phillips HID bulb if you go with a Lexus factory ballast. If you buy a cheap Chinese-made one, it'll set you back about $30, but only give you one or two days before you have to replace it again. 🤣
I thought u would need to remove the bumper having oem headlights that’s why people go with the depo style upgrade so that way u can remove the light bulbs easier
Well, I´m Mechanical engineer, but to really understand how to do jobs in maintenace, I was going to learn with the guys, that do it all day. it is not easy jobs to do, need knowing how to do it..
My car is a 2011 and the bulb looks different. Actually it is different. The cover is a cap and bulb is a H3 style. My car is an fsport model though. So it may be different than regular IS.
what worries me is getting an electric shock. my Lexus IS 220d, it also has halogen headlights and one of these days .... i will need to change the lamp
You really have to watch out if you have HID headlights must wait 30 minutes or more after unplugging battery or turning car off they will shock you and send you into next week
one recommendation, give it three seconds at least for each still shot. As one attempts to view the picture, immediately is gone. I had to take screenshots of the video to review and understand what you are trying to show. Am talking about the cell phone shots showing the mounting holes on the headlight. Overall, wlany still shot should be three seconds, not a second or less and then gone.

thats okay, nice to see a woman with a so clear mind, working in this jobs of maintenance
Thank you!
Thank you. The dealer quoted me 120 dollars yesterday to have my changed. I gonna buy the part and do it myself.
Wow, for that much money you could buy a couple bulbs and have some change left over! You got this!! 🤗✨
Omg, at 2:26 I was so nervous you were about to shock yourself! Glad you didn't. I love the close shots you got of the inside. That was really cool.
Thank you! A shock would be very bad! 😬

Very informative video and I will be trying this method of changing my bulb within the next week or so. Thank you for making it very easy.
Thank you, and if you haven’t change your bulb yet I wish you the best of luck! 😀
How did you go?
Thank you for showing the driver side noone else did!
Thanks Edwin!

D best video for driver's side bulb replacement. Muy bueno
Hi Piri, thanks for the nice comment and thank you also for watching! ☺️
I have question, before replacing the HID Bulb did you have any issue with the indicator & the high beam? Because on my car, it the light is intermittent.
No, I didn’t have any issues with the indicator light, but the bulb I changed was intermittent.
Very helpful video 👍👏
So would it be the same process for the high beams?
Omg. Thank you so much. At first I ended taking wheel off to go from inside wheel well. Your video made everything super easy.
I'm so glad my video helped you! Thanks for watching!
Thanks, going to try this today

Great video 👍🏼👌🏼
Woo hoo! 🥳 Thanks!
How do you remove the wiring harness for the low beam bulb
Thank you! how much is the Light Bulb replacement?
You’re welcome! I’m not sure of the current price but I left a link in my video description!
Autozone said $159
Getting the bulbs in of that pesky socket took me literally almost an hour for both. It just didn’t feel right and was lose etc. It took me so long I have to do it again cuz it went out cuz I got my hand oil on it
Shes so cute with those green garden gloves
What about the whole headlight assembly?

The most beautiful eyes on UA-cam 😃
How do I unplug the HID DRL????
Are low beams and DRL different or the same …?
What about the other side ???? Thanks
Good job 👍
Hi Lo, thanks for watching!! 😉
4:09 A high-def borescope would be very helpful in a situation like this
Thank you sooo much! 🙏
Thank you!
After replacing passenger side bulb the drivers side went out one week later. Should replace both. 2007 is250 with zenon bulb.
I am waiting to see someone doing the signal lights clearly on the is250... All the front signal bulbs...
good video
Thank you!

Thumbs down on the design by Lexus…. Thumbs up for you young lady for the time and effort…..

what worries me is getting an electric shock. my Lexus IS 220d, it also has halogen headlights and one of these days .... i will need to change the lamp
Believe me, I was worried about the same!
Why did Lexus make it such a pain in the ass to remove the bulbs😂 on my Toyota Tundra I pop the hood and pop out the bulbs
Need one swapping the turning lights 😆 not a easy one
Damn so much work for a bulb
Yeah, we could say that about a lot of things! 😂
TY
How much was the bulb
I think it was around $50, but there are other options. The link to the exact one I purchased is in my description!
Awesome
This video is not complete and you know it, please revise the video on how to remove those two silver clamps
It’s a 10mm socket if anyone interested
You really have to watch out if you have HID headlights must wait 30 minutes or more after unplugging battery or turning car off they will shock you and send you into next week
I knew it You can Do it
Nice thanks. But you need to restore your headlights ;)
Thanks! I did restore the headlights and they look great!

the only thing is you should replace two bulbs in the same time... always guys, always
you should put your hair up
Umm...that's not a lowbeam, that's an HID Highbeam.
No it isn't.
