Thank you for the video! I successfully changed the low beam headlight on my wife’s 2010 IS250, based on your instructions. Saved me a ton of $$! Thank you again!
Thank you! This was like the 3rd video I watched to fix my father's headlight. This had the best info on actually installing the bulb in to it's location.
As an IS350 owner who has a cold air intake, and leaves all the engine covers off because they're stupid looking, this is going to take like 10min. Thanks for the vid. Now to find a battery that fits my JDM....sigh Also, OEM headlights are like $250ea (I'm in Canada too)....noooo thanks. I grabbed a two pack of DMEX D4S for $40 on Amazon; highly recommended on the Lexus forums
Very helpful, thank you. I’ve just completed the job & couldn’t have done it without your video. I agree with the other comments on the clips though: if they’re genuine Lexus ones, the middle pin should click down to release the whole clip prior to removal (then lift the centre pin back before refitting). To answer your ‘I don’t know why’ comment about a fixing missing on the left side of the air-intake, there should be a plastic trim-clip (i.e bolt on the right, trim-clip on the left) just like the ones holding down the cowlings. Thanks again!
Thank you! My 2010 350 driver headlight comes on for the first minute or so and then goes out until I turn them off and back on again. I was told this is just the bulb. About to change them now
You popping those covers off gave me anxiety lol it's easier to just pop the pins out one by one so they don't break lol but thanks for this video, we just got my sister a 2010 250 AWD and I'm sure the bulbs are original so I'll be replacing them with Osram nightbreakers.
My is 250 2008, bumper light just stop working I check the fuse hopefully I pull the right one ,and change but nothing works , what's my next move ? Love your videos ,I await your response 😊 thanks
Please don’t remove the plastic tabs like this with force. You will break the tabs and possibly the plastic covers. All you need to do is press the circle in the center of the tabs to make them release. The tabs are also reusable. Don’t think they’re one time use. Good video overall tho
As ever, great vid 👏 However, may I respectfully suggest you retitle your vid thus: “Replace Your Lexus IS250 & IS350 Headlight *Bulbs*!” Currently, the title implies it’s a how-to for the whole headlight unit. Thanks again for your IS vids 🙂
Warmed my car up went back inside to do a few things about 10 minutes came back outside and the drivers side low beam was completely out but it came back.. Ever since my afs light has been flashing would that be the cause of the afs is if the buld is starting to die?
It should work. If it doesn’t that mean something is wrong with the ballast or the wiring. Could also be a fuse, you are just gonna have to do some poking around.
Great video! Thanks for the upload. My question is about the HID headlights in my GS350. I’ve already swapped out the fog lights, turn signals, and DRL with LEDS. All that remains are the HiD lights that just doesn’t light up the road as nicely as the LEDs on newer cars. Would it be a pain to covert them over to a LED headlight setup? I was told it would be arduous considering the GS has projector lenses which don’t always perform well with LED replacements. Any thoughts? 🤔
Thanks brother! Yes I have heard similar things when trying to convert, honestly I have also heard a lot of people successfully do it. I was just simply look for a great tutorial that is specific for your car online I’m sure you could find them on the forms. It’s definitely doable, it’s just not so plug and play.
I swappedmy orginal lights bulbs out for one tha twere supposed to be brighter buit they barely worked and where so bad that last night I had to diove hom efrom work in the dark using myu fog lights hehe my bulbs are different they are H11s( which I find od beascue someone ttold me that the 06 had the D4s bulbs) , I am wondering if maybe I need to adjust the headlights which I have no clue on how to do also I think that it is possible tha tthey were not seated correctly in those side projectors, so I reseated the mand have to wait until tonmight to check it sucks beascue I have to do it on the side of the road hehe
I like your content. My comment wi not be relevant to this particular topic but here it is. I recently purchased a 2008 is250 with mileage below 100k. I am noticing white/ grayish smoke from the exhaust. I know these cars can have issues with oil burn. My question is if there is oil burn, could that cause smoking or not. I remember you mentioning that your 250 has some considerable oil burn, does it smoke at all.
It shouldn’t have considerable smoke coming from the exhaust. But I would do is make sure you do a full synthetic oil change on it, change the oil filter, and give it a good drive really hammer on it and get it very hot. This will help burn up some of the caked on gunk on your valves. Report back after this?

Glad it was helpful and welcome to the channel David :)

Some reviews on Amazon say that they don't last very long, is that true

Great video. I followed all the steps and it worked great! Saved me money - thanks! 😁👍
Glad it helped and welcome to the channel Mike!
Subscribed! Awesome vid. Clear, concise, no blab! blab! blab!
Thanks for the sub!

Exactly the video I needed! It's like you've read my mind. Great work !
Thanks :) if you have any questions on the install let me know! Goodluck

I always hate popping these damn clips lol. Nice if you have any questions during the install let me know but the video should cover everything :-)
Thank you very much for this video. This was perfect in helping me replace the HID low beam on my niece's IS250.
Glad it helped welcome to the channel!
My is 250 2008, bumper light just stop working I check the fuse hopefully I pull the right one ,and change but nothing works , what's my next move ? Love your videos ,I await your response 😊 thanks
Thanks friend. Are you sure you are replacing the right fuse?
Thanks! How long to wait for ballast discharge?
Push the clips down to take the covers off
Some of those are not easy to take it off. I have a tool to pull it off. Very easy. Won’t get out by just pushing. 😮

Good video overall tho
Good point Sarai thanks for the heads up :)
I read that 2011 IS250 models do not have HID but halogen bulbs, can I still put in these D4S bulbs?
Thanks! Followed your video and it was a success. Appreciate the video.
As ever, great vid 👏
However, may I respectfully suggest you retitle your vid thus:
“Replace Your Lexus IS250 & IS350 Headlight *Bulbs*!”
Currently, the title implies it’s a how-to for the whole headlight unit.
Thanks again for your IS vids 🙂
Great suggestion I’m going to do that right now!
It would help if ya pushed In the tabs on the clips to make removal easy
Can I use an LED headlights to replace my bulbs (low beam) ?
Warmed my car up went back inside to do a few things about 10 minutes came back outside and the drivers side low beam was completely out but it came back.. Ever since my afs light has been flashing would that be the cause of the afs is if the buld is starting to die?
What bulbs did you use?
Hey if I chance my headlight and it still not working what should I check for I have the same car but 2008. I will wait for your response thank u!

@@carswithsonduren thanks you 🙏
How about changing a high beam bulb? Is that the exact same way?
Very organized garage.
I want to replace my headlight assembly. For my 2010 Lexus iS250. which ones would you recommend to me please. I need an answer quickly. Anyone. Ty 🙏
Just got mine in but I got the 8000k shouldn’t be a issue should it? Amazon said it works for my vehicle at least lmao
Yep, won’t be an issue
@@carswithsonduren great and thanks for the quick reply man I appreciate that 🫡
@masonharkness6437 anytime I’m glad the video was helpful and welcome to the channel my friend :)
Thanks for the video. I have to replace bulbs on my 08-350.
Oh.. I removed the engine covers on mine. Looks better 😂
Anytime man and welcome to the channel! Glad the video was helpful.
Is this the same as 2012 Lexus is250c ?
Great video! Thanks for the upload.

Nice work!
Rookie question but does it have to be D4S or can it also be D2S?
I believe it can only be D4S
can you do a video on the front blinkers
I can see if I can do that next :-)
Can’t we use led after market bulbs instead of these aging hid ones ? Thanks
Indeed you can if you prefer that.
The socket on my is250c won’t lock when I put the bulb in correctly. Maybe I have to replace the socket.
Hmmmm. Maybe. Keep fiddling with it before giving up though.

Does it happen more in the cold? Probably just steam.
You can''t drive and have fun if you cannot see :)
My 2016 Lexus is200t
I took the headlight out completely and I see no socket to change the bulb ! They are projector headlights, anyone ???
You said you were going to do both lights, you only replaced one
It’s the same process for the other side, it felt irrelevant to repeat.
hope this video makes buddy afford a Mercedes jacket rather than that awful REDBULL jacket 🤢
Hahaha you are a savage 😂
Some better video would help. Can’t see a lot.
It needs a wash 🧼
How has your IS350 and IS250 been holding up?
IS350 is sold but we still have the IS250 and it’s about 350,000km on her now. Video coming soon on that update!
Why do you hate your engine covers and clips so much? How did they hurt you to deserve such poor treatment?
They did me wrong many years ago and I will never forget so I torture them accordingly.
