I have used washing machine motors on meat grinders, with a/c squirrel cages to make fans for working under equipment and for a forge blower, thanks for a new thread of thought to follow
I don't think if I'll ever go through this much trouble to shake a can of paint, but I like the idea, turning rotational motion into linear motion comes in handy.
All that hard work just to shake up some paint cans! Still it's a fun little project but I doubt that slide rail will survive very long at that high speed. I hope it inspires others to try fun projects like this (safely I hope). Keep up the good work.
When I was working I used a lot of spray paint cans. If you did not shake it enough some of the solid pieces of paint solids would plug up the nozzles. I had a lot of problems with that, one day I bought a case and ask them if the could shake them on their paint shaker. He shook them but not for long. All cans but 2 from that case, it had broken the tube inside. We were using them to mark logs in recovery studies. They were not wasted, we had to used them upside down. If we had wanted a nice paint finish, they would had been wasted but I sure never got them shaken again.
shaking them at the store is useless. all paints must be mixed before each use. If for nothing else for color to match there are no hard bits. Also cleare nozzle after each use thats where your bits are coming from.
I just strap a couple of cans to my German Shepherd dog and play fetch for a little while. That's much more fun and I didn't waste 2 1/2 hours building a can shaker after spending time & $$$ buying or searching for parts. GIVE THAT DOG A BONE !!!!😂☮️😘 PS... using a unsecured motor as a lathe, a wood chisel and loose wood block as a rest and tool I am surprised no injury occurred, then grabbing a drawer slide designed for ultra low speed and "occasional" use for a oscillating mechanism and the thought that you have to use a hell of a lot of spray cans to warrant the time and storage space for this seems like a dangerous and total waste of effort and time. But the idea itself isn't that bad but I'd look for different more durable materials and safer construction procedures.

Just one question: looking at your links to how to wire up different scenarios of motors, where do you buy all the little plastic wire connectors to make all the different connections?
I thing the idea is good but I feel you can do without the higher speed and the fancy bearings. Just use bolts with a smooth shoulder and a little grease. That will hold up for years and cut your costs in half, as well as shorten the build time. The drawer track is excellent for this purpose! Also do away with the full hole in the bracket because many cans have different size caps.
But that's half the fun! I would have primed and painted it with a high gloss enamel acrylic paint. Then boxed it in for safety using plywood with hinges on the top in back and the front on the bottom in case that renowned administrator and engineer of lucky mischief, Mr. Murphy should be tempted . Plexiglass would be even nicer for the top and front. Now's when we get real ornery! Cover the back panel with a mirror and put some two-way mirror film on the front and top inside. Stick some RGB or LED's in there and you have a interesting infinity shaker that modified a bit more could handle 1 gallon cans or one of the most unique martini shakers you ever saw.
