The ending to me was just how the American soldiers are treated. If they injured they get basically forgotten, having to fight for their medical benefits and can’t even afford good housing.
And all around the world wherever muslims have a sizeable population. They're kiIIing Hindus in Bangladesh, Pak, Afghanistan and Yazidis in Iraq, Syria
I think black mirror shows us social aspects of society revolving around technology that a technology made for and could be used for greater good is used by people to worsen the society Here not neccesarily a person is bad but the overall dynamic of the society gets hampers
Excellent analysis. The metaphor is very true to life, as you've explained. We are all conditioned by our programming, in this society, and the young even more so. It matches what I've seen and heard soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan describe. That they were hypnotised & brainwashed into thinking of the public in those countries being the enemy. Wicked, evil people who were a threat to the West, and our way of life. During their tours in those counties many, if not most, come to realise they've been hoodwinked and conned into killing innocent civilians, for corrupt motives, including the huge sums paid to the military industrial complex for the arms, supplies and equipment. No wonder a high percentage of veterans come back alcoholics and drugs addicts, as they fail to come to terms with the vile things they've done, and how they were tricked into evil actions by the profiteers. It's a very accurate, and sad reflection on the truth of war. How it's always been, currently is, and will be (with the brain implants). If only societies actually listened to those who are brave enough to speak up, about the realities of war - but hardly anyone wants to listen, wants to understand. We are all complicit in the evil. Many thanks 🙏
Is that factual, or just what you think, that most veterans believe they were "hoodwinked?" Hypnotized and brainwashed into what they thought about people they didn't know. It almost relieves them of all responsibility concerning their own intellectual cappacity. I'M a retired Marine. I understand the required mental and physical conditioning to prepare for combat. but "hypnosis and brainwashing" sounds a bit extreme. Do you know how many people joined or felt to become a part of the military as a reaction and in response to the events that took place September 11th, 2001? Do you know how many people believed the warning at the time that if we didn't go fight "them" over there, we would have to fight them here. Can you honestly imagine al-Qaeda, theTaliban, ISIS, or whoever you believed "they" were, deploying their forces to the US like we deployed against "them" (Sadam Hussein, the Saudi citizens, Israeli agents.) It doesnt matter. Pick one. Do you think we could not have successfully defended our country against them? Instead, how long did it take the Armed Forces of the US to deploy and declare victory in the War On Terror. WWIII. When we finally withdrew, were we successful? Whatever you think, it was just in time to become engaged in the War of Vengeance against HAMAS and the Palestinian people. Some view them as one and the same, HAMAS fighters/Palestanian civilians . The munitions the Israelis are using obviously dont make a distinction. They the people/civilians might as well all be roaches, bugs, or as Ben Dahan, Israeli Defense Minister in 2013 referred to them as "human animals" "To me, they are like animals, they aren’t human.” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant saying, in 2023, "We are fighting against animals." What happens to anyone else in the process of defense is justified. If your enemy is not human, you must do inhuman things to defeat them. Crimes against humanity are justified when it is an inhuman enemy. That doesn't require, hypnotism or brainwashing. It just takes believing. Semper Fi

I have a different opinion about the ending. Why would Stripe be coming home but still have his Mass activated? If the government is letting him back home what good does optical illusion do? Doesn't that just confuse him? I think Stripe was discharged right after the white room scene. I know the doctor told him two options, but I think he lied. He is actually humane. Remember the doctor mentioned everything has to be willingly and consent? So I think Stripe said NO to wipe his memory. The military had no choice but to discharged him since he is not gonna fight knowing what he knew. The "punishment" of his action is to live in reality where there is no gf/wife. To other soldiers who submitted to Mass, their reward is the daily dream of having sex/good time in their fantasy. I also think Stripe did had a wife. Judging from his attitude from the video recording he join the military AFTER he messed up his relationship with her.
I felt that the ending was him remembering false memories of home, and now chipless seeing the reality of his home. I feel like he didn’t take the first deal.

I like black mirror the more episodes i see the more it start to become my most favorite show. I however dont agree with the vid that the main theme is tech = bad. I think the main theme is the misuse of tech = bad.
That's actually what he said. He was making a sarcastic voice, so it may have been hard to catch first time watching; but basically, he argued that technology does not equal "bad" as many are led to believe. He further breaks this down by comparing the song "if anyone who knows what love is" is like a love letter of irony because the soldier singing it is misusing what was meant to be a beautiful song in the same way that humans mishandled technology that could have been used for the betterment of human kind. I hope this helps, have a nice day! :)
The GI bill to pay for college has been around since 1944, when College education was pennies to the dollar and stayed that way relatively until the late 90's. It was more a benefit, as opposed to handcuffs, though military employment has always been the majority draw regardless.
I really wish more would think for themselves using logic and reason evenly with your own convictions. But if you cant open your mind to see the reasons or validity in the opposing argument, then you’ll remain blinded. Logic and reason > emotion. I personally want everyone to be happy, free, and feel comfortable being who they want to be, but I also see that representing yourself in public with respect, doesn’t mean forcing others to abide by your choices. I don’t act the same around my coworkers and boss as I do with my friends, so be free and happy in your personal time please

Most likely because of the smell of blood, viscera, etc that human bodies would produce The people at the top could just disguise that by claiming that removing the sense’s primary use is to prevent the effects of some chemical weaponry or the smell of sulfur/gunfire.
I wonder why loss of sense of smell is one of the effects of CONVID fuckseen ; which was actively “ marketed “ in early 2020 as one of the CONVID “ symptoms”.
Unpopular opinion for the ending: Stripe could not have his MASS implant reset and the memories removed because the system works only if the person is willing or compliant. Instead of being imprisoned and forced to live with the full reality of the killings he committed, the military chose a more convenient and humane approach. They allowed him to believe that he was retired and placed him in an old home (this is what Stripe was willing to have). This spared him from the psychological torment of constantly reliving his actions. I see this as a way for the system to avoid making him suffer, as he was not inherently inferior or deserving of further punishment (a roach)-he was simply a tool used by the military, and manipulating his perception was an easier solution than making him face the truth.
fun fact, thats exactly what is / has been happening in the American armi and Media, dehumanized Afghan, Arab, Vietnamese, Somalians, Iranian and now Persians so the public don't care when they get killed in the wars that America rage against them for resources, I would say this episode is the most realistic one yet.

The ending to me was just how the American soldiers are treated. If they injured they get basically forgotten, having to fight for their medical benefits and can’t even afford good housing.
Love love love this series! I feel like I understand the concepts solidly then I watch your videos 🤣
Stahp it now!! Thoughtful social commentary about college debt?
Love to see it.
Isnt how many college students are supposed to pay the fees? By being recruited to the military to fight against the enemy in foreign countries?
It explains so well what's currently happening between Israel and Gaza
And all around the world wherever muslims have a sizeable population. They're kiIIing Hindus in Bangladesh, Pak, Afghanistan and Yazidis in Iraq, Syria
Exactly! I thought that the moment i saw this episode was blasting it all over facebook
never thought of this episode like that, great video
Thank you!
I'm binging your content. I really appreciate your pieces! they are really insightful and intelligent. keep it up!!
Awesome to hear, thank you!
I think black mirror shows us social aspects of society revolving around technology that a technology made for and could be used for greater good is used by people to worsen the society
Here not neccesarily a person is bad but the overall dynamic of the society gets hampers
Bro, that's just the discription of black mirror, whoch you see on netflix :D
All I learned from this episode was to read that contract, no matter how long it is. READ IT
Excellent analysis.
They the people/civilians might as well all be roaches, bugs, or as Ben Dahan, Israeli Defense Minister in 2013 referred to them as "human animals"
"To me, they are like animals, they aren’t human.”
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant saying, in 2023, "We are fighting against animals." What happens to anyone else in the process of defense is justified. If your enemy is not human, you must do inhuman things to defeat them. Crimes against humanity are justified when it is an inhuman enemy. That doesn't require, hypnotism or brainwashing. It just takes believing.

U Americans think there's only Afghanistan, Iraq outside US/Europe and only muslims live there.. while Hindus are being kiIIed in Pak, Afghan, Bangladesh by musIims around the year but u don't even mention them
@@anotherpointofview222Ur tactic of blaming the victims before ur sins can be exposed is very nice. Be ashamed of 7 October muslim
This episode may have been predictable but I like the metaphors it's using
Seriously one of the most twisted story lines from Black Mirror & I absolutely love it!
This video aged well
I’ve been skulking for this video for so long
your analysis was so well versed. i wish the masses would wake up to these ideas.
Thank you so much!
First watched this before the covid hysteria, and honestly, I liked it, but i would genuinely forget that it was a part of Black Mirror. Just watched it again, and I have a much deeper appreciation for it.
Mass wouldn't be able to affect him if he said no, they need his consent to mess with his brain, without it they would just kill him
I felt that the ending was him remembering false memories of home, and now chipless seeing the reality of his home. I feel like he didn’t take the first deal.
Your videos are making my day! Great find for me. I’m on a marathon. Keep it up, friend.
These are really good man! Great job! Keep em coming! I'm also interested in the other films and shows you've covered on your channel so far. Can't wait to check them out!
I've been waiting for you to explain this episode for a while! I the like the concept, but it lost me when they got to the Thanos excuse. I can't wait to see your ending explain of The Waldo Moment! The Waldo Moment is how Trump became president back in 2016.
Hope it was worth the wait! The Waldo Moment analysis is on the way!

amazing analysis of this episode which is my favorite by the way.
Thank you!

I've been watching black mirror for years aswell as your black mirror ending explained videos for years, but I've never taken the time to watch this episode I just watched men against fire and san junipero tonight and i was watching the san junipero ending explained and I was like damn this was made 3 years ago and somehow I clicked on this and it was only made 2 weeks ago and I was just watching your videos like a month ago 😂 thought that was kind of crazy if I had watched this earlier I wouldbe never seen this amazing ending explained but as always thanks for the great explanation 👍
@YungCautela may I introduce you to a period (.). That one comma in your sentence is quite lonely.
One of my favorite episodes. The ending made me sad...
I understood it when we saw the blond woman with the curls in the raincoat. I remembered her as the roach fleeing from Ray at the farm. I got it then. Amazing episode.
This one and the robot dogs episode were just too creepy, because i can see this happening irl in a not so near future. It will start in countries like China.
It's happening right now. We have robot dogs getting tested in NYC to work with NYPD. And if you really wanna make a comparison the roaches are all the people who haven't taken the you know what 🤔
@@craigg8574 people who haven’t taken the what?
Omg, metalhead is such a scary episode because it's not "boogeyman scary"; it's "based in plausible reality scary", which is more terrifying to me than anything.
@@dekunohero9822 Most likely the vaccines? I'm not exactly sure, but since this was a week ago, that's the best I can come up with.

i always come and watch your videos after finishing a black mirror episode
If you can avoid Season 5, try. If you haven't seen "Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too" you're far better off in life!
Gou have answered my prayers
Also first
Are they gonna do Black Mirror season 6 ?
2020 was season 6
Hopefully soon!
We are living it
Great episode. Great video explaining it
The GI bill to pay for college has been around since 1944, when College education was pennies to the dollar and stayed that way relatively until the late 90's. It was more a benefit, as opposed to handcuffs, though military employment has always been the majority draw regardless.
Great video!
Thank you!
Really dark episode of black mirror 🖤🖤 best anthologie serie's ever made 📺
I haven't watched Black Mirror, probably never will. I like these videos, though. I chose this instead of homework.
same 😂
You should definitely watch it, amazing show
It's a really good show. Ide say every episode are 9-10/10
We've been asking for this for almost like ... 1 year now ?! Jesus christ 😂 but the good thing is the archive is finally complete (i guess)
Hope it was worth the wait! Oh, and I still have to do The Waldo Moment!
One word, #PALESTINE vs the Orwellian states ✌️
It is real now
Lol your part about the higher education and joining the military to fix that issue is my life. Lol joined at 18 to get my school fully paid when I got out
I wonder why they would choose to have them lose their sense of smell.
Most likely because of the smell of blood, viscera, etc that human bodies would produce
The people at the top could just disguise that by claiming that removing the sense’s primary use is to prevent the effects of some chemical weaponry or the smell of sulfur/gunfire.
Or you know, so they don't get distracted. They are using them as weapons and not as humans
that was explained at the end. so they dont smell blood and shit.
I wonder why loss of sense of smell is one of the effects of CONVID fuckseen ; which was actively “ marketed “ in early 2020 as one of the CONVID “ symptoms”.
@@maurverngallard4607 shut up
Unpopular opinion for the ending:
Stripe could not have his MASS implant reset and the memories removed because the system works only if the person is willing or compliant.
This episode was one of the darkest yet in my opinion, this and crocodile top it off for me, I feel different after watching it, powerful episode
Good analysis!
Thank you!
Amazing analysis!
I don’t understand what happened in the end?
All that people need to commit the most terrible acts is a good reason, usually a moral one... like defending a relationship.
"military and personal***" as in personal propaganda. not personnel, as you read it. personal propaganda.
Usually it's "military and personnel"
Thank youu!! Tremendous content as always! 🔥🤩💯
This is even more important now with everything going on in Palestine
J’ai fait le même analyse et analogue à la situation de déshumanisation systémique.
yes how Palestinian musIims and musIims aroudn the globe altogether dehumanized jews
3:39 reminds me of that scene from walle where the woman sees real life for the first time and didn't even know they had a pool lol
fun fact, thats exactly what is / has been happening in the American armi and Media, dehumanized Afghan, Arab, Vietnamese, Somalians, Iranian and now Persians so the public don't care when they get killed in the wars that America rage against them for resources, I would say this episode is the most realistic one yet.
Stop kiIIing NonMusIims in Bangladesh, Pak, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq
I found it weird how his partner kept making sexual jokes during training.
A lot of food was wasted, thinking it had been contaminated by "The Roaches".
May the 18th on the recording, just 2 days after Hated in the nation. You also see MAAS signed off in Hated in the Nation. There was no way he could have known
This is a good criticism on racism too
Interesting response. Could you elaborate further?
@@jeanninebell7062 they are forced to see the roaches as monsters even if they are the same on the outside and they segregate the roaches to the periferic spaces and the doctor at the end even says that their culture brings homossesualism and degeneration just like they started talking about the Black and asian comunity in the beggining of the 1900 hundreds

Damn, so far, This is the most depressing episode of Black Mirror.
Shows how soldiers go to war and do evil things, but are just following orders
They call us blacks “roaches”this episode was deep for me as a black person.
Muslims call u that in Arab
Arquette attcked him emotionally and mentally that the only option for him to get out is to put back the Mass.
Arquette just spews more propaganda at Stripe about the “roaches” having bad DNA.
We never find out the true reason for the genocide… or did we?
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

This should be shown in the Philippines.
Why is this put through a speech synthesiser?
You are amazing
