First time i heard that song i couldn't get it.I was so negative i even got a lil angry for their choice to release it.Well within 48 hours Agnetha's disarmingly trempling voice had got me.The sound of hers while crooning softly... 'you're not the man you used to be, i let you down somehow'...was echoing in my mind like a shot to the heart. It had already, grown on me and made me wet eyed. This album is really very special.Such an emotional offer to us.
Bumblebee is so amazing beutifull and its a very strong messege for our world today..how our planet can change..Fridas strong voice is amazing angelic ! 💖✨️🐝🌻
I totaly agree with you and I think it is a WAKE UP call to stop treating our home planet the way we do loosing spices faster than ever in human history. Greetings from Slovenia
Ode to freedom is a breathtaking beautiful masterpiece .. Yes, you're right. The music makes you listen nd the more times you listen, the more you here. I think this is one of the best albums to come out in the last ten years from anyone nd thank god they still do their own thing.
I was able to see the "ABBA Voyage" Concert in London this past summer. --- AMAZING--- The tech blew My (very open) Mind Many times in the show. The energy in the room was soooooo Beautiful , Many spirits aligned through ABBAs Sublime Music.
Ode to Freedom is a Masterpeace and a beutifull messege to our world today..Freedom , peace and unity..love it! The Voage is a growner..it's so much to discover..ABBA is one of The greatest! What a beutifull gift to our world today 2022!🙏🏼💙💙💙💙✨️
It’s a stunning album. It took me a few listens to get into but it’s a gem. After 40 years, the took a gamble getting back into the studio, but they hit the jackpot! Brave move but so well done!
'Keep an eye on Dan' is about parental custody.Bjorns singing part has got some beautiful lyrics, words of tenderness and awareness about both his supposed son and his ex-wife who he still loves deep inside. They can only be clearly audible if you listen the song in the Dolby atmos system.Same case with 'Istill have faith'.You can hear vocal details and hidden words and harmonies there, that make it sound even more gorgeous.'Bumblebee' talks about a forthcoming ecological catastrophy.World with No bees is like a dead nature. She performs this so beautifuly as if she's singing a tale to a little child. "I sing this song with my heart' Frida stated in her BBC radio interview in Nov.'21.
All I can say is that Voyage is a high classical qualities of musicality, lyrics, and voices. All the songs bring their own stories and universes to explore, a true Voyage.
VOYAGE is a thoughtful, mature sophisticated album filled with wisdom, life experiences and ABBA's love in return to their loyal fans who hadn't gave them up.It's a gift. When Benny and Bjorn 'conviced' the ladies to join them in the studio and record together again, they confessed that due to their enthusiasm they had forgotten to test their voices if they could still ...sing!Last time they did it was in 1982,almost 4 decades back!Benny kind of got a little startled for some moment cause he didn't know what to expect. But since they closed the doors behind them and all 4 joined, it felt as if time had stood still. All the feeling came back the way it was then.As if something magical happened. So they moved on from the point they had left as if it was yesterday.Agnetha and Frida started harmonizing perfectly again and the guys felt relaxed, happy and overwhelmed. So do we...
40 years is a long time, but they have remained true to their quality, compared to the visitors who don't listen to an album from 40 years ago, I'm sure that if they wanted to appear in the charts that they would have achieved it and if so If there was still a hit parade on the radio, Abba would have had a say in the rankings.
It's not all Frida by any means. Agnetha has the lead on 'I can be that woman' and 'Keep an eye on Dan' It's the same on side one where they have an equal number of leads just like in the past where Benny & Bjorn made sure that the ladies had an equal number.
Can hear a little of The Eagles (Country tinged Rock) in 'I Can Be That Woman' plus there is a definite nod to Roxette in there too. Such powerful singing, that belies their ages, in 'No Doubt About It'. There is that old maxim that says 'Always leave them wanting more' and I do wish 'Ode To Freedom' carried on a while longer with some choral layers to go with that orchestration. Is this the recording end for ABBA? Björn likes to say 'Never say 'Never' and Benny reckons only 'the girls' could twist his arm. Seeing them in interviews, 'the girls' seem quite keen. These four folks were born to make great music together.
Great that you went through the whole album 😀. It's even 40 years since their last album and 39 years since their very last recording "The Day Before You Came". But ABBA had their last US Billboard Hit in 1980 with "The Winner Takes It All" and had their main revival in the US with the Mamma Mia Musical and Movies which were more uplifting and with pure Pop vibes. Benny and Björn produced their last Pop Album in 1993. After that they wrote the very epic and orchestral Musical "Kristina Från Duvemåla" which also included Swedish folk music inspired orchestration. Benny is actively playing live with a folk music Band called Benny Anderssons Orchester and he has written more music for the stage, for movies, etc. That is why this ABBA album is a mixture of Popsongs and more orchestral or folk music inspired songs. It is a voyage through the last 40 years of music making from Benny and Björn. I can understand that for some people it is hard to digest initially, but with repeated play, some songs really grow on you. Sure in 1979, ABBA were ahead of the Pop Music World with their Gimme Gimme Gimme, Lay All Your Love On Me, etc. songs. The new album is not the future of Pop because Benny himself said that he is not able to reproduce modern Pop like Drake, etc. He only can do it out of his experience. But it seems that ABBA did right to follow their "retrostyle" because in the end, ABBA always went their own way. One point about their voices: One music Analyst investigated, if they used Autotune on the album and he came to the conclusion that Agnetha and Frida are still Studio singers near perfection. He didn't detect any Autotune, just some Pitch adjustment which were mostly only used to let it sound more modern. Incredible!
I remember when in 1982 ABBA tried to make their ninth album, but only managed to make a few songs; and in the last interviews They were seen quite tense instead now ABBA started with only two songs in 2017/2018 and finished making the full album "Voyage" in 2021 It is true that the pandemic delayed the original project, but it also changed the atmosphere between Them and just as "The Visitors" is their darkest album, "Voyage" is the album of Light, the result of the harmony they recovered when They returned to the studio together after 35 years. That's why I agree with you a lot, Voyage is a fruit of ABBA's health in its path and loyalty to its values; and an unprecedented testimony to the world (and not just a historical fact in music) "Voyage" will probably be the official farewell to ABBA, this time with all the Fab Four from Sweden together and united at the opening of the ABBA Arena in London on May 26 ABBA already takes its place on the Podium of the Greatest Groups in Rock & Pop Music History
Thank you very much for completing the review of ABBA's Voyage album with your warmth and concepts, both musical and life itself and human relations this side B has the most dramatic side, compared to side A and it's quite interesting (although I prefer side A) I can be that woman (7pts) the most dramatic of the album Agnetha shines in her sensitive voice Keep an eye on Dan (8pts) a great song, with the final chord like in S.O.S. Bumblebee (6pts) it is nice No doubt about it (7pts) beautiful surprise: the ladies still rock very well Ode to Freedom (8pts) a symphonic closing of ABBA to the album and probably to Their career
Great interpretations of the album, yeah, it reflects four humans whose lives were once closely knit together, and now they're looking back and reflecting on their lives with all the human emotions entailed in that.
You did a very good reaction to this fantastic album regarding the lyrics, but I would have expected more about the voices and their arrangements from you as a voice coach.
I enjoyed watching your reaction to Voyage album by ABBA. That song Bumblebee seems to get stuck in my head after listening to it. Please react to all of the other ABBA albums. Do it the way you reacted to Voyage, side a then side b on each vlog.
"I Can Be That Woman” is in essence a country song, Björn mentioned as a shout-out to country singer Tammy Wynette. Some speculate is about her tragic life and that's why the dog's name is “Tammy”.
Both Frida and Agnetha's voices have aged which of course is understandable. Agnetha's voice seems a little more fragile than Frida's. Frida's solid voice is still there. Agnetha seems to struggle at time with the higher pitches.
How are you? Hope you will react to Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø's new song "The Journey". She wrote the lyrics with her husband. It's an amazing song and video. ( ua-cam.com/video/VA6T9vrgqQI/v-deo.html )
If you read the synopsis of all songs on the Apple online player, I can be that woman is NOT about ABBA previous couples. It was written about Bjorn's close friends whose couple suffered in marriage relationship due to alcoholism and stress. In addition, Keep an eye on Dan is also NOT about ABBA, but based on a hypothetical scenario of a divorced couples' child custody. Bumblebee on the other hand is about climate change and how it affects bees and environment. No Doubt about it, again, is NOT about ABBA, but about a hypothetical scenario whereby a woman comically confesses to her petty small everyday's mundane mistakes while the goodhearted man tries to understand and pacify her. In one of Frida's interview, she added that the song should be taken from a comical point of view, rather than a serious one. Finally, Ode to freedom is about the importance of human freedom in this worldly life. Conclusion: The Voyage album tackles a mixture of fun and serious stuff. Only the first comeback song, I Still Have faith in you is about ABBA. The other 9 songs are all about general scenarios and issues in life. Bravo to ABBA for sounding mature in tackling all current issues in this world, while still sounding ABBA in accomplishing it. Millions of ABBA fans rated Voyage as an exclusive and exquisite ABBA album, special in it's own way, without having to compare it to their past albums. Oh, here's the official break up on who was on lead vocals on which song: 1. I still have faith in you - Frida on lead vocals. Agnetha joins in unison and harmony. Benny and Bjorn provide backing vocals. 2. When you dance with me- Agnetha and Frida sing in harmonies. The four of them also provide backing vocals. 3. Little Things - Frida and Agnetha sang in unison and harmony 4. Don't Shut Me Down - Agnetha on lead vocal with backup harmonies from Frida. Benny and Bjorn provide backing vocals. 5. Just a notion- Frida and Agnetha sang in unison and harmony. Benny and Bjorn provide backing vocals. 6. I can be that woman- Agnetha on lead vocal with backup harmonies from Frida 7. Keep an Eye on Dan- Agnetha on lead vocal with backup harmonies from Frida. Benny and Bjorn provide backing vocals. 8. Bumblebee - Frida on lead vocal with backup harmonies from Agnetha 9. No Doubt about it - Frida on lead vocal with backup harmonies from Agnetha 10. Ode to freedom- Benny Bjorn Agnetha and Frida sang and provide backing vocals.
Can you pls react to: Michael Jackson - We Are The World (Studio version only with Michael) his voice is soo angelic, It‘s interesting and btw love your page ❤️🙏🏼
"Voyage" is ABBA's first studio album in forty years, not thirty.
I could be that woman is one of The strongest storytelling ballads of Agnetha in all time..so many layers of feelings in her voice...Love it!

This album from start to finish is master pease I think it's so different from old abba stuff .

Another Fun Fact: Benny Anderssons song "Tröstevisa" is the most played song in Sweden at funerals.

Dear! Go concert to ABBA Arena, to London! It is an amazing and unforgettable experience! The one who shed many tears there recommends!
I Can Be That Woman has a tale about alcoholism within it, with phrases: rock bottom, wasted and drunk littered through it.
"I Can Be That Woman” is in essence a country song, Björn mentioned as a shout-out to country singer Tammy Wynette. Some speculate is about her tragic life and that's why the dog's name is “Tammy”.
