20 something years ago, this song legitimately saved my life. My life at the time was particularly cruel, and filled with extraordinary abuse, and I had reached the point where suicide felt like the only escape option for the hell I was in.
While I was preparing, this song came on, and for whatever reason it resonated with me. It felt like the song was talking directly to me, and I just started crying, just absolute dirty crying. I curled up in a ball on my bathroom floor and put the song on loop and I must have dirty sobbed for an hour until my eyes hurt, trying to convince myself not to go through with killing myself.
This song coming on at the right moment is probably the only reason I'm still alive. For years afterwards, whenever I got close to giving up, I would put this song on.
It took several years but I finally escaped the situation I was in. And while my adult life was often pretty rocky, it was never as bad as it was when I was trapped. And fast forward, I met my partner in 2014, and today I am overwhelmingly happy and a person who everyday is grateful to be alive.
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this song.

My daughter was not even two years old when our doctor told us that she was probably autistic. Even though I had suspected that for awhile, it still a shock to hear someone else say it. When my wife and my daughter and I got back into the car to go home that day, this song was playing on the radio, and it just seemed like exactly what we all needed to hear at the time. Its lyrics are so perfect for a kid on the spectrum, in fact, that I still think of it as the "autism song" to this day.

2001. My dad was still alive. So was my in laws, our 2 dogs, and my wife and soulmate. Everything and everyone is gone now and Im alone with our last little rescue dog and our big dog. Both will be gone one day too then Im truly alone. Hearing this song takes me back to days long gone and amazing life filled with fun and worry free days.

Was crying from an anxiety attack so I listened to this. Still crying, but it's from relief now instead of anxiety. This song feels like it reaches into my heart and scoops out all the bad feelings. I won't say it cured my depression and anxiety, but it was definitely a puff of fresh air from the stifling emotions.
