Dr. Marik is an accomplished physician with special knowledge in a diverse set of medical fields, with specific training in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Neurocritical Care, Pharmacology, Anesthesia, Nutrition, and Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He is a former tenured Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, Virginia.
In January 2022 Dr. Marik retired from EVMS to focus on continuing his leadership of the FLCCC and has already co-authored over 10 papers on therapeutic aspects of treating COVID-19. In March 2022 Dr. Marik received a commendation by unanimous vote by the Virginia House of Delegates for “his courageous treatment of critically ill COVID-19 patients and his philanthropic efforts to share his effective treatment protocols with physicians around the world.”
In this conversation at the FLCCC conference, Dr. Marik and I discuss fraud and corruption in medical institutions, as well as the distrust in Big Pharma after the pandemic. Recently, there was a huge win for the FLCCC regarding Ivermectin: x.com/Covid19Critical/status/...

I agree. However, I did listen to an interesting piece by a doctor who was a , ah geez what do they call them again, a kind of professional witness who knows a lot about a given field (?), anyway this was in a massive trial against i think Bayer. Anyway, he was talking about how pharmaceutical companies can and very much do manipulate research and studies to their own ends and how not even researchers can even get at the real studies and results on a drug because it's buried so deep. So I've known about this for a while, but this Paul Marik guy still sounds more than a bit extreme.

As a clinical researcher of 25+ years, there are so many gross generalizations made in this episode that are too broad sweeping just to paint an inaccurate picture of the pharma/biotech world as a whole. While it’s true that many pharma/biotech execs, marketing and sales people, and publication teams twist and torture data to reflect incorrect or misleading outcomes, there is valid, beneficent, reproducible data and clinical trials and researchers leading those efforts. Those of us actually doing the research see the true data as it’s collected but then have to watch as the management teams and even the regulatory agencies contort it into palatable, marketable crap. That said, kudos for calling out the COVID vax trials (which any true researcher worth their salt could see through!), but it’s disappointing to hear all research and trials called fraudulent.

He took it easy on Remdesivir. Clinicians were adamant that it shouldn't move to human trials because of high toxicity. The Chinese did a trial and cancelled it after 3 weeks because it was the most toxic drug they had ever tested.
Gain of function research isn't necessarily weapons research, but that's entirely a matter of intent The process is identical. What I don't understand is why they would do bioweapons research in the country most likely to take what they learned and use those weapons against us.

My biggest fear when I got Covid was that 1) I would be taken to hospital and 2) there I would be given Remdesivir against my will.
Fortunately, I managed my „flu“ at home with hot ginger-honey tea, chicken soup and a special herbal remedy that I always use for coughs and colds.

    • @GreenBeetle
      @GreenBeetle 2 місяці тому +1

When it was recommended we gave the 5 day course of remdesivir to many hundreds of covid patients outside of the icu with no serious side effects or issues. We had to stop it rarely for elevated liver enzymes or creatinine which caused no long term damage, these levels returned to normal. There are lots of independent studies on its use with variable results in efficacy and possible safety issues in critically ill, highly comorbid patients where the untreated mortality and complications rate was very high already. But some studies showed a significant survival benefit in these patients. This gentleman has put together a simplistic conspiratorial narrative that preys on people’s mistrust and ignorance. Again, that’s not me defending pharma, pharma and the fda have issues. I think he is right to point that out but he’s dramatically overstating his case for attention. For example there is no good evidence for a link between statins and dementia but copious evidence it statins have no effect or a slightly beneficial effect.
We should all be very skeptical of pharma and the fda but eventually evidence for his claims is needed. Peter’s willingness to take everything he says at face value is frankly disturbing.

Peter is a great advocate of setting up new institutions to replace those who's integrity has been compromised.
A new organisation has been created in Australia to look after the interests of doctors who refuse to follow the edicts of government.
The Australian Medical Association (AMA) banned very safe and effective repurposed drugs that were proven to provide relief from the effects of Covid 19. So the Australian Medical Professional Society (AMPS) has been set up to provide advice, advocacy and professional insurance to those who refuse to follow the AMA's dictats.

I took Zoloft for about 6 months in 2002 and Lexapro for about a year in 2018. Both are SSRIs, and both gave me tremors, and a few less disruptive side effects, which made me self-conscious and I was happy to get off them. But I was 22 and 38 respectively and I don't think I was taking relatively high doses of either. I imagine the side effects would have been worse, or different ones altogether, if I was much younger. Parents should get really informed before consenting to their kids taking SSRIs.

The corruption in medical publishing is well-known within academia and not hidden. I stook waiting for an elevator once at my previous university... 2 pulmonologists stood next to me, also waiting. One of them started talking about his "authorship" of an upcoming journal article focused on a new drug being developed/pushed by pharma, and had no shame in stating they were writing the article but putting his name on hit. It's a win-win: pharma gets to publish in top-tier journals & gain credibility by giving granting authorship to recognized research docs in the field. The doc gets the CV-boost of the article without any of the work.

If you are on statins because you have high cholesterol, pay to have a CT scan of your coronary arteries for calcium build up.
They will rank the degree to which your heart's arteries are blocked.
Statins caused me to have alarming and painful spasms 'rippling' up and down the major muscles in my legs.
Calcium scans rank patients 0 = no blockage, 10 = get this patient to the operating theatre.
My score was zero, and has been for the past five years since ceasing statins.
I pay $200 every five years to keep tabs on how my ticker is going.

I've been on and off the same SSRI for almost 20 years - ive been my own long term test subject, and it unequivocally DOES help my particular anxiety/ocd tendencies.
it doesn't come without a risk/benefit assessment, and one of the listed possible side effects is suicidal ideation, which doctors monitor you for closely when you begin medication.
To be fair I've been the one requesting my prescriptions, because it works so well for me - I've had to fight doctors for it.
It concerns me when people completely disqualify the beneficial aspects of a drug.

He's going off Eli Lily's own data, which was leaked about 8 or 10 years ago. Prozac was 2% more effective than an enhanced placebo (placebo with effects so you feel like you took something), which was well within the margin of error. And most psychiatrists understand it doesn't do anything. The science is bad - compared to assuming fevers are caused by an aspirin deficiency. It does work for some people, and lots of people say it makes them feel better so they keep prescribing it. Glad you are one of the lucky ones.

Ouch, Peter, you have Marik saying some crazy shit, and you just seemed to soak it all in with very little questioning, steel-maning, etc... This reminds me of the time a few authors submitted some absurdly nonsensical articles to peer-reviewed grievance-studies journals, and those article were accepted and published. Do you remember that?
This time it’s you who got punk’d.
Yes, the pharmaceutical industry (the whole medical industry) has problems-lots of money to be made leads to problems in every industry-but I’m sure you can find someone less nutsy-conspiratorialist to discuss them.
A couple of things to clue you in to the problems with Marik. 1) He has a few tells, the clearest being that whenever he says “We know that…” a lie is about to follow. 2) Whenever you meet a person who says that everyone else is a psychopath, such as Marik, then it’s almost certain that they themselves are the psychopath.

Obviously correlation is not causality but there's a clear correlation in deaths by age according to rollouts of vaccines in Brazil for example. Oh Peter, I felt that last part I really did because I find myself there a lot as well. Unfortunately this is only a drop in the bucket of the f*ckery that’s been going on. I watched a documentary a bit ago on the anthrax jab that was forced on the military and I was just appalled by what I heard/saw. You can probably find it searching the 2 words if you want to know the details.
There’s a guy that is Canadian that created the documentary Cult of the medic called David Whitehead and boy does he do some in-depth well sourced documentaries that are just amazing. It is not saying medics are part of a cult either but it in part shows convincing evidence that suggest that is how the medical field kinda came to be. It’s hard to really explain as it’s a long series of I believe 10 episodes so far. It’s free to watch though so I highly recommend folks check it out. I think once someone watches the first episode they’ll be hooked and it’s all readily available information which he is transparent on.
