When I do a waist band I sew down the seam allowance to the skirt at the top on the back side. Then I fold in the ends to the length I want. Then I top stitch the front of the waste band. This avoids me not pinning and/ sewing in the wrong spot. And 5:51 then fixing. But either way works. Love this skirt.
