This was an award winning gin BEFORE the celebrity involvement. By now the production has probably moved out of Oregon to a larger Diageo facility. I would not be surprised if the flavor profile has changed as well.
I can say now that Aviation came to Europe. Aviation is still made in Oregon (not even Ryan Renolds is Dumb enough to fuck with EU advertisement and place of origin laws).
personally i like bourbon and scotch, literally just went to CVS Pharmacy and got a bottle of Aviation Gin an hour ago and poured myself a glass over ice, first time ever having gin, and i absolutely LOVE it so far
I'm a whiskey guy also and randomly picked up a bottle and am loving it over ice. I've bought dozens of other gins and always used them in cocktails, this is the first that I'm enjoying on its own
So nice to hear Scapegrace getting a shout-out. My favourite gin and it is made in New Zealand! Try the black with east imperial grapefruit tonic (or soda).
I would agree with you. I don’t think it’s bad. I just don’t think it does much for a cocktail! For me it’s very much a middle of the road gin. Possibly good for a G n T. But just meh otherwise. I’m a petite person and that bottle is super cool looking but awkward to pour from. I can’t imagine using it behind the bar much. I made a gin Daisy with it on my channel. Meh.
Thank you my friend!! That really makes me happy to hear! 😁 Glad you enjoy my channel. Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions of what you'd like to see!
Lui I actually like this Gin is some lighter gentler cocktails but overall I am a huge fan of getting a big punch of Juniper in Gins. Having said that I love many craft Gins. This Gin wouldn't go in a cocktail like a Negroni but I have had had some tasty cocktails with Aviation Gin. It actually didn't do too bad in a Bees Knees. But it isn't a Gin I use often. Not bad but a bit soft and mild for me. Oh wow you chose a Bees Knees!! I love that!! :-) I like a much more powerful Gin - yes love Scapegrace and St. George as well - the London Dry St. Georges. I really like the people who make St. Georges. Overall I am not a celebrity spirit fan. It's all about the quality for me. Cheers and I'd grab a Beefeater for some terrific cocktails over an Aviation Gin. Now I wish we could get a hold of some Three Fold Gin from Australia - Steve the Barman - I hear it's terrific. Citrusy and I do like that but oh do I love my strong London Dry Gins!! 🙂
Aviation gin isnt my favorite. Really lacking in flavor as you said. Its very close to just vodka. I think it has a metallic taste as well. I think for gins in the price range brokers has aviation beat.
@@Lui_Fern Also... years ago while looking for some orange liqueur I ran across some Cherry Marnier Liqueur! OMG! It was so good i went back and bought his last two bottles. Delicious! Problem is... I have not found any state side since. Seen it for sale in Canada though. If you can find some... Get it!
If your into mainly citrus flavored Gin then save the money & just get vodka. Not sure how this would stand up to Tonic? Just my thoughts, vodka tonic is boring.
It's a good Gin...better than Bombay Gin for sure. But in Canada it's like $45 a bottle for a 750ml. I just don't think it holds a candle to Beefeater Gin that's like $30 a bottle. I ended up infusing the rest of the bottle with Mango because it wasn't really doing it for me. I guess it's a good Gin for people who don't like Gin? But that's just my take and my taste in booze isn't the same as everyone else's.
I call these kinds of alcohols 'toolbox booze' They are cheap for their quality and a little mild so you can play with it and use it for pretty much drinker.
i think along the lines of celebrity spirits its pretty good though not to say theres much of a bar but id rather support this one than some of the others
@@dnacheezit i haven't yet actually. I've heard a lot about it and apparently it's a Brazilian gin which is interesting to me but I just haven't tried it yet. Please let me know what you think of it when you try it!
Honestly, it's kinda trash in my opinion. Definitely worth the 20 bucks though. I guess I'm just spoiled though and I also like my Gin to taste like a Christmas tree smells
"Owned by Ryan" is a bit of a misleading lie. Davos owned the majority stake of the brand, which they recently sold to Diageo. Gin it self is pretty mediocre for the price.

This is by far my favorite gin! Absolutely love it, super smooth and great bottle design and marketing!
The marketing is indeed great, but the other things, they're fine but nothing too special. Certainly nicer than many I've sampled in the past.
I like the bottle design and my friend absolutely loves Aviation. Oh, and Fever Tree is the best tonic indeed.
I'am tasting this gin since the beginning. Absolute masterpiece. I have compare this gin to 300 different gin's - Aviation is the no .1
It’s a great gin to introduce people. Not overpowering. Better into than Gordon’s. That’s what my dad drank. Turned me of gin for decades

"gets lost in this cocktail". My words exactly. I drink Beefeater and Schweppes tonic water, and enjoy the bite.
I tried it in a clover club and greatly enjoyed it

Its okay. My favorite gin is Plymouth. I sometimes sub Barenjager honey liqueur in place of the honey syrup in a Bees knees or other cocktails.
Interesting! I need to try that barenjager sub!

No rocks please 🙏
If your into mainly citrus flavored Gin then save the money & just get vodka. Not sure how this would stand up to Tonic? Just my thoughts, vodka tonic is boring.
The fundamental mistake is that you put the liquor first and then ice. It's always ice first
I got to taste it at a fancy restaurant here in Norway as they don’t sell it in liqour stores yet. Was absolutely amazing

That's a pretty cool concept hahaha i like that!
Is there a difference between the old Tom gin in the yellow bottle and the silver bottle?
Can you please review James Gin (James May from Top Gear / Grand Tour) Asian Parsnip or American Ramstud?
It sounds boring. At the base price point, I like Beefeater. If I'm paying more, my favourite is No. 3 from The Netherlands. It's just beautiful.
I think the best gins out there are Brooklyn Gin and Juniper Grove Atrium
Haven't tried either of those but I'll be on the lookout for it

Use this in a negroni if you wanna highlight the vermouth... Aviation in classic cocktail proportions take a backseat to anything its mixed with.
I prefer Soda water to tonic. Tonic makes me ill.
Fords gin is better for cocktails however I am diabetic and like gin neat
Aviation his is a neat sipper if you enjoy a refreshing lift
Monkey 47 is my gin of choice.

How about 32 dollars in Tulsa today
