- Fall of 2023 is here and the weather has cooled down. I can enjoy being in my garden again. Now it is time to deal with the activities that I put off doing in the summer. Here's how my plants are doing as well as join me as I tackle some tasks in my backyard.

All your Cacti and Succulents are looking AWESOME Ana :-D I think the cactus at 7:10 is a Gymnocalycium saglionis, its so good to be doing cacti and succulent jobs at this time of year and thats wonderful the temps have cooled down in Vegas, and WOW at the size of your Austrocylindropuntia, thanks so much for sharing the awesome update with us Ana, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER to Las Vegas for a fantastic Tuesday XXXX
Hey Lyn, You and I both were fascinated at the 7:10 cacti. What do you think? Is that hole it's growth habit or is it a mutation?
@@solarwinds- Hi Marie :-D the hole is amazing to see, I have not seen this happen before I think it may be a mutation, the cactus looks healthy and I wonder if it will grow a pup/s from around the top of the hole, it looks so unique XXXX
Awesome video, Ana. I’ve got lots to do before to colder weather sets in. My plants will get one more watering next week, though. Been busy this week potting everything up that’s in the grow tent, finally lol. Thank you for sharing with us as always, Ana. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜☕️
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing cactus plants lovely collection beautiful
My caffee just got done your upload timeing is spot on
Las Vegas weather is perfect for your agaves & cacti!😊
Nothing more satisfying than a good tidy up. Great idea to let the weeds cover over the cactus to give it protection, and even better that they were so easy to pull!
VERY glad fall has arrived, or at least a southwest fall. 🍂 🌄 Can’t wait to start working on getting my cacti and succulents back in shape! Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you so much !
I feel you on summer, it has been brutal in Texas as well. We went something like 7-8 weeks without any rain. It has finally rained a bit and we are down in the 90s now... and yes, regular hot in instead of super hot does feel different!
Regular hot vs super hot 😄🥵 lol!
I love your cacti garden! It looks beautiful. Your cacti collection is amazing ❤💕
Thanks Emily. I admire your backyard, too!
Here in Wisconsin we have already had some nights in the upper 40s and some days it barely got up to 70. Looks like a warm up again going in to October. Have been getting my room in the basement with grow lights ready to move plants indoors for the winter. Makes me sad..................NOT a fan of winter at all and would prefer to hibernate until its over.
Everything is looking very beautiful!
Here in the mid-west we have been going down to the mid 60’s at night and staying around high 80’s. Should be getting a little 🌧️ tomorrow so I will let be the watering for 5:25 my 🌵
I envy you your cacti. I just started to keep cacti and I'm not sure about watering. I live in Florida and it seems it quite hot most of the year, especially this year. I keep my cacti in my back porch which is hotter than the outside. You have taught me so much about cacti and I appreciate you and your advice. Thank you.
Beautiful cacti!! 🌵🏜️🌵
На моих кактусах есть такие красные коробочки с семенами.
Благодарю вас что делитесь опытом.
Привет из Сан Марино 🇸🇲
Nice one Ana 🙂 Lot to do here too, we got caught out by the sudden cold last december 😨🌵
Soo beautiful 😍🌵❤
Hi Ana! Your cacti look great👏😃. And so interesting the ones with odd growth, really amazing how strong they are🌱. Sorry for not being active lately on UA-cam. I was dormant like my cacti😅. I'm really happy to watch tour videos again. Love from Spain 💞
Hi Vanessa! No need to apologize. I appreciate you and your support. Hope you are well and safe!
Great video. I gave away 7 of my cactus plants. I don't care for the Opuntia types. But they grew like crazy from the rain water. And my Echinopsis has a lot of growth from the rain but no flowers yet! These are some very interesting plants!!❤️❤️
Opuntias are not for everyone. I myself am trying to limit my Opuntias. They have beautiful flowers but they take up so much space.
I went all out this past week and bought 3 mexican fence post cuttings ,2 montrose peruvian apple cactus cuttings, 2 golden torch cuttings, 2 silver torch cuttings, and 2 regular peruvian appls cuttings. All are from diffrent mother plants so i can produce seeds eventually. Im in So Cal so its pretty warm most of the year. Cant wait till spring to ses results
So Cali! You are in the land of milk and honey. You should have no problem growing any type of cacti and succulents. Enjoy and good luck on your cuttings. 😉👍🏼
@@CactusCaffeine yes it is easy to grow them here....Thank you! Love your channel. Has helped me learned ALOT!
Hi Ana, your hollow cactus looks like a gymnocalycium saglionis. Thank you for your videos!
Oh thanks for the gymno ID! 😊👍🏼
Very interesting vid Ana especially the famous 7:10 cacti. It's got a hole, right in the middle of things. I wonder, is that the growth habit of that species or is it a mutation? I'm asking Lyn of Desert Plants of Avalon too. You have such a green thumb. I tell ya, how amazing that you created your own Aloe cultivar between the Aloe Oik & Lizard Lips. It's so pretty. Please do keep us posted on it's colors in the fall. I too am experiencing relief from the heat. I lost so many trees. They all died. Our temps were at 108 - 110. However sense the humidity was so low ,13 - 18%, it was not hard on me, just my plants. I didn't mind the heat. In fact I went for walks to enjoy the arid air. That told me I probably WILL be happy living in the desert. I plan to move to Tucson now that I'm retired. Well, TTFN (ta ta for now). Enjoy the wonderful Autumn weather (my fave season).
Have you decided where you will move yet? If you don’t mind the heat, then you may enjoy the desert. Get ready for pollen allergies 🤧 though. Hopefully you don’t get bothered by them.
No decisions yet, originally it was Tucson but I'm concerned the migrant situation may be a daily issue for me. I have been to Las Vegas & I loved it. Beautiful scenery everywhere I drove & you can't get more cosmopolitan than LV. Plus the housing is cheap. Tucson has BIG problems, bad roads, expensive housing, high crime, higher than LV. Still investigating. Hoping for Tucson.@@CactusCaffeine
I have that mini optunia cacti on my porch right now. It's a really cool shade of purple like you showed in your video. I cannot wait to see it grow like yours. I think I bought mine at Aldi. A lot of my cacti came from there, surprisingly.
Yes, this Opuntia looks great when cold-stressed. I wonder how its flowers look like. It grows pretty fast when planted in the ground or in a big pot. Good luck on yours!
Looking good ! Fun to see your collection. Hope you have a great fall 🙂
So beautiful plants 🎉 I like your channel 🎉 and subscribed
Thank you for your kind words!
Love ur outdoor garden Ann, ur cactus plants always look so nice an healthy!
Thank you ☺️
🌵
Loved this video
Hi Ana, i enjoy your videos. They are always so informative. I know you mentioned you are watering once a week now. How about your cacti that are in the ground? Once a week also? I am in California zone 9b and we are very dry still with temps in 80s during the day and low 60s/upper 50s at night.
Yes, I water all at the same time so they all get once a week watering right now. But our days were still in the 90’s. Next week we will start our cool down so that watering schedule might change still. Thank you for appreciating my videos. 😊
That cactus with hole is gymnocalycium saglionis
Oh thank you for the ID
You're like the Cacti Fairy Godmother! They love you, they are all thriving and I'm so jealous! I really enjoy your videos. Always so helpful. I've learnt so much from you. Your videos are one of the only reasons I come to youtube!! 🌵💕🫂🌼
So nice of you, thank you 🙂
Hi Ana, I'm curious about how long it took your Astrophytum shown at the approx 3 minute mark to grow to that size from golf ball size?
My estimate is around 6 years. 😉
Ate anna i had 4 cacti casualties huhuhu they rotted because of too much rain and kokonti ang sun 🙄🫣 But it’s ok may reason na ako bumili ng mas madami hahahaha
Haha. I like your positive attitude. 😊👍🏼
Everything looks great! It looks like your son has lost his claim for equal space.... maybe he will grow out of it.
My son is now bigger and spends more time infront of the computer 🖥️ 😩 I’d rather that he be in the backyard. But the backyard space battle is now just between my husband’s hobbies and mine. 😂
Are theyre cactus for 4 season weather.
There are some Opuntia and Cylindropuntia that can take extreme winter cold and summer heat. Just keep them from getting too wet.
@@CactusCaffeine okay Thank you. Can you maybe make a Video about those one day?
