As a Fuel EXe 9.8XT owner, this was interesting and informative, thanks for posting!
Going to try this myself. I’m 190 lbs and ride technical trails (blue to black) that are 6 miles per loop with about 300’ of elevation so I’m curious to see if I can make the entire ride without completely losing the battery 🪫 power.

Hi Dude. Nice vid. I too have just purchased the new Trek EX8e and when I was fitting the invis frame kit I took off the bottom cover and noticed a metal slide bolt thingy on the under side. No idea what it’s for but now you just said there no way to bolt the cover back on when the battery is removed……DADAAAAA THATS THE nut you need . It slides into place.
    Cheers Stewart from the UK

Awesome man! Glad I could help! On my way back from an epic nine day bike adventure. I use my Trek rail, which I recently mulleted. Definitely going to mullet the trek fuelEXE in the next couple weeks. What a difference in handling, especially around tight switchbacks!

@downhill, what is the weight difference of your EXe with this setup compared to running the main battery?
5-6 lbs less is what I would expect

The TQ range extender weighs 950g/ 2.094lbs
The main battery weighs 1835 grams/4.045lbs. So there is a 1.951lb difference. I did not feel like the bike was any lighter. If I was blindfolded, I wouldn’t be able to tell which battery was running.👍
