I don't know. There's a ton of different tech and options. Your particular ear will gravitate to other things. I understand having a grounded reference for mastering, but there's a literal galaxy of options and stratospheric expense if you so choose. Is any of it "better" than this mastering set? Only one way to find out really. Certainly a mastering console as represented in this video is far from the best listening environment. Dedicated rooms exist for a reason. I also think having "This the absolute best and no better exist" attitude is a real lost opportunity to hear what might be better.
This series is really great. Seems like a good guy.
I really wish I could have met Doug Sax, and Lincoln Mayorga; The Mastering Lab and Sheffield Lab redefined how good recorded music could sound.

Unfortunately only vintage now. Haven't been made for decades and decades.
new active versions just released this week, will have to see if they live up to the old standards
