- This is a shortened version of a longer interview we did with Record Producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows) where he talks about how he went from Studio Musician to Record Producer and some of his favorite gear. Including his Neve 80 series console, Fairchild 660, Dumble Overdrive Special, Frank Lacy custom gear, Neumann U47 and Tannoy Mastering Lab Speakers.
Man it’s amazing the people you can meet in this world!
Great personality and open to share his experiences on gear and possibilleties in Sound.
Jeeez this is so freaking cool. Crazy someone that is so legendary and has such legendary gear can be so low key. I want to hang out in the studio and just gawk at all the awesome gear and wisdom.
So he wanted a presence pot which was standard on Fender amps which Dumble used as a base for his own amps. WOW...!!!
beatles used rs124 for bass
What ever this dude says is irrevelant as he wears sox and flip flops.
We're you born, with an intelligent limiter in your head?
He's telling and sharing a lot of good working tricks and technics, that a lot of pro tech's can't even imagen to creat. So don't fix on non relevant details of such a person.
