    A nice poly poly blend/hybrid is YTEX Square-X Sharp and Protour in the crosses. They have Protour in the same lime green color as the Square-X Sharp and it helps minimize the notching of the extremely sharp edges of the mains.

      Yes I have heard that set up is good. I personally like Quadro twist the best.

    Have you tried restring sync as a cross? Currently my favorite cross with the tension maintenance, durability, and feel. Seems like a popular cross for a lot of people!

      Yes I've tried it and I agree it has good tension maintenance but I don't love it as a cross because it isn't too slick and it's not lively enough for me. But it is a good string

    I’ve been liking ice code 18g as a cross

    I’ll throw in a couple really good Underated crosses for max spin String Project Sirius, rocket MSv Co focus, Swift Toroline wasabi x and not kidding Nordicdots Control string. Try the Nordicdots strings they’re great I rate them all the control string is a great cross.. And I agree with most you’ve mentioned so we’re on the same page try some of these if you ever get the chance. I’m using two setups amazing spin Solinco tour bite Project strings Sirius amazing combination and Toro Toro ND control string was playing with Nordicdots Topspin and co focus another awesome combination there’s so many..

    Have you tried the Super Smash as a cross? What's your opinion of that kirschbaum string

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  15 годин тому

      Sorry I've never tried any Kirschbaum string before. Not sure if I have any interest honestly since I haven't heard much about them

    Thanks Kent! Which Poly Tour Fire gauge do you use? Do you use one gauge lower than the main? Tension differential main to cross? Do you adjust tension of the whole set up when moving from 100sq in to 98 or 97?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  15 годин тому +1

      I typically use the 120mm. I like to go thinner in the mains because it allows for more power, spin, and feel. Tension is usually 2 lbs lower. I don't really adjust tension based on head size. Rather I do it based on string pattern. If it's a tighter pattern, I'll usually string a little looser.

    Hawk Power is AWFUL. Very poor in the spin department and awful as a cross.

    have u tried the regular Alu power as cross with other poly as main? i wonder does that work well

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  15 годин тому +1

      Yes I have and it's basically the same but the thinner gauge gets more spin, power, and feel for me

    • @DavidWarfyK
      @DavidWarfyK 10 годин тому

      @opencourt808 thanks, I have always wonder what a stiffer cross like Alu would be like with a softer main poly n whether I should string the cross looser or tighter for that setup haha

    - PolyTour Fire is muted and dead in 2 hours, it becomes stiff with no power
    - Hawk Power is much better in the mains than in the crosses
    - Lynx Tour as RPM Blast is better in full bed than crossed with a round string
    - Outlast is cheap nothing special
    - Tourna Silver lacks spin, Black Zone is a better choice specially with a nylon main

      PolyTour Fire is a soft powerful string and lasts a while. I've used it in multiple racquet. Softer and more powerful than Poly Tour Pro. Fire is a good string if you're looking for something soft and powerful. Definitely not dead after 2 hours.

      Its medium power not very soft/lively/crisp... 1.20 dead after 2h, 1.25 after 3/4h... black color is too muted lacks feel, more power, like an other string...

    Surprised that you mentioned Head Hawk Power. That is a really disappointing string.

      Yeah, agree with you. I love Hawk Power for full bed, but not as Cross. It doesnt give me anything. 😅
