    Love the chill music and atmosphere, I’m a huge PTP fan in tight string beds (anything too open & the tension doesn’t lock (not notch)
    & Rev in 18x20 has amazing pocketing. Pro has bite/spin, Rev has more feel & less SnapBack

    Rev and PTP are also the two I’ve narrowed down to. I like the strike as well but I’ve had some shoulder issues recently and it’s just not the most injury friendly string. I’ve also dial my tension down from 52 to 48 and both the rev and PTP still feel very good at this tension

    Thank you very much.
    I try poly tour rev and I love the string, super touch, control and excellent for slice, serve and volley.
    I play on clay, Argentinian polvo ladrillo with humidity and I could generate spin if I focus on it.
    Best string ever

    Drive is a good string when fresh - great blend of spin control and power. Only downer is the tension maintenance but then it's cheap enough to restring every couple of weeks.

    Hey thanks so much for making this video. I just switched to the Yonex Zone 100 and used Poly Tour Pro and absolutely loved it. I played a couple sets and was just loving the racket and string, then the 2nd time I played with it, my balls started sailing out. I love the softness of the string so much though, was wondering what you thought about just going higher on tension to compensate for the tension loss? Or I guess I could try Poly Tour Rev as well. Let me know your thoughts

    Careful when choosing your string, now the rev comes in that orange colour and that's it as for the Poli tour pro it comes in 4 colours. Now here's the catch, the same string behaves differently depending on the colour, it's all about the pigment used when fabricating the string. You have 4 colours in the poly tour pro the yellow being the softest and the black the stiffest. There is so much of a difference between the yellow and the black that you can basically say that is not the same string. I know an atp ranked player that uses the black poly tour pro because of this reason, I strung his racket myself 😉

    You really need to try Head Lynx Tour Orange in 1.25 before you fully switch to PolyTour Rev! Insane tensionmantenance with Lynx Tour. I tried both PolyTour Rev Orange and PTP Yellow, was not amazed by any of the two. I enjoyed the Furi C4 (sadly unavailable / impossible to get for us in EU) and Head Lynx Tour Orange way better. It also looks amazing in orange paired with Ezone/Vcore/PureDrive! Would love to test ReStringZero and get more of Furi C4 here in EU, next on my list is Head Hawk Power/Tecnifibre Razor Soft

      I'm in exactly same boat as you. I use the Furi Arma Pro 98 and i string it with Furi c4 17, or head lynx tour 1.25mm orange depending on my mood. Furi c4 gives me such awesome heavy ground strokes and head lynx tour just feels reliable and crispy right off the machine with excellent tension maintenance.

    • @BSTennis
      @BSTennis  11 місяців тому +1

      @@SilverBloodedOne if you want to maximize comfort, go with a multifilament. If you want to use a soft polyester, I would absolutely recommend poly tour pro (the yellow). That’s the softest/most comfortable feeling poly I’ve ever used and it’s not even close. The only problem is it doesn’t hold tension well, but that’s a trade off for a softer string.

    did you use polytour rev in 16 or 16L?

  • @SaberShirou
    @SaberShirou 11 місяців тому +3

    Recreational player here, but my experience with the four strings is largely similar to your review. The Strike is far too stiff and harsh. Can't feel the ball. I prefer the Fire to the Pro though, it's more responsive and holds tension better. The Pro becomes a damp squib after a few sessions, and as you said it requires frequent restrings that only makes sense for pros hence the Pro moniker. The Rev offers by far the best feel for the ball, and is still very much playable after considerable tension loss. Stringing it at low to mid 40s really unlocks the liveliness of the string.

    • @BSTennis
      @BSTennis  11 місяців тому +1

      Agreed, love pro but I’m not restringing my racket 4 times a week! Rev is a great string, I really really like it. Fire isn’t bad, just not amazing. I could use it.

    Spin, Air and Drive are all good strings. Even used on the WTA/ATP Pro tour. Just shows that (1) strings are subjective (2) 3.5 players like yourself have different preferences to stronger players.

    Could anyone help me with racket choice.
    I’m a pretty flat hitting aggressive player that will try cause problems from baseline before finishing point at the net. I have a powerful serve with a bit of spin, and a pretty flat two handed backhand.
    I’ve seen a lot of good things about the Ezone 98/100
    And the Babolat Pure Drive/Aero.
    Which would you recommend, or maybe others I haven’t listed.
    Thanks for the help 😁

    • @bojack3827
      @bojack3827 8 місяців тому

      Yep, harsh but true. Pro players have so much racquet head speed and just put so much action on the ball compared to amateurs. What works for them, won't work for a amateur 99% of the time. This is why these sort of string 1st-5th place roundups aren't very useful.

    • @rouxbix9494
      @rouxbix9494 21 день тому

      @@bojack3827 That is exactly why they are useful. I play more like this dude than I do Shelton. Makes sense to listen to him more than a pro that creates racquet head speed that I couldn't create at 22. Shouldn't have been hard to figure out that he was reviewing based on his skills and attributes. He showed you the video.
