We had this video and an upcoming Raptor test on UA-cam before but we uploaded the files that were originally hosted on out website so they were in less than standard definition. We decided to reupload our old content that was on UA-cam at 320x240 so we could at least get the quality up to 640x480. We do have a couple other videos that were never uploaded to UA-cam that will be released soon. Thanks for watching Doc.

@@brandondannys-menary3678 Ours had reverse. Might have been a 2006 or 2007. I'd have to check. Picked it up in Florida on vacation, long story, and it was a blast on the whooped out bermed trails in the Ocala national forest. Loved it!

I'm building my 06 model to GNCC race with, I've been working with Doug Nicholas of Nicholas Racing to build an awesome 574 big bore motor that makes some big horsepower numbers.
I have a outlaw 525 irs and I live in northern Arizona and boy is it fun to rip it on the open Forest service roads or the cinder OHV Play area all my friends either have a 700 or 450 and the 525 gives them all a run for there money only downside it's hard getting parts for it when it does 😮
I looked at buying an outlaw but decided to go with the 06 predator 500 since 05 and up has the transmission update making them stronger and come with reverse. My predator is a beast In the dunes and does great in the woods. Super underrated machines. It takes any 450s stock vs stock. And beat a few minor built banshees at the dunes as well. Would you guys maybe do a newer video testing out the predator 500?
Predators where a weapon that Fuji motor could be made to scream. A old friend I had bought one new in 2007 the last year they where made I believe. Was a snotty wheeler. His brother bought a 08 outlaw 525a which I needed up owning. Unfortunately for me it wasn’t taken care of and soon blew the rod bearing and me being a 19 year old kid who had thousands of dollars out on a loan for the wheeler wasn’t able to fix it all the way back then. As luck would have it I managed to pay it off and it sat in storage in pieces. Well finially now that I’ve grown up it’s slowly being put back together after 13 years. Was always kept in storage so it looks the same now as it did brand new granted other then the blown rod bearing there long been fixed it basically was. I unfortunately bought it from a friend who did not take care of it and I was young and had to have it so I was stuck with a 3.5 year loan. I will say the guy I took the loan over for(he’s the original owner I’m the 2nd and will be last)always felt bad about how it played out and helped me make payments I wasn’t able to make after I had lost my job ironically shortly after it blew up. I own it but I’ve always looked at it as our four wheeler. It will be back together in the near future and regardless I’ll always be grateful he co-signed so I could get it transferred to my name and even more thankful he was there willing to help me pay the payments I couldn’t and yes I know he had to because of his credit being involved but what he didn’t have to do is never hold it over my head and never take it from me he just bit down and payed when I couldn’t. That’s one of the main reasons once’s it’s together and restored why I’ll never get rid of it. It was a childhood dream to own one when they came out I was a senior in highschool in 09 he purchased it in 2010 as a 2 year left over and in 2011 I had the 08 outlaw 525s the same one in this video white with red trim even though it was short lived regardless of my multiple oil changes and maintenance but my taking care of did not overtake his neglect. The quad never saw a oil change until I gave it its first one after it had been owned for a year a half. You live and you learn regardless as dumb as it sounds I’ve always been grateful he did that to me even though it’s been stored all these years.
I remember going to the dealer back in the day and drolling over this ATV. I would love to find one that is not abused for a decent price. Have not seen one listed in many years around here.
Everything but the predator... Ive rode everything but the ltr 450.. nd that looks like a jet. Beautiful quad. They would have a customer if they brought it back. But Yamaha gets my money...and most peoples right now.

Debating on whether i should get one of these or a MX/enduro bike. I've never ridden one, but im getting older now. Are these ok for taller and heavier riders? Im 6'3" 270
Honestly, we would point you toward the raptor 700. It's a little better big guy bike, parts are still totally available because you can still purchase it new.

If you like ripping hard more than crawling over things or through the mud, yes! Maybe not the best sport machine ever built but certainly one of the fastest and A-blast to ride.
Not only reliable as fuck but these things RIP!! I've had mine since new in 09 and only imagine how many hard miles it has. Don't hesitate, buy one, do your oil changes, and ride it like you stole it.
I have a 2008 Outlaw 525IRS, got it new in 2009, I've been riding it like I stole it for the last 12 years, went through 2 sets of chains and sprockets, just recently replaced wheel bearings (lots of sand dunes, water). Get aftermarket exhaust, open up air box (rout cool fresh air into it), and re-jet carb to awaken the factory restricted engine. Awesome all around ATV. IRS also dose great on sand dunes, I would not trade for straight axle.
Mine the opposite. It starts fine when warm or hot or and a bitch to start when cold, but once it's in I can ride in the snow for hours and drift around the neighborhood and city of Denver.

Now I'm trying to apprentice under some local riders so I can build quads from the ground up mainly 2 strokes. I only bought this quad because it was decked tf out with elka suspension, full fmf exhaust, nerf bars, flex handle bars, and has less then 75 hours on it. Still on original tires with 90% tread at least. I have it up for sale for 2k before it's worth but just decided to keep it. In fact the guy I bought it from and his buddies who all ride 250rs ( what I usually own ) invited me to ride this Sunday and they're going to teach me how to do the mechanic work. I just love the field, but never had the training. I can replace a top end, so minor work ect but even jetting the carb is hard for me to do because I'm confused and never been taught hands on. I'm an active learner. I have to see it, then do it myself to understand it.

Love my predator 500. I can do rollign wheelies in 4th gear at the dunes and its actually really flickable. Great quad overall
