Floating on mist Crept up the caverns of my brain Received no warning From nothing to a life code Walk with me, you'll never leave Wait to see your spirit free Tell me how your heart's in need As I drown you in the sea Unwinding snares of distrust Your wrist in my fast grip Look me in the eye, I'm clear This is your time Face down beneath the waterline Gazing into the deep From love to death In a time span of seconds Oblivious to regret Pushed into belief In liquid cellophane Gasping for air Mercy in my eyes Is the shade of the night The piercing sounds you make Soaring higher, higher now And once left in my wake Your memory's nothing but the scars on me All over now Forgotten why I needed this Standing down Disappear into the obscure Resting days Waiting for new disease Biding time Locked inside insanity It always burns within The downward spiral never ends When driven into sin Your salvation's found in a sinners deed The devil guides the way Tells me what to say Pours himself inside And snuffs the final light Deliverance Thrown back at me Deliverance Laughing at me
I know u must have worked hard. But this is not better. Guitars are too panned to the sides and brought closer. But it's about the balance. It's never that all the instruments needed to be heard clearly. It's just that they have fit together in such a way that they elevate the atmosphere/soundscape. That's where focus goes in pop, progressive pop, hip hop etc. That's where I learned that. But it's just my opinion. You keep doing what u like. 🤘🤘
Ex. The guitars, in the "the devil guides the way" part are just distracting. Too loud and close. It takes away from the fact that the lyrics say that the narrator is possessed. The atmosphere is uneasy because of the balance between the guitar, the kicks and the drums. That's why blackwater park is so well regarded. It's atmosphere was never seen before in metal. It's Still life perfected.
Cool, thanks for the tip! I find that Deliverence out of all Opeth albums lacks Atmosphere and i find the mix kind of dry. I find it to be among my least listened heavy Opeth albums because of that.
@@lapseofjudgment7382 i think they were going for a rougher album. Taking that into consideration, i think they succeeded. But admittedly, they perfected the prog death metal archetype in ghost reveries and went all out in Watershed. Like a dying lion's last but earth shaking roar. Deliverance, for a newbie like me, was just heavy as fxk and i loved it. I get your point as well. Rock on.
Floating on mist
Crept up the caverns of my brain
Received no warning
From nothing to a life code
Walk with me, you'll never leave
Wait to see your spirit free
Tell me how your heart's in need
As I drown you in the sea
Unwinding snares of distrust
Your wrist in my fast grip
Look me in the eye, I'm clear
This is your time
Face down beneath the waterline
Gazing into the deep
From love to death
In a time span of seconds
Oblivious to regret
Pushed into belief
In liquid cellophane
Gasping for air
Mercy in my eyes
Is the shade of the night
The piercing sounds you make
Soaring higher, higher now
And once left in my wake
Your memory's nothing but the scars on me
All over now
Forgotten why I needed this
Standing down
Disappear into the obscure
Resting days
Waiting for new disease
Biding time
Locked inside insanity
It always burns within
The downward spiral never ends
When driven into sin
Your salvation's found in a sinners deed
The devil guides the way
Tells me what to say
Pours himself inside
And snuffs the final light
Deliverance
Thrown back at me
Deliverance
Laughing at me
The description needs to be corrected btw.
