I am attracted to any gender as a pansexual but I also haven't been out for very long to really know what is expected or what to discuss. I have never met any potential lover, because I do not go out at night and am always fully sober. It feels like I am being punished for simply living a quiet life. Which is hurtful, because part of my dream is having a wife and settling down. :(

Ok, I‘m just gonna use this comment section to get my current dating anxiety off my chest. 2 weeks ago I realized that I was open to try out more than friendship with one of my friends. That really overwhelmed me because I‘m over 20 years old and I had never had a thought like that ever in my life. And the thought of not knowing where she stands in all of that made it even worse, I felt nauseous, couldn‘t get my mind off of that thought, had trouble sleeping etc. So, we met up a week later and I had to let her know, even though it was scary af. To my surprise, after I had told her, she told me that she too has been confused about her feelings for me and that she realized that she felt more for me than a platonic friendship. Which was an option I had talked myself out of happening, in order to not get hurt too much by the denial I was expecting. So 2 weeks ago I learned that I have the capability to develop more feelings than friendship and a week later the girl I was having those feelings towards told me she has feelings for me as well. Now, I would love to just be happy and let things happen but as I‘m learning, that‘s not how emotions work. I‘m absolutely overwhelmed and tired. I can‘t think about anything else than how I‘m currently feeling, no matter how hard I try to distract myself, and what makes it difficult is that I feel like my emotions are tossing me around, into every possible feeling. First, there‘s happiness and calmness, then a bit later it shifts into anxiety and fear until I feel absolutely drained and then it tosses me into missing her or into feeling like all of this is too fast and that maybe I was wrong about my feelings. I am going to talk to her about it but currently I‘m just feeling miserable and since I have no prior dating/relationship experience I have no clue what my takeaway from all those changing emotions should be. One thing I did actually realize is that I feel pressure, because she has had feelings for me for months. Whereas I am right at the bloody start. It feels like I have to catch up with a lot of feelings fast, however, that doesn‘t feel natural at all and I do know that it‘s not right. Still, I can feel the pressure of having to live up to her feelings. And then, no matter where this goes, there‘s generally a wonderful connection at stake. We have been friends for a few months and I‘m very glad to have met her because it has been unlike any other friendship I‘ve had. So, that also makes dating more scary because I don‘t wanna lose her. Lastly, everyone I‘ve talked to tells me about their experiences from the perspective of being deeply in love with the s/o right away. That‘s not what I‘m feeling right now so it feels like something isn‘t going right. Would be nice if someone could confirm that not every relationship starts out with only positive feelings and that anxiety in the early stages can be normal :/ Anyways, it was good to just write it out. And Lauren, thank you for your advice! ❤
@@racerxtreme Thank you! 🙏 Unfortunately my fears really wore me down to a point where I realized that I am not ready yet for a relationship 🙃 It was really embarrassing being the person that initiated everything and then having to backpaddle two weeks later and asking her if we could take it back to a friendship 😬 But she reacted really sweet and understanding so now we're friends again and both working through the "aftermath" of that situation 🙆♀️ At least now I know exactly what I have to work on to be ready for my next experience 🙇♀️

okay so, i’m farliy young and i think a girl may like me. the thing is we’re friends, we’re very young, we go to a christian school, my whole family is christian, and i don’t know if i’m ready to date yet. i think i may be willing to try it but i don’t want to ruin the freindship, i don’t know what dating would even look like, and because of being brought up christian i have a fair amount of internal homophobia i recently realized i had. i’m really scared and nervous and i don’t know what to do. also becuase we are so young should we even be dating?? is it weird if we do?? she’s been with a lot of girls and one guy before me, never for a long amount of months either. although she did stay freinds with her exes

Ok, I‘m just gonna use this comment section to get my current dating anxiety off my chest.
2 weeks ago I realized that I was open to try out more than friendship with one of my friends. That really overwhelmed me because I‘m over 20 years old and I had never had a thought like that ever in my life. And the thought of not knowing where she stands in all of that made it even worse, I felt nauseous, couldn‘t get my mind off of that thought, had trouble sleeping etc.
So, we met up a week later and I had to let her know, even though it was scary af. To my surprise, after I had told her, she told me that she too has been confused about her feelings for me and that she realized that she felt more for me than a platonic friendship. Which was an option I had talked myself out of happening, in order to not get hurt too much by the denial I was expecting. So 2 weeks ago I learned that I have the capability to develop more feelings than friendship and a week later the girl I was having those feelings towards told me she has feelings for me as well.
Now, I would love to just be happy and let things happen but as I‘m learning, that‘s not how emotions work. I‘m absolutely overwhelmed and tired. I can‘t think about anything else than how I‘m currently feeling, no matter how hard I try to distract myself, and what makes it difficult is that I feel like my emotions are tossing me around, into every possible feeling. First, there‘s happiness and calmness, then a bit later it shifts into anxiety and fear until I feel absolutely drained and then it tosses me into missing her or into feeling like all of this is too fast and that maybe I was wrong about my feelings.
I am going to talk to her about it but currently I‘m just feeling miserable and since I have no prior dating/relationship experience I have no clue what my takeaway from all those changing emotions should be. One thing I did actually realize is that I feel pressure, because she has had feelings for me for months. Whereas I am right at the bloody start. It feels like I have to catch up with a lot of feelings fast, however, that doesn‘t feel natural at all and I do know that it‘s not right. Still, I can feel the pressure of having to live up to her feelings. And then, no matter where this goes, there‘s generally a wonderful connection at stake. We have been friends for a few months and I‘m very glad to have met her because it has been unlike any other friendship I‘ve had. So, that also makes dating more scary because I don‘t wanna lose her.
Lastly, everyone I‘ve talked to tells me about their experiences from the perspective of being deeply in love with the s/o right away. That‘s not what I‘m feeling right now so it feels like something isn‘t going right. Would be nice if someone could confirm that not every relationship starts out with only positive feelings and that anxiety in the early stages can be normal :/ Anyways, it was good to just write it out. And Lauren, thank you for your advice! ❤
There is no rush, take things slow. If she cares about you she’ll understand.
@@racerxtreme Thank you! 🙏 Unfortunately my fears really wore me down to a point where I realized that I am not ready yet for a relationship 🙃 It was really embarrassing being the person that initiated everything and then having to backpaddle two weeks later and asking her if we could take it back to a friendship 😬 But she reacted really sweet and understanding so now we're friends again and both working through the "aftermath" of that situation 🙆♀️ At least now I know exactly what I have to work on to be ready for my next experience 🙇♀️
