The Cashion Icon Baitfinesse Rod is defnitely a BFS rod meant for bass fishing, The ML version I would not suggest for panfish and such but, was awesome for bass fishing, The fast taper gave me plenty of control yet, the rod was able to give under pressure to protect thin hooks and light line.
The sensitivity was very nice and I felt that this BFS rod has a noticeable leg up compared to other BFS bass rods I have used recently. The grips were comfortable and never gave me any issues, even when wet. The reel seat is basic but, it works and I never had any issues with it.
The Cashion Icon Baitfinesse Rod is a great alternative to using spinning gear for bass fishing. BFS (Bait Finesse System) is new to the USA for mainstream anglers. I have been using BFS gear for over 10 years and I am glad to see more rod options for the USA market. One of the best uses for BFS gear is using fluorocarbon from 6-10lb. Most times, spinning gears gets a lot of line twists with fluorocarbon line and can cause many issues. The act of pitching to cover with a spinning reel is also cumbersome for most, as a baitcasting reel is more natural and allows for instant hooksets and better lure control. BFS gear is designed to put light lures around cover and in open water.
