That single tail grub looks great! I'm going to give that a try next time out. I usually use a minnow tail or paddle tail. After seeing this video, I like the look of the rage grub and the single tail best.
I agree that a twin-tail grub is an amazing swim jig trailer. I also like a small craw, or chunk craw type of trailer as I often like to use my jig as you would any other type of jig. It can be a great option in really thick vegetation. So, sometimes I like to hop, drag, and swim them all on the same cast.
Great content Steve! Really nice footage! Just an FYI, if you rig your " boot tail" trailers upside down it helps keep your baits from rising in the water column! Tight lines from Cameron and the sjbm19 team 🎣
Love the underwater footage. You truly have some of the best bass fishing content around. Thank you for that! Never would have thought to try the blade minnow or similar bait on a swim jig. Guess there's some experimenting to do next time I'm on the water. I did well this year using a Strike King scounbug as a craw type trailer. It became the go-to for that style of trailer on swim jigs. I also caught a lot of fish using swimbaits as a trailer, especially during the post spawn and dog days of summer.
I switch between a split tail grub like a Z-Man Goat or a 4.3" Berkley power swimmer cut down to about 4". The Berkley plastic is a little tougher than most and it thumps enough to rock the bait on a steady retrieve.
My favorite swim jig trailer is the pit boss....don't know what they think it is, but it works great up north here for large and small mouth ... trimming the skirt back a bit is a needed tho 😊
Great underwater images of the baits, esp slo-mo! Is this the new camera you've been mentioning? I've been having some success with the Crush City Freeloader on a 1/2 oz EVO Chatterbait. Keep up your great channel and thanks!
I’m a spinner bait guy. I’ve tried a swim jig a lot but can’t really catch fish on them. I like how they can go any where, but I just don’t have the confidence in them.
I was having problem transitioning over at first, esp after 30+ years of spinnerbaits. I think because it doesnt thump like a spinnerbait, i dont exactly know what is happening in the water and i ended up cranking them in too fast. Reels now are also much faster than years past. Not i switched to a lighter jig (1/4 ) so it doednt sink as fast and it forces me to slow down as the jig would come up to the surface when i start cranking them too quickly.
Well, I cracked a big one yesterday on a swim jig paired with the Yamamoto Kickin’ Zako. I wouldn’t say it’s my FAVORITE, but it got the job done. Most of my water is more colored-especially outside of the summer months. Would LOVE to see a video comparing the actions of some popular paddle tails like the Zako, Keitech, Mayor, etc.!
My favorite trailer on my swim jig is a double digit bass
Straight up 😂
That single tail grub looks great! I'm going to give that a try next time out. I usually use a minnow tail or paddle tail. After seeing this video, I like the look of the rage grub and the single tail best.
That grub is something I often overlook. I need to use it way more than I do.
Love those single and twin tail Zoom Fat Alberts on either regular or swim jigs.
Those are some good ones!
Hey, Steve, pray u are well and safe. I needed this video. High pressure killed us Friday. No life and no bites
Those are super tough days. We are in the middle of solid rain and cold here. About that time where I never see the sun for weeks. Have a great day!
Great stuff as usual Steve, than you! I also like to use the small Spunk Shad.
Good choice!

Largo shad for compact jigs, and x zone swammers for normal size ones.
That twin tail grub trailer is money 🤑 just about all I throw
Me too!

Righteous with the slow mo!
Thanks!
Lake fork lure co magic shad- boot tail, v- tail and the new procraw 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Rage grub is my favorite
Great information and i like the craw trailer's

The scounbug is a really great compact lure. Lots of friends of mine had great luck on it too. Thanks for watching!
The 2.8 Kietech paddle tail has been a go-to for smallies in my area. I started using the Twin-Tail this year, and it was a solid producer.
Really love that smaller size!
I like the Keitech Mad Wag mini on compact baits with small hooks, and the Keitech Crazy Flapper on bulkier baits.
Nice!
My favorite for my cheddar beats trailer will be. BerkIey powerstinger
Love the rage swimmer, but I’m going to have to try the flat twin tail. Thanks Steve.
A friend showed it to me on the Mississippi years ago and it has been my mainstay ever since. Such a fun way to fish!
I switch between a split tail grub like a Z-Man Goat or a 4.3" Berkley power swimmer cut down to about 4". The Berkley plastic is a little tougher than most and it thumps enough to rock the bait on a steady retrieve.
Great video Steve! Love to see this kinda video!
Hopefully more to come!

I haven’t tried that one - I will have to. Thank you!
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Largo shad, it’s the best
I’m just getting into throwing the jig. Looks like I can try some of my paddle tails.
What weight swim jig do you recommend for a bank angler?
Could you do a video on pork trailers vs plastic. Thanks for doing what you do.
I need to do that! Thank you.

That is the slo mo! That is a great combo you mentioned!
Single or double tail grubs.
@2:44 Showing a skirt that is 0.25" too long ... swimming action even!
I've a penchant for precision.
You're too good to us Steve.
I definitely would trim that one a bit for the shorter swimmer next time I was out. Really liked that little one though!
@@SteveRogersOutdoors You might like the Molix Nano jigs.
I put 2.8" Fat Impact on them.
I’m a spinner bait guy. I’ve tried a swim jig a lot but can’t really catch fish on them. I like how they can go any where, but I just don’t have the confidence in them.
A spinnerbait gets the job done!

Crush city laid flat

That is a great topic. Thank you! And congrats on the good one!
Use the trailer they want,da! Let the fish tell you again what they want!
