    I use the mini educator on my Rottweiler, i didn't have it on him when he decided to go through the front window 🤦🏻‍♀️... Other days I had it on him, I didn't have the remote and he was at my side the entire walk... Its an amazing tool! But I definitely had to be trained to use it. Thanks for explaining this!

    The e-collar is the only training tool that has actually worked for my dog. I appreciate this video so much because the e-collar is such a misunderstood and demonized tool. If more dog owners understood how they worked and worked with trainers who actually know how to use them, we'd have way less dogs in shelters and way less dogs with behavioral issues.

    All the comments and concerns of over use, over stimulation, etc are certainly warranted and I'm not here to argue the point. I just wanted to say, I've been using e/shock collar's on my dog's for 30 years, and the biggest points I'd make is, you are absolutely correct, you should never use the shock when you are emotional or in anger. That's not to say you can't use it to punish, but just like you don't beat your dog, you don't use it for punishment like that, or you will, just like beating your dog, you will hurt it both physically and emotionally. The best way I can qualify the meaning of punishment is not like an ass-whooping, but like a negative reinforcement to snap a dog's brain out of the focus, sometimes so intense in distraction, that they're no longer listening to you. I train my dogs to know that, regardless of the situation, they need to always remember to stay in "touch" with me, to look to me for direction. And that stimulation, if set to a higher level, isn't and shouldn't be meant to punish outright. Another point, sometimes if a dog vocalizes, in my experience its mostly surprise, of course, if you're stimulating too high, high enough to be painful, then of course, that vocalization may very well be pain, but if you're responsible, in most of my experience, if you're being responsible, it's surprise. Lastly, I've never had a bad experience with the vibration, it's significant enough most of the time to be felt without the concern for the electric shock, and once a dog understands both, the shock and the vibration, they will re-focus and correct. But my FAVORITE, is to use the TONE as a recall! Most of the manuals will discuss the tone as another training reminder like vibration, but when you can recall your dog with the press of a button, you'll never use the tone again for anything else, it's just amazing! Good luck, stay true and love your dog, and you'll make the right decisions using an e/shock collar!

      Hey thanks so much for leaving such a thought out response! I mentioned the dog being more surprised as they might be aroused but took it out lol. Thanks for watching and engaging!

      @@sweetdrahthaar7951 oh, for sure. People need to learn how to use them appropriately versus just turning it all the way up and going to town on the dog 😂

    Can you please do a video on anxiety and nutrition? My dog has always had super bad anxiety, it’s been getting better with training recently, but he does have severe food allergies. As a puppy, he was tested and we were told he was allergic to most proteins so he was prescribed prescription food. He doesn’t love his food and getting him to eat sometimes is a challenge. Wondering now if there’s a link between his anxiety and diet. Thank you in advance!

      You are in luck, I already did! It's directed towards "Reactive" dogs but reactivity and anxiety and similar energies and nutritionally the suggestions are the same: ua-cam.com/video/uU01qiBEylI/v-deo.html

    Does the mini educator have tones?

    • @doggettstyledogtraining
      @doggettstyledogtraining  2 місяці тому

      it does have a tone function yes. just one. it's loud enough for the dog to hear if they aren't running full speed, windy, etc.

    I got a simple question for anyone who knows. For 2 small dogs, mini 300 or the ez900? I know I should get the ez300, but it looks so freaking goofy, looks like a banana or a minion.
    My dogs are pretty good w recall and heel, I just want a little bit more control for when we go to the park and they go further out.

      the wheel on the EZ is a little easier to turn but honestly it's whatever you Learn or already know. They are both easy enough to learn so if you like the mini remote go with that :)

    E-collar saved our boxer from being given away, on leash best dog ever off leash terrible , we have big farm no way to fence this place. We watched many videos put the collar on myself before putting it on our dog. At five I could feel some tingle, ours has beep, vibrate, and so called shock. Tyson has been tingled only on four, maybe three times in all , hears the beep and he will come running from a hectare away. We are so thankful we invested in a e-collar.

    Hey Evan! Just liked & subscribed. Great video! Recently started how to train 'ME' about how to train my boy with Sara in PEI. Hope your channel grows exponentially! E-collars are the best when used properly. I know I've made a couple mistakes using mine and my boy still loves me! Keep the videos coming.
