My lenovo laptop is just a few months old and just started shutting down and coming back up i found you online while researching what to do and you explain stuff so well!!!!
Hey, man. Thanks a lot for providing us with this video to help us fix our problems. Too bad I have a different problem, you see, my problem is that sometimes when I tried to shut down my laptop, it keeps starting on again for no reason. Now, this problem doesn't happened regularly but when it does it's really annoying. Basically, after turning off my laptop, I suddenly receive a blue screen but the words got jumbled and unreadable as if the laptop's LCD monitor was broken but my monitor is in good condition. Do you have any idea on how to fix this problem?
Thank you so much! I haven't tried the steps from the video yet because I spent so much time tying to fix the computer before I completely lost my energy. So I'll try tomorrow, I have a feeling the issue right before the hardware being bad, at least I hope. I couldn't update my windows 10 for the longest time and then I couldn't go through with the reinitialisation. Watching you video gave me the strength not to give up yet.
Hi, I have Lenovo T480 Thinkpad. I am using windows 11. It sometimes shoutdown by itself while working. And sometimes, it boot and when windows almost on lock screen it just turn off. It doesn't matter how many times I try to turn it on, it again turn off suddenly. The only way to turn it on is to connect the charger amd as soon as windows turn on, I can remove the charger and it will keep working. Then when I shutdown it, sometimes it turn on without any issue and sometimes same issue happens. I have added new batteries a few days ago so I don't think the issue is with batteries. Can you please suggest any solution for this. I have tried reinstalling windows 10 and 11 many times but issue's still there.
i believe my battery was the cause for Event error 41. as it would suddenly go off at 40% then restart a bunch of times then it was at 35% under mins. im going to reset all power plans & then maybe replace the battery in the future since non of my errors happen while on the power cord. just to note: i guss as my battery got older it could not keep my 100% cpu settings on max all the time. awsome video ill defo edit my power settings via a reset of all power settings. thanks
Hello great video. I have a question. My Lenovo laptop randomly shutsdown. The event viewer error shows Event ID 15. The device driver for the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) encountered a non-recoverable error in the TPM hardware, which prevents TPM services (such as data encryption) from being used. For further help, please contact the computer manufacturer. How do I fix this error? My laptop shuts down randonly.
WOW....I just got a brand new Dec 2022 Lenovo high end CAD Laptop. Just trying it.....on UA-cam....out and I get this problem. This occurred within an hour of the computer prompting me to put it into performance mode......which is why I bout a high performance laptop. But I was only watching UA-cam.
I checked the system logs, and I thought I had found what was causing it, I deleted the couple apps that caused it to restart when they "terminated", and I thought it fixed it but now it continues to reset on it's own, except there's no actual error log for what happened, only error logs describing that the system shutdown was unexpected. I've tried just about everything I can think of, and I'm still at a loss. Any ideas?
Is the computer overheating? Also, what is the battery percentage reading when the computer turns off? If you remove the battery and use the computer on just the power adapter, does it still turn off?
@@PC_Monkey the computer gets a bit warm but never legitimately hot, and it shuts off regardless of battery level or whether it's plugged in. Another thing to note, when it does this and turns back on, 70-90% of the ram is taken up by nothing until I restart it normally, then it goes back down to 20-30%.
Hi, not sure if you can help me with this one: My Lenovo Yoga 7 slim was working fine until last week after closing the lid. After opening the lid it went into a boot loop that I could exit by a hard shutdown (keep pressing the power button). But even with OS loading, since then the laptop would randomly shut down on me. Or if I close the lid it would shutdown the laptop, (eventhough the action is set on ‘do nothing’), and enter into the same boot loop again. I did a complete and clean reset of the laptop, reinstalling Windows and all drivers but this didn’t solve it either. Not sure whether this is a hardware issue or a software issue as the issue seem to have started with the lid. Interestingly, even with BIOS setting on disabled for boot when opening the lid, the laptop would still power up when opening the lid :/‘ You are basically my last attempt on fixing this before buying a new laptop XD Thx in advance for any guidance you can provide!
Are you able to run the diagnostic scan as seen here? ua-cam.com/video/oL1R1Tw0jSo/v-deo.html. Can you find any Repair or Recovery options in BIOS? Also, did anything happen before this issue started? Liquid spill, overheating, a Windows update, etc?
@@PC_Monkey Yes, since the OS does boot (when it's not in a boot loop) I have been running different diagnostic tools. I can't find the BIOS diag that you've showed in your video, but I did run a diag on the Lenovo's website after letting the site identify my product. I've also downloaded their Lenovo Diagnostics Evolution software and did a scan, and I also used the Vantage app. The laptop always passed all tests! All the issues started after watching a video on the laptop using our TV (HDMI plugged in) as an external monitor. Afterwards I closed the lid as usual and took the laptop to my desk where the boot loop started. I'm also chatting with a Lenovo support agent on their forum. his latest advice was to go to Device Manager/System devices/ and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for all system devices with a power management option in the properties. I just finished trying this but unfortunately, no bueno.. Just now, I tried to change the angle of the lid, and pushing it down (greater angle) goes without an issue. But from the moment I move the lid a few cm towards me, it immediately goes black and the pc goes to sleep, by pushing the lid forward again it awakes. However completely shutting the lid will still force shutdown the laptop. I still wonder whether this is not a wiring issue with the lid? I opened the laptop 2 days ago to see whether nothing was unplugged but I didn't see any loose wires or excessive dust or anything..
Hi, my Lenovo laptop I use for school randomly gives me a blue error screen and restarts itself every 20 minutes or so. This has happened several times and has only started today after I dropped my water bottle on the centre of the keyboard (no water spilt btw). I use this laptop for school and am very stressed about the issue. Thoughts?

My problem is that my computer (Acer Aspire 5733) turns on, beginning to boot, but suddenly turns off, then it turns on again and the problem repeats (doing it every 10 sec or so). It could be turned off only by unplugging the battery. But sometimes (rarely, if I got lucky), the problem disappears and it turns on fine. Is it a motherboard problem (bad contact somewhere)? Thank you
@@PaoeniCleaning the fan helped, but you need to disassemble the whole thing to get to it. Be careful with some plastic tabs, which can break easily and don't leave the extra parts when you reassemble it back. :)
@@PaoeniIt could, but there is no guarantee. I tried it on another computer which was turning off on its own and had no result. I ended up buying a new laptop anyway which broke later too (the hinge broke and the front panel of the screen started to peel off showing the electronic parts inside). Arrgh! They just can't make reliable and sturdy ones anymore.
Sir, I have a problem where when I do editing in software like Adobe, my laptop suddenly restarts itself and sometimes the restart can restart normally or restart which says Default "Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed" (but in this case my laptop is not stuck on the display "Boot Device...blah...blah", if I press the power button it will turn on as before, but when doing some activities such as editing, my laptop will restart again), and according to my speculation this problem appeared when I first updated bios via the "Lenovo Vantage" software, I don't know if it's because of this or not. My Device: Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 Does my problem match the solution in this video?? Is this the problem in the bios?

I have a Lenovo 82BJ Ideapad and the device will shut down if I move the screen slightly while in use. It doesn't matter if I move it forward or backward. Once this happens, I can just restart it by using the thumbprint log in and it will reboot and my windows will reappear to where they were. Any suggestions on what might be causing this issue and how to address?
I would assume that something internal is loose. Perhaps being pulled by the LCD Cable. I would open the computer up and make sure the LCD Cable and all the power cables are not loose.
So idk if you’ll get this or not but my computer is essentially shutting down after I login. I will get on it for a few minutes and it might work occasionally for those few minutes and then it will completely shut off and I’ll have to restart and log back in. Not sure what’s happening, could you help?

I followed your clip; pulled up the errors and warnings - a huge amount. Googled it, looks like I need tp update drivers. Which software would you recommend to download? My PC overheats and shuts down every time I play any kind of game. I tried to do something real simple as a test like Sudoku or some card game, and it shut down too.
@@PC_Monkey I followed your video. My PC was saying that all was up to date. I still ran troubleshooter, and it said there was nothing it could help with. The only message it had was that this PC does not meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11. This thing is running so hot. The vents are not clogged with dust. Hey, so mine does not seem to pop as an error but more as information, and i believe its event id 42 which puts the computer to sleep that is causing my laptop to just turn black. having Ideapad 330s power randomly shutdown. no proper shutdown. Can you plase confirm what could be the issue and what is work around it is quite confusing.
Okay, here goes... I have a Lenovo Ideapad 3 i3-1215u that came with Windows 11 Home. My work wanted me to install a Windows 10 Pro on it (even though that specific machine came with 11 Home), I did that... used a key to activate Windows... then nothing worked. No wifi, no touchpad, nothing. I attached an external mouse, and downloaded drivers for Wifi... and then went to Lenovo website to update everything, plus Windows updates. One thing that kept giving error on Lenovo Smart Bridge was the BIOS update... and that's what created a storm for me. As soon as I restarted my machine for updates to take affect (it went through several reboots for each update, all worked fine until it installed new BIOS)... now it freezes on the very startup, or on logo, or on desktop... or doesn't start... or freezes on startup where even the emergency shutdown button gets frozen and I have to drain battery to try and launch again. Currently I'm draining yet again just to get a chance to try and boot it up and maybe able to install fresh windows... but should I install from the same Windows 10 Pro usb or use another version? No idea what to do... this laptop is new, I don't want to mess it up more... : (
1. I hate to sound too simplistic but perhaps that computer needs to be on Windows 11. Perhaps a bunch of driver issues and BIOS issues are happening because its the wrong OS. 2. If you have updated all the drivers from Lenovo as well as seen here: ua-cam.com/video/kX8bB725Ljw/v-deo.html your computer should be fine if its new with a new OS. Did you run the diagnostic scan just to double check the HDD?

My lenovo c940 randomly shuts down every now and then. I'll stop using it for 5 minutes and then it will just shut down. I didn't think of it as a real problem until I was writing my research paper, I left to go get a snack and I came back and the laptop had shut down and now I'm afraid this will happen while I'm taking an exam. The error number I got was 10010 but there isn't a set description of it or workaround, so I don't know how to fix it. This laptop is less than a month old, it's basically brand new.

My Lenovo desktop isn't shutting down, something physical is happening in the pc itself, sounds like something is moving in there, and it freezes/slows for about 3-5 seconds, and resumes when the noise stops. There is no rhyme or reason, it does this seemingly randomly though sometimes it will do this when I swap tabs from a game like Overwatch to Discord, but will often just do this in the middle of a youtube video. Sometimes it freezes so badly that it loses connection to my monitor and the monitor goes black and restarts. I have zero clue what could be going on or how to go about this.

Hi, not sure if you can help me with this one:
My Lenovo Yoga 7 slim was working fine until last week after closing the lid.
Interestingly, even with BIOS setting on disabled for boot when opening the lid, the laptop would still power up when opening the lid :/‘
You are basically my last attempt on fixing this before buying a new laptop XD
Thx in advance for any guidance you can provide!

Yes, since the OS does boot (when it's not in a boot loop) I have been running different diagnostic tools.

By the way, I have already used another video of yours to disable safe boot... even that didn't work.

my computer begins restarting in a loop as soon as I open an application, I changed that one setting to legend and now it only runs for a little bit longer. i looked in my event log and the only error was some Bluetooth thing, which I do not think was causing it as it was fixed. I looked at my other warnings and I had a few of those 10016 things, I couldn't exactly understand what it was telling me to do.
Is the computer overheating at all? What percentage is the battery at when it turns off? If you remove the battery and only use the computer with the power adapter, will it still turn off?
@@PC_Monkey thanks so much for responding, my computer is plugged in as often as it can be, so it's normally at full percentage, it doesnt overheat a whole bunch but every now and then it gets hot when I turn it on. and I tried removing the battery but it still does it :-(

Thanks for the video. My computer randomly reboots and freezes requiring a hard boot, but never when I'm actively using it. This happens at least once every couple days. I looked up the error message and there's many with multiple event ids. Todays reboot has Event Id 1 with this message "A fatal hardware error has occurred. A record describing the condition is contained in the data section of this event." I don't see any data section. Then one second later another red error with event Id 1001 with this message "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffd38e83b54028, 0x00000000ba000000, 0x0000000011000402). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. What is the battery level at when it turns off? If you remove the battery and run the computer on just the power adapter, does it still happen?
My lenovo c940 randomly shuts down every now and then. I'll stop using it for 5 minutes and then it will just shut down. I didn't think of it as a real problem until I was writing my research paper, I left to go get a snack and I came back and the laptop had shut down and now I'm afraid this will happen while I'm taking an exam. The error number I got was 10010 but there isn't a set description of it or workaround, so I don't know how to fix it. This laptop is less than a month old, it's basically brand new.
From what I found, that error is usually related to the operating system having issues working with 3rd party anti-virus software. Do you have any of that on your computer?

My Lenovo desktop isn't shutting down, something physical is happening in the pc itself, sounds like something is moving in there, and it freezes/slows for about 3-5 seconds, and resumes when the noise stops. There is no rhyme or reason, it does this seemingly randomly though sometimes it will do this when I swap tabs from a game like Overwatch to Discord, but will often just do this in the middle of a youtube video. Sometimes it freezes so badly that it loses connection to my monitor and the monitor goes black and restarts. I have zero clue what could be going on or how to go about this.
