Hey there! Something important to note for everyone: Stardew is an incredible game in so many ways, and one of them is the different kinds of play styles. This is a great guide, it really is, but if you don't want to rush things or follow everything step by step, that's okay! I, personally, was a reeeeeeally bad player my first save 😅. I ended up completing the Comm center year 8... YEAR 8!!! I'm on year 13 now lol! I took so long to do stuff, but you know what? I had so much fun! And I still have fun. Have I gotten plenty of skill and knowledge to be able to complete the center earlier, definitely. Do I do everything I can Spring One? Not really! I do what I feel like because that's my thing. It’s a good guide BUT I definitely noticed things changing when I slowed the video down. Like things in your inventory changing on day 3 when selling to Willy for the rod & 4 as well as a treasure chest (the one that you can sell for lots of money) and multiple gems in your inventory that you didn’t mention. Also day 5 it cuts and all the sudden you have unlocked floor 15 at 6:30 am.. which is just not believable. It’s really important to mention all these extra bonuses you were able to get to make sure people are aware just how difficult or different this run might be for some. Maybe an alternative for people who can’t quite get perfect catches every time? I get people are going to have different luck, but there’s no way someone can make it to floor 15 by 6:30am. It just feels slightly dishonest & by the time I realized that was happening I had already spent a lot of time trying to follow this guide. I am on day 5, I am only level 4 fishing & only have a little over 2000 gold. I’m an experienced player, I highly doubt a newer player will even be that lucky. Just some thoughts. 5:56 how you went from 2:50pm to 6:30am? It took so long for me to get down to floor 10, like it's 10pm when i reached floor 10 so there is no time for me...
This is a 3 part answer. I'll explain what I can Part 1 which I can't control. Some floors I did just get lucky. I also had 2 infested floors so I got unlucky there but some luck played into it. Part 2 which is controlled. I always try to pause the game when I'm thinking so I never waste any in game time. This also helps me rearrange my inventory or check what time is is/health i have. It's pretty useful to be able to pause the game while still being able to see important stats and such. The other controlled aspect of this is monsters. In general monsters have a flat 4% ladder drop rate which is pretty high considering bugs have 1 hp. Knock out a few and it's likely a ladder drops. If all monsters are killed on a floor the rate of ladders increase by a bit but I wouldnt waste your time with high hp monsters like slimes. Those are going to slow you down. Just block and keep moving unless you get swarmed. Part 3 is experience. I have studied the mines extensively and there's even a few videos on mines math. You may think ladder patterns are random but they are only partially random. Each floor relates to the floor after it. When a ladder is found the position of the ladder can relate to the floor after it. For example on level 2 if i found a ladder at the bottom there's a chance it's at the top section of floor 3 since the pattern is much more complex than this but in general it's the opposite corner of the floor before it. So if i get a ladder top left of 1, the pattern would be top left 1 bottom right 2 top left 3 right on 4 middle 5 (since left is just the elevator) right on 6 and so on and so forth. This isn't always accurate but in general this method is solid. So with some practice you'll pick up on patterns naturally. Sorry for the insane answer, the mines is the most complex aspect of the game, but I hope I made it make a bit of sense. If you have any questions let me know
Questions for days 9-11 how do you smelt enough especially if iron takes two in game hours that’s only a few bars per day assuming you only get to the mines at 7 am at the earliest, and you can’t smelt through the night, plus you’d need enough coal which is really hard to get at least from what I’ve noticed in my run through? I’m doing this to get enough bars for sprinklers but it feels almost too good to be true.
I try to aim for 3 to 5 furnaces (I know the copper is a real bottleneck here) this allows 1.5-2.5 bars per hour. Sprinklers require 1 iron bar so you can make about 4 to 5 sprinklers every 4 hours. This is plenty and will make watering a lot easier. You can smelt through the night but it will be less per hour if that makes sense. Coal is very hard to get. Grey stones have a higher chance of dropping them as well as copper nodes. If you're past floor 40 dust sprites have a high chance of dropping them. There also is a few minecarts with 6 coal each on floors 12 18 and 28 i believe (this is going off memory Im not looking at the exact floor layouts this second) but that's at least 18 coal plus any gathered naturally. Yes coal is tricky to get but you should have enough to handle a few sprinklers at least. And worst case scenario invest in a few coal at clint's to save some time. It's a bit pricey but you can always sell him gems when you stop by to negate the price. My aim is usually at least 10 sprinklers by the egg festival. This will allow 40 spaces to be watered which is solid. I think on this save I had 18 by that time so it was more than enough. But I can't stress how important sprinklers are. Hope I answered what you needed. I know mines math is a bit complex so it can be a tough subject to answer directly
Ok got that sorted and got 18 ready to go for the egg festival at the cost of not going deeper than level 40 in the mines so I could grind for it and having very few coal or gold to make gold bars so day 14 is kinda shot, plus for some reason my cauliflower wasn’t ready maybe I had too many bad luck days in a row. @@isss5167 Once you start upgrading your pickaxe you can not use it. So getting 25 copper and iron ore to smelt into 5 bars each is important because those can be used to upgrade the pickaxe all the way to steel which makes rocks break much faster

@@PappyB52 I trick I use is fish will always jump up. That being the case means you can start spamming the button to move the bar up and down as soon as you get a hit. This helps you not lose fish right away. I continue to tap instead of holding the button until i reel it in because tapping is much more accurate than holding. That's the basic mechanics but we can use in game items to make it easier. Willy's shop (Sunday-Friday) sells Trout soup which increases your fishing level, in turn making your bar larger. There are also sometimes fish buff foods sold at the saloon. The higher the level the better. The last trick i would recommend is once you can afford an iridium fishing rod and have reached level 6 fishing you'll be able to attach bobbers to the rod. My favorite is the trap bobber because it makes the progress bar decrease at half speed which is really nice for very difficult fish
@@EthanM_ I found that using touch screen (playing on ios for now) is easier than controller. Also I am on day 4 and only lvl 2 fishing. so no fiberglass rod. :( I am having to run bzck to home to save my $
@PappyB52 I've never played mobile. I would love to give advice but im not sure. But eithet way even if you arent level 5 fishing you still should be able to afford what you need and if you need an extra day and are following 1 day behind you'll still be perfectly fine
@@EthanM_ I went ahead and bought for pc. and started over. I am at day 7. still dont have copper pickaxe cause I didnt have enough $ and only have 3 iron bars. Is that going to be a bad thing?
Man, how on Earth are you so flush? I've restarted like three times and haven't pulled a single iridium anything, and never have enough money for day five. That's with the maximal amount of fish catching too
It can be for a few reasons. Fishing tile location. Since the tile your bobber is in determines the quality. Early on i mostly get gold quality. But I would say for fishing tap or spam the button that makes the bar move up and down as soon as you hook something because most fish start by moving up. But this is a complex question because there are a lot of special mechanics to fishing.

@@PappyB52No. You'll catch up. In the meantime just keep fishing and growing crops
But this is a complex question because there are a lot of special mechanics to fishing.
i sold the potato🥔😭😭, what am i gonna do now
Buy another. If you cant use the speedgro on strawberries save it for blueberries in summer
@EthanM_ thankssss
please do this for every season!😅

Wait arent chubs better to eat?
@@rjam98 Yes. I save them for mines food since they also offer a decent amount of health. While fishing ill eat whatever is cheap
@EthanM_ oh ok makes sense. Good to know
Ahh upload the summer guide HAHAHAHA
You do not need to do this. Just take your time enjoy the game. No need to speedrun
@@CNBLURR It's helpful for people who want to progress fast. If you want to spend your spring walking around town and meeting people, go for it. It's just a game where you should play how you enjoy :)
@@EthanM_I love your videos and these guides are amazing. This video is amazing and keep it up! As a new player, I found it really useful and I enjoy playing like this :)
I don’t have enough coalllll
@@mariahnewport4729 Coal is a very big problem. I usually spend a few days dust sprite farming or fish and sell to buy coal from clint

@@matthewzinkovic That's very fair. Eventually i want to make a video on deep diving specific mechanics
