Void chicken, dino or duck don't need friendship or go outside if you want to make mayo - only feeding needed. Chicken needs it as you want large egg - and with large eggs turned into may they the best money maker.Void chicken is slightly lower and all other coop animals are much lower profit wise (aside from gold chicken). Dinosaurs however have a different path - get Treasure Appraisal Guide from Artifact Trove and the dino egg will go 3x in price which makes it better to sell raw than to make may - then coopmaster and hearts matter a lot as you want iridium eggs. When it comes to profits - having around 20 chickens and selling mayo will bring more profit than your typical rush of quality sprinklers and blueberries sold raw in summer - on meadowlands farm it's rather easy to have early summer and scale from that into pigs or going low maintenance coops with dinos and void chickens.
3:02 Hay withdrawing trick is great for making do with 1 silo. It's a big deal if you end up crunched for Robin's building time. BUT very important to note: you can't withdraw if you've upgraded your barns and coops to deluxe with 12 animals in each. In that case, all hay slots will be full in the trough, and none will be withdrawn. Which is why I fill my silo and empty it before upgrading my last barn/coop.
Side note - for those who don’t know, there is a guaranteed way to get a chicken of a specific colour of your choice on your farm-applicable to only white, brown, and after you’ve unlocked/seen Shane’s 8 heart event the blue chicken. When you go to buy the chicken, it pops up with the screen about picking a coop to place your chicken, and in that screen it specifies the colour of the chicken. You can cancel out of that and go back to the animal purchase menu. Just keep clicking to buy chicken and cancel until you have the colour you want. In my one save, I did this to have an entirely blue chicken farm 😂
The reason truffles give foraging exp is that truffle pigs don't "produce" truffles. Truffles are mushrooms. These pigs just sniff and dig em out. So you are picking mushrooms. Which is foraging 😂
It is more expensive but if you don't have access to tea saplings yet you can do the same thing with the first tier of sprinklers well with any of the sprinklers really you can make a wall of sprinklers then place down one fence post so you can place the gate that will still Decay but it's a lot better having to do with only one post and gate then the entire fence
It turns out that ducks don’t need to be fed at all if they swim in a water? and also lay eggs every other day instead of every day like chickens, which makes them a best choice for lazy asses like me.
Leave the barn doors open for the animals to be safe from night attacks. Yes we know it is always best to leave doors open so animals are safe. Just do it or your favorite little dinosaur will die.
Having done an animals-only, pigs banned playthrough, be warned fellow animal enthusiasts: cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits are not worth it for the money. Rabbits are great for the universally loved feet, but none of these will make a noticeable fraction of starfruit wine cash. Self-sustaining grass is quite challenging if you actually go for dozens of sheep. They drink up that green smoothie from the top down, pulverizing it into bottom scraps that regrow slowly in only 1 direction. This can be mitigated with the fences trick - but let grass grow along the entire perimeter and cover fences or lightning rods so that grass won't be eaten and will spread back into the center. Also place barns/coops opposite each other with big grass patches between them so it can grow back both ways. If/when you buy your ~10 or 12th barn full of sheep, it seems like there's no hope for the grass anymore. All you can do is harvest some wheat for hay on the side, and buy a lot from Marnie. Cuts into profits making this strategy with goats or chickens pretty untenable, but sheep and pigs are so profitable it works out alright. Hardest of all is the labor involved compared to starfruit wine. Petting that many sheep is quite onerous, for which autopetters are a godsend, but those, like animal crackers, are in very limited supply. Unless you buy the joja membership, which I honestly recommend if you truly go pure animal.
I still don't saw much about the new pets gift feature. Yes the wiki explain it. But there's still questions I need to know the answer, which is: Does it guarantee gifting you after reaching max 💓, like each day have 20% chance or it's literally 20% at all time (1 from 5 day). Or is it based on luck ? Do they (the pets) randomly gift the item on their list or choosing the one you needed the most. For example, certain artifact that you haven't found yet from the pet Dog. Is it possible to reset the day and get different item from the pets ? My first gift from my pet cat is rabbit's foot, which is one of the rare one on it's list. That is coincidentally 1 item from 2 thing that I need for CC from the cat gift list. And after that my cat hasn't given me anything yet. I tried resetting the day but after 5 times I came to conclusion that it did not work like that.
The silo is the first building I buy, well before I consider buying a coup or barn. I have a question, does the blue grass turn into hay if you cut it and can you buy bluegrass starters?
I'm pretty sure the auto petter does not increase any hearts for animals, it simply prevents heart levels from dropping. That was how it used to be, at least.
Petting adds 15 friendship. The autopetter adds 8 friendship per day. The autopetter prevents the friendship loss from not being pet. So yeah, the auto-petter is just good with no downside. Unlike the auto-grabber. Gathering animal products normally gives 5 friendship. The auto-grabber gives no friendship. It isn't much of a loss, but I guess it depends on how desperate you are to level up friendship with your new animals.
@Chris_Sizemore honestly free passive hearts at half speed won't bother me. The only thing hearts really change is Large Milk for gold Cheese in my preferences. Any star quality cooks the same result.
@@jiggymacable It makes a difference with ostriches, sheep, pigs, rabbits... but personally I prefer cows too. I don't ranch for a profit, but mainly for a consistent supply of ingredients.
This was awesome thank you! I have a deluxe coop and a deluxe barn, and poor Robin has been at work everyday on my farm building more to expand my animal empire 😎
Penny is based for this. Seriously, how come no one else thinks it’s twisted af to cut off rabbits’ feet and give them as gifts? I know the rabbits aren’t actually losing any limbs, but where else could they be coming from?? Are these bunnies part lizard?
I really need to stop watching these SV recommended videos … keeps building the urge and strong desire to play, but I’m trying to hold out for the update-which I plan on starting a new save with the new farm type. I’ve held out for this long now, and there’s just one week and a day left before the update is supposed to release. But the struggle is so real! 😂
Animals habe always been so laughably unprofitable compared to most other methods. But their cuteness cannot be overlooked
RIGHT??
Laughs in truffle oil factory
they’re good in early game after 1.6 but artisan is THE way to go
Pigs are profitable and cute and ostriches to but yeah
They're stable profit early game. In mid to late game they're better used as food makers for high quality healing items.
I like to buy my pigs toward the end of winter so they mature when they would not produce and they are ready to go first day of spring.

Goat! I didn't know that about putting a lightning rod in the grass. really helpful as my animals eat way too much.
1 gold egg gives you 3 gold stat mayos worth more than the egg, only iridium quality golden eggs are worth the same as the 3 mayos
