I know this is an old video, but it is still helpful and informative. I just got an auction truck, m1083A1. My air-over hydraulic pump is weak and leaking so this video was helpful for many reasons. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Thanks for the video. My lift was not working at all & the reservoir was almost empty. After inspection I found 3 cracks in the reservoir and the pump was totally wasted. I just finished rebuilding a new reservoir out of #10 steel (crack now you bastard). I am waiting on my eBay rebuild kit. Thanks again for posting your videos.
What?! You are listing the tools you need, now? LOL! I thought that was my gig. Great build... great tips! (Now it works like Malachai's pump.) I'll know what to do if mine quits. Thanks, Sean!
Father Time and rubber degradation broke it. Lol. My luck everything would go flying. Plus I’m clumsy so chances are I loose something after taking it apart. Great info
i just tried my cab lift in auto for the first time, im pretty sure the same unit you rebuilt either needs replacement or at minimum rebuilt. I lost a few gallons of fluid on the ground and that part definitely is leaking now. I should have just used manual for now, but wanted to try it. Now I know I need at least that rebuilt and more fluid.
Just wondering which one is the fluid pickup tube? The big hexagon one at the very low point at the bottom? Doesn't look like its the narrow long one or the threaded one
Been there. Done that. That was the FIRST thing we had to rebuild when we got the truck. Couldn’t resolve the no start issue until we could get to the engine. Which meant we also had to rebuild the cab latch, as it was next in the hydraulic line...and it was also kaput. 😂
I admire your enthusiasm for doing the job but you should move that table you have with wheels about 10 or 15 feet closer to your tool box and save all the running back and forth.
Hey Sean it's me again I found the video I was looking for now I can't find the seals online. Did you purchase from spxflow? I saw it on the top of the receipt for the seals. Thanks again.
I believe so. I did that mod long ago so you may have trouble finding a source for the parts. Are you on the facebook LMTV page? There is a parts sheet in the files section you can download....
Sean, I have water that somehow got into the air over hydraulic system. Fluid is milky yellow and needs to be removed 100% Also the pump needs rebuilt as covered in #108. Do you have any idea how to evacuate all the oil from the system? I can't find a sump anywhere to get the process started. Thank you in advance, Mark
I work at a truck shop in North Carolina. Working on one for our local fire department. Need front door glass. One company shows they have one but won't email us back. Any reliable parts source? Thanks for the info. I installed the seal backwards the first time.

Another good video your teaching alot of people how to work on these trucks
You make it look easy thanks for sharing can’t wait to see what is next !
Your my hero Sean. These truck are intimidating but you always seem to persevere.
You had to have been a mechanic in the service working on these trucks. You amaze me. Nice job as always. Rich
Never been a mechanic but I have always been unafraid to take things apart to figure out how they work and fix them. Easy peasy right? :D

Thanks for the video and part numbers. The air over cachunk-a-chunk is getting a little slow on mine as well. Might be time for a rebuild.
Yup. Easy to do. Good maintenance either way.
Nice music and work

Common issue on these trucks. I have not had to mess with it since I rebuilt it.
Well done
Does it have an internal relief valve?

What ended up being the cause of your no start issue?
Sean Fillner It came down to the IAP high oil pressure sensor. We chased it through the batteries, ECM, HUEI, fuel pump and filters. Ours is a 2002.
What’s the operating pressure of that hydraulic pump?

Thanks for reviving an older video! Much appreciated!
So my cab lock leaked and I just put in new seals. The leaking fluid looks yellow. Can I just top off with ATF?
It could be hydraulic fluid of some sort. When is the last time you did a systemic fluid change on the hydro systems??
@@SeanFillner never I just picked it up
Oh, lots of systems on that truck to recondition before I would take it anywhere....

Sean, great job, are you 100% on ATF instead of Hydro oil?
Yes I am!
Awesome...
What HP rating can you get with an air motor?
I need around 16HP.
Is the winch still working
You mean this pump? Yes. Still works great!
did you have vapor coming out of the pump before rebuild and after rebuild
Only before.
Working on one right now. Same thing and have hydraulic fluid spraying out of the vent. Any recommendations?
Hi Josh! Rebuild it just like I did in the vlog....Thanks!

@@josht5141 try omni glass in Wisconsin I believe. Join our facebook lmtv page. We have a few people on there selling parts.
What's your recommended brand of "cherry syrup"?
Buy the cheapest stuff you can find. WalMart super tech 1 gallon for 12 bucks is good.
Necesito un vídeo así pero grabódo desde muy cerca
