Nat King Cole was a unique, very great musical personality. A wonderful jazz pianist too, but his cool, soothing, mesmeric singing overshadowed the brilliance of his piano playing. Perhaps because his voice created a relaxing, reassuring, undeniably elegant atmosphere wherever it was heard.
Anne Baxter one of my favourite actresses. A nice cold night. Nothing like a black/white movie to easy the night. Nat King Cole so smooth. Cant make movies like this again.
Want to know something that's gonna blow your mind? The dude standing to the left of NKC playing violin would go one to be the electric violinist for Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship.
+Uncle Keifer I wondered about that too - I remembered Creach's name but figured he was just another hippy - turns out that is him, he was born in 1918.
Watching this movie right now. One of a kind, beautiful voice and smooth style. My uncles, in their youth, enjoyed a healthy dating life because of their striking resemblance to Nat Cole. They even sang like him. Hey, everybody's gotta have a gimmick. 🤣
I love this song - same name as movie, Fritz Lang the greatest movie maker the creator of Film Noir my tea - I cannot find this movie I- any of the down votes have a copy to sell. Nat King Cole - tone … honey... voice is one of the greats. Baxter is fantastic in this movie - check her out in All About Eve w/Bette Davis - can get that movie on amazon.
Supposedly the violinist in this clip is Papa John Creach, who played with The Jefferson Starship and Hot Tuna in the ‘70’s-‘90’s. Hard to tell for sure with no closeup but def looks like him.
Blue Gardenia a beautiful romantic Song from the gardenias as adornment in the tresses of Billie Holiday and White Gardenia in Summertime with Rosanna Brazzi and Katherine Hepburn.
Nat was unmatched!!
No male vocalist came close to him then or now!
One of Nat's most beautiful songs!
Saw this movie this afternoon on TMC.....I was just blown away by Nat King Cole singing this wonderful song.

Eloquently said.
I’m 72, remember watching Nat as a little kid. His voice was and is sheer magic!
Where do you find nowadays a voice so smooth, just wonderful Nat
The youth today seem to think they have to scream when they sing. In doing so they are quite forgettable. Nat never will be.
You nailed it. The youth today songs will not be memorable. Un like Nat's song's which are UNFORGETABLE!❤
Unforgettable Nat KING Cole!...
And the gentleman at the table with Ann Baxter is Raymond Burr in his pre-Perry Mason days. "Blue Gardenia" is one of my favorite Nat King Cole songs.
Wonderful song, wonderful movie, wonderful singer, wonderful cast.
From the very first moment I heard this song in the movie….I was entranced. Simply one of the best.
The wonderful Nat King Cole. Lovely artist and a true gentleman. Rip Mr. Cole God welcome you forever.
An adorable voice!
Wow! Anne Baxter, Raymond Burr, Nat King Cole, Celia Lovsky (T'Pao on "Star Trek") AND Hot Tuna's Papa John Creach, all in one scene!
Anne Baxter one of my favourite actresses. A nice cold night. Nothing like a black/white movie to easy the night. Nat King Cole so smooth. Cant make movies like this again.
I love how Anne Baxter's wildly enthusiastic applause at the end of Nat's song shows just how intoxicated she's already become.
Poor girl, she's in for a very bad night.
WAY WAY above average movie by one of the world's greatest directors.

Papa John Creach! Thanks for pointing that out!..
+Uncle Keifer I wondered about that too - I remembered Creach's name but figured he was just another hippy - turns out that is him, he was born in 1918.
she has tossed us aside...

Grande Nat, um gênio, voz de veludo!
Amo essa música e o cantor!
lovely song. Raymond Burr was quite a hunk too before Perry Mason! You see him in Rear Window too.
A hunk of fat.
A-1 !!!
"Quintessence" Cole.
Not an average film at all. A classic film noir directed by Fritz Lang starring Raymond Burr.
