    • @GamerMasterlink
      @GamerMasterlink 4 місяці тому

      @@bobgoddIt seems that the only solution for this easy setup is to actually have a PC as a TV box. It appears that for now, SignalRGB is Windows-only, so that would mean using software like Kodi or Stremio as a frontend library for your media. This narrows your options, as you'll need to buy a PC that can handle Windows 10, so that means no SBCs (well, there are SOME SBCs that work) for that purpose. I MIGHT try this, but Hyperion seems like the more budget-friendly option. I hope that they port the software to Linux, since that would open a world of opportunities!

    Chris, you're a legend man! I honestly can't thank you enough! I've been meaning to build one of those fancy setups using one of the products sold solely for that kind of setup however I reverted back from doing so considering spend priorities and necessities and whatnot, however this gives me exactly what I'd like to have completely for free except with the limitation of devices to have the setup run on being a pc software rather than hardware that can be connected to other HDMI devices like a gaming console. I'm still very happy to have that setup for pc only and am quite surprised if I'm being honest to have such precise configuration and accurate results with just software! I thought it's possible but didn't expect it to be available that soon yet alone for free! Thanks so much, Chris. You really are one of my top go-to guys when it comes to ambient lighting and décor ❤ Keep up the great work! 👏👏

      Thanks so much for watching! Not that i'm aware of. The only downside is that at least in my understanding, the signal does have to come from the pc. I wonder if loading signal rgb to something like this amzn.to/4b1iwQW and using that as your streaming device would work? But I also dont see why at some point signalrgb wouldn't be able to make this available via androidtv, appletv, amazonfire, roku, etc via an app which would then be able to work like you are wanting it to!

      I'll put it on the video to do list. Its actually really neat. I don't think any hardcore gamers would be happy with it, but I've streamed content from my pc downstairs to a projector upstairs and both picture and sound were amazing. My wife and kids couldn't even tell the movie was not being streamed from the Nvidia shield like normally.

      @@ChrisMaherDIY I look forward to this video too as I'm a bit confused about this. My content, whether it's TV or android box, gets sent through an AVR and then to the projector.

    So why does the baseboard LEDs have more LEDs per foot? Would there be an issue if I used those on the back of my TV? Also, is SignalRGB able to be controlled from my phone once it's setup on my HTPC? Thanks and thank you for this great video.

      Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. This is not going to be an option if you're wanting to use your built in tv apps. (Govee Camera System is your only option in that case: amzn.to/3UL76ez ) With this method you're connecting your pc to the tv or projector via one of the two methods described in the video and running your media off the pc. But now that SignalRGB has built the tool, I dont see why at some point they wouldn't be able to make this available via a smart tv app, androidtv, appletv, amazonfire, roku, etc.

      If you're thinking of getting it working with content directly from the TV you'll need an external video capture source. Something like a webcam trained on the TV as input for the software. Would still need a PC tho. There are off the shelf solutions but no where near as customiseable

    • @jakejuracka
      @jakejuracka 25 днів тому +1

      I would imagine you could accomplish something similar to this by using an HDMI capture card sending your TV's feed into a computer which is controlling the LEDs. This would only work if you used your TV with an external smart device, like Google TV, Roku, or Apple TV.
      Provided signalRGB has support for an HDMI capture input, it would work similarly.

    • @Sammypuppy611
      @Sammypuppy611 20 днів тому +1

      @@jakejuracka Would the Computer need to be open and running whenever you use the leds?

    • @jakejuracka
      @jakejuracka 20 днів тому

      @@Sammypuppy611 yes, a computer is always needed to compute the color and position of the LEDs. There are standalone products available that offer similar results through HDMI passthrough, but they are nowhere near as customizable as this software is.
