Randy you most definitely have the best and most informative fishing channel on UA-cam in my opinion. And a big reason is because of videos just like this one that most other pro anglers don’t even mention, let alone go into detail about. Never disappointed.
Black is a great color for hard baits too. I do great on a little black crankbait in lots of different water colors. Rattletrap too! Of course top water black is always a good choice.
Learned something new today!!! Been fishing over 60 years; like I said, learned something new today!!! Thank you very very much!!! God bless!!! Chuck Knight from Atascocita, Texas. ✝️🎣👨🌾🦌🙏
Oh yeah black. I hand pour a 12” that I love at daybreak, low light and dirty water conditions. Great tips. Thanks for the videos. Tight lines and Godspeed
Couldn’t agree with this video any more. Thank you for showing love to the dirty water system guys. Living and fishing on the river makes some days just flat out tough when the water gets too murky and black is the only color we can use. I try to just load em’ up with rattles too.
Great advice Randy. Thank you. I would only add that for us maniacs that love night fishing, black is the best. Weather it be slow rolling a single blade "thumper" spinnerbait over cover on the bottom, or a Chatterbait for 6-10 ft, or a black buzbait , or my favorite, a black Jitterbug over stumps in two or three feet of water. In 1974 a friend took my out on Percy Priest night fishing for the first time. I caught three that night, between 4 and 6 pounds on a black Jitterbug. I always have one tied on when Im night fishing now.
Great summer technique with an 8" black zoom lizard...rip the legs off and fish it with a light weighted swimbait hook, especially if u have alot of snakes...some vicious strikes at times
I always laugh when you talk of water you can see two-three feet of water, I fish in eastern OK. where more times not, I am lucky to see 5-6 inches. Great videos always learn something and I've been Bass fishing for 70 years.
My dad told me when I was young that I only needed two colors of worm..black or purple. I was about 14 so around 1973 is when I started fishing a plastic worm.
Was hoping you’d be talking about the Murray scope-athon again. Zona and the boys gaslighting us about how the young guns are still great anglers even without FFS literally while we’re looking at a split screen of two of them staring at their screens. Trey McKinney said he “doesn’t know a thing about catching fish on herring lakes” and yet here he is absolutely blasting them on a topwater he’s casting to fish he’s watching on his TV and not even watching the blow-ups which, as I still believe, is the reason we all started fishing in the first place. It’s a weird damn coincidence that these guys got so “good” exactly at the same time FFS took over. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Under the right conditions as you said…… MegaBass makes…from the Vios collection Power up Edition 4” Spindle worm HI-Float in Black Beer color. Amazing plastic but they’re obscenely expensive(sold in a 3 F.F.S.😂) and hard to find. It’s just a collectors item now sadly but another Company should copy the designs. My all time favorite Wave Fishing/Wave worms makes(made…might be permanently discontinued sadly) a creature bait with 4 arms and a paddle tail. The bottom arms are smaller paddles like the tail. It’s molded black on one side and dark blue on the other side with relatively large glitter specs. Amazing creature design and awesome color. I wish I had 1 thousand. You can rig the Wave bait a plethora of ways of course but a Texas rig makes white stripped bass go nuts on the drop like a wacky worm rig. Godspeed
I do not tx fish anymore. Therefore, I only carry Black Berkley ribbontail worms to lessen my tackle per trip. Same with my jigs, But I do use different trailer colors.
Man I found out that a black top water works so good right when it’s about to get dark and right when the sun is coming up slightly cloudy when you see them boiling here and there
I use black at night its just the one color that if there is any surface light at all they can make that profile out at night, i see so many people fishing the wrong stuff at night
Was fishing Lake Juliette a couple of years ago and the only way we caught bass on was a 4 inch black finesse worm with no weight . All were good fish and all up against the bank. Good times 😃👍
Thank you for the scripture! I was getting ready to move to the next video when I heard you say today’s scripture. I stopped and subscribed. Prayers for your channel to grow and grow. Thanks for the great video
Those black salamander lures work great in muddy water, you know it’s good if it was able to catch a semi-lunker while I was passing through a fishing hell hole like Arizona😂😂😂 he was thicc👌too, with two c’s lol! However, I think they work best in muddy bayou’s & murky water ways down south.

Yeah,Randy can cover the history of it, the reason for it and the future of it. He certainly makes a good teacher
Spot on! Contrast contrast contrast. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.
Excellent video. Great information and not a lot of fluff. When they’re like this, I enjoy them every time. Thanks Randy!

I’ve used black and blue before in the clearest of water and done very good as well. Id said it’s one of the best colors next to green pumpkin

Flakes are better imo u get the shiny if there is sunlight cant hurt to have it added on solid black
Black is by far the best all around color. Looks natural, easy to see in clear and dirty and water.
Randy I just want to say I watch all your fishing info videos. 🙌

agreed, we would use black streamers to fish at night for stripers
Great video, Randy! I texas rig a black toad, let it run about 5' deep, and i get big hits with it. I use a 1/4 once black bullet weight with it.
I agree with Black Lures 100%
We fish at night down south during the hot months of summer with all black , even on the dark moon nights .
Bass aren't nocturnal, they are diurnal; they work during the day and sleep at night, so what do you fish at night for? Swamp ghetto catfish?
Tom Mann told me once when I was at his place in lake eufaula that any color worm works great as long as it’s black or blue grape
Tom Mann knew his sh*t ain't nothing better than a big jelly worm 🪱 here in Texas in the summer
Haven’t used Solid black lures until watching your videos last year. I have a lot of dirty shallow water here in Louisiana and I caught fish on them!

And I live where you can see bottom at 20 feet alot.
Where I'm at in Georgia its the same thing, maybe 6" on a good day a 12".
@@Southpawreb wow 20', thats insane, i've never been anywhere where i seen that deep.
Try Bull Shoals and Table Rock lakes. Great clarity and deep!
@@johnnybstuddd4482 Watauga lake in East Tennessee at times can see bottom over 30’

Who can’t catch bass when they busting over and over , that visual bass feeding those fish when they are feeding like that , they will hit anything
Top shelf tip right there!
Under the right conditions as you said……

Ive been catching on black finesse worms. The river is muddy lately and that's all that seems to work.
The 12 inch purple segmented tournament worm. Will catch the biggest fish every time. Try to find one

Where can you get the solid black tubes Randy?

Truth
Do you like solid black in the situations you mentioned or do you like black with a flake in them?
Blueberry is the best of both worlds imo

Lake Juliette ....Georgia??? If so, very much a clear water lake with excellent fishing! 👍
Came here expecting another FFS rant, stayed for the black lure conversation
On the quietest of days, black and blue rage will break the egg.
Black skirt on buzzbait is 💴
Once you go black you don’t go back
If you ever fish for muskies you'll know lure choice#1 of the majority of musky hunters is a black bucktail, with black or nickel blades

Black lures matter
I don't keep black baits in my boat. You know why?? Because they won't work. 😂😂😂
😂

Central ohio its all shallow chocolate milk. I have very minimal natural color baits.
Wren is really loud
Everytime i buy any soft plastic lures i make sure i get the black version.
