Here's what some icons have to say about the book!!!
Ice-T: "Respect to Soren Baker for documenting the history of gangster rap in these pages. Some hate it. Some love it. But you can’t deny its brutal, hardcore honesty."
The D.O.C.: "History has so often been written by the victors, that you very rarely ever get the real story behind anything. So it’s really important to hear from the people that were there, which is exactly what Soren Baker shares in this book. He writes about it and he’s honest about it."
Xzibit: "Hip-hop changed the world. Gangster rap changed the narrative, and then changed the world again. Soren Baker has been a very integral part of documenting hip-hop on the West Coast for as long as I can remember. I don’t think anybody is more qualified to write this book."
Leslie “Big Lez” Segar: "Soren Baker has changed the perspective of gangster rap by putting his pen to paper. He has given hip-hop power, proven its potential, and made non-believers contemplate all of its possibilities. The truth in his writing leaves no stone unturned, something he's done again with The History of Gangster Rap. Soren doesn’t just champion hip-hop. He also reveals its flaws and its truths."

I was born in '88. This makes a lot of sense.
Top Billin' is my favorite hip hop track. When it came out, it resonated with me on a personal level, cause it was different from everything else but flavorful, which is how I saw myself. As a drummer in a marching band, it felt like one of those beats you make/play when you're fkn around that you know is dope, but can't be performed cause you can't march/dance to it.
Interesting, Jay Juggernaut. It's such a great beat. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccessEnt.
Hip Hop had a “male bully mentality” in reaction to all of the male bashing music of the 70s and 80s. Gwen Guthrie came out with “Nothing is Going on but the Rent” in 1986. How long did mainstream media expect black men to accept disrespect?
Interesting point, Rey S. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccessEnt.
