If you are planning to make it with flannel for both sides (like I did), it is unlikely that the fabric would move apart. If you are using cotton or some other fabric, it is better that you quilt the blanket!
Does anyone know where to find sewing groups? I have found that their are non-profits in my area in need of blankets and kid's clothing ranging from newborn to young adult.
Very nice. I will give it a try for my first grandson!
Great tutorial just a little harder to follow at the end!

Do you not find it necessary to run a line or two of stitching across to hold the layers together a little better?
Yes, that would be great!
Can you share what length and width you use?
What seam allowance do you use? 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch.

Is there any reason you cannot serger the material together
Is it a yard fabric in total or the two types combined to make a yard?
Thank you
Is it a yard or yard and half
It is one yard.
