- "Pivoting" is a term artists use in the industry for changing direction in a piece so let's talk about it and how it can fix your art.

This was a warmup piece I did for one of my twitter followers and it took me around 2 hours. I'd be tempted to take this piece up to full render one day, but as it stands it's just a quick warmup.
The speed in which you work is fascinating to me. Something such as this would at least take me 10-15 hours; your level of efficiency is astounding and something I am slowly striving for as I learn digital art. You’re something of a role model for me and your tutorials/way of viewing things is immensely helpful 😊
I think I'd rather delete a project if there are too many glaring problems rather than just overlooking it and hoping no one will notice it. For me it's more about the personal satisfaction rather than what people see.
"If you're good at something, never do it for free."
I'd love to see more of your 'line work', which actually seems like the same large-to-small work you do with painting. Big swooping strokes getting smaller and more detailed. It was cool to watch and gave me some ideas.
I like your line art. To be honest It’s hard to tell your line art from your non-art art and I mean that as a compliment.
Thank you! My favorite part of any piece is usually the rendering so I tend to render and blend most of my pieces similarly.
talking about seeing magic happen on it's process holy this is amazing gamma
Thank you! That's very kind to say
You just gain a suscribtion from myself, I was waiting the same amount of time for this as you... Finally, after a whole life, a friendly plugin that makes everything easier and practical. Goodbye OBS!, You have a special place in heaven for this, good SIR.
I'm always astonished with every 'warm up' piece you make and they never fail to inspire me to go and paint something even after just one video of yours - but this? Seeing you challenge yourself with something you don't usually do, hear you say you're also not always satisfied with what you're doing - you're one of us! - and seeing your way around the obstacle? You made my evening!
Also I love how your linework is messy and clear at the same time, it'd be interesting to see it more of it!
Ngl this was very inspirational as a beginner artist i am happy that im not the only one
When giving this advice to others, or repeating it to myself, I've always said "don't be precious about it." Besides, like anything, iteration and practice will inevitably lead to improvement. Mileage is a good thing. Plus, if you're working digitally you have a massive leg up. You can always just duplicate your layer, try something new, and flash back and forth to see what's better - you don't even need to commit to your erasing!
Thanks for showing set backs that even the pros encounter. I hope someday I think that 2 hours is longer than usual for such a nice illustration like this!
Setbacks and pivots will happen to us all, it's a perfectly natural part of the chaotic process of creativity.
The best illustrator UA-camr is back! Yess
it's such a hard skill to learn TT Especially if it felt so right during the sketching phase or the building phase and then find out it's the problem. Sadge but definitely worth the pivot every time
Right at break time 👌💯
Calculated
Well bless you for that good sir 🙏💯@Gammatrap
Let it goooo let it gooo🎶🤣🤷♀️
Yes pls, more Gamma linework pls 🙏
Me over here doing most of my art free unless force-paid cause I feel like I'm jipping peeps with the lack of time management on my end 🤣🤷♀️🤣 lolol
Always be able to get rid of it
Very true🤩
Well now my nightelf hasn´t just an awesome painting won but is also immortalized as a tutorial vid. Both were very unexptected lol. Next char will defintivly be commisoned!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Okay but my serious question is... when did WoW start allowing Nelf Warlocks???
Last I checked, last year I think
@@Gammatrap *old lady noises* Back in my day, we didn't have no Locks in our Nelfs! *shakes fist* Get off muh Darnassus lawn!
So basically turning your art to get a better angle?
Your wordplay is legendary
@@Gammatrap I try 🤣
it was all fine and dandy till i heard gamma say it usually takes him an hour tops...
all the small amount of fragile confidence i had mustered turned to dust😅😂
I wouldn't worry. I've spent the last several years practicing moving very fast. That's not what many people focus on. I personally just wanted to see how fast I could go while sacrificing as little quality as possible.
I draw hentai girls but this dark style is amazing. Wish i could make this kind of stuff too.
I wish I was this good at rendering, maybe one day.
I plan on making another big video on that topic
