    Forgive the length but I wanted to bundle these little guides and draw-alongs into a single video. Also, I posted a poll and you specifically asked for more tutorials. I just haven't done a long, step-by-step one like this in a while. Let me know what you'd like me to cover next.

      Cant speak for everyone but I usually put vids like this on while drawing to practice or just have some inspiration and noise in the background so I welcome any longer vids honestly

      I'm just starting it lol, I'm sure I'll love it.
      A little sad though cause I've been waiting for water from ya and for a sec I thought this was lava and was like CLOSE ENOUGH 🤣🤷‍♀️ Looks like I'm practicing fire today though lolol 🤷‍♀️

    I’m interpreting the rolling to be some of the fire wanting to rise but the force of the fire behind it moving forward with such force that it sucks the fire back into itself.

    Just what I needed, thank you!
    I can't seem to find a proper tutorial on drawing dragons though, something like on the cover of "Fizban's treasury of dragons", the kind that look like they have thick bones. So if you ever run out of ideas, would appreciate!

      Oh one day! I need to just sit down and make a plan really. It might be easier for some to pick it up, but because it bends light and warps the environment, it can be very tough to explain

    Can you do a tutorial on how to blend fire to a character? Like a dragon whose half of their body/face is on fire/silhouette and the other half is not while the middle is a mixed of the two. Thanks for your work, gamma!

    Just discovered Glow Dodge on CSP recently myself and love it.
    Suggestion? Unique spells! I just did a blood ooze magic and have been curious to see more unique types. Maybe even the cool WoW warlock colors, for example.

    I know you've done a tutorial on ice magic before, but could you do one on objects made of ice? Like making an ice sword or an ice wall or an ice slide a la Ice Man? IDK, I tried to apply your ice tutorial to something similar and it didn't quite work when I had to make the shape recognizable and recognizably icy.

    Was it the color scarlet you were looking for? That's the pretty red orange lol
    And sorry for the water wanting comment earlier Gamma! 🤦‍♀️🤣🤷‍♀️ There are plenty of great water tutorials out there... but no one explains shtuff quite like you do 🤷‍♀️ It's just facts. Lol
    Still love how you post art sheet always when I'm looking for it. Done like 3 dragons for my man and have scrapped all of em and have decided to try to do your style for it, and low and behold you post a fire tutorial with the same fire breathing I need. Bless you sir 🙇‍♀️🎊👾

    Game assets require completely transparent backgrounds, that means color blending doesn't look the same. You might've noticed the colors change after converting your layers to smart objects.
    How would you deal with that type of situation when you only have alpha and colors to play with?

    • @Gammatrap
      @Gammatrap  4 місяці тому

      In photoshop and procreate I would lasso or select the item, then copy canvas, which copies every pixel on every layer under the selection. Then I would make a new layer and paste the solid item. I have to do some digging on clip studio though

    • @KiaAzad
      @KiaAzad 4 місяці тому

      @@Gammatrap My question was more about dealing with blending modes. Working in layers and separating them is the easy part.

    • @Gammatrap
      @Gammatrap  4 місяці тому +1

      If you're wanting a solid asset you'll want to merge the layers. I would advise against any kind of bloom or glow that exceeds the edges of the asset so when everything is merged you don't have any fuzzy glowing from a blending mode that gets flattened and looses the effect. Before merging, apply it as a clipping mask to confine the effect to the bounds of the asset. If you want a bloom affect or shader in the game it would be best to add that in engine.

    You switching to CSP for this guide brings up a question from me, should an artist learn to use both programs (CSP/Photoshop/or any other program for that matter)or is one just as good as the other? Love your tutorials!

    • @Gammatrap
      @Gammatrap  28 днів тому +1

      They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but they share many of the strengths. So thankfully you aren't really tied to one app. You should try as many as you can. Many professionals often toss a file between multiple apps before finishing it
