„Head empty, hands moving“ is the best advice I’ve ever heard, from one of my favorite artists at that! Man, you’re awesome. Thank you for everything!!❤
I draw on paper but I honestly think your art content lets me bring my art to the next level. So thank you sir (I’m working on my art portfolio currently and your videos help me add the details I didn’t know I needed) best of luck from new zealand
Haven’t been on yt much and I’m so happy I logged in right in time to see this. I’ve had the creative itch for YEARS and could never get myself to make anything and I’m finally in a place where I think I can start, just didn’t know how. I’ll definitely be keeping up with you more.
I know it would take some time to make, but brush pack or packs could be cool incentives, members only drawing streams, maybe raffle-ing off guardian or oc portrait's could be cool too.
I hope people don’t gatekeep you anymore, gosh you have the most helpful art advice without making it boring or sad, ❤❤❤ loved this, please keep making videos like this 🥹
Solid advice - sticking to the edges of your comfort zone is also a good way to trigger the flow state and keep learning new things (or refining things you're not THAT confident in drawing). It can be difficult to gauge at first, since if it gets too easy you'll get bored and quit. On the other hand, if it's too hard you quit out of sheer frustration. As for suggestions on what to make videos about - I don't think you've done water? The blood magic tutorial might come close, but I was thinking more along the lines of your fire tutorial (stylized and realistic). Maybe go from small, medium, and large body of water? Calm, slight slushing, to full stormy waves? Animal anatomy maybe? I can't recall which one it was, but I could swear that if you master 2-3 animal anatomy - you can essentially draw all animals. Horses might be one of them, but I have no idea of the two others. Or if I'm just tripping :P With regards to membership only content - Best I can think of is real-time drawing. It's not a step-by-step tutorial with voiced over instructions/pointers, but still a valuable way to gleam knowledge. Maybe restrict the content to original stuff and have real time drawings of Destiny fan-art (or whatever) open for everyone to see? On a last note, I took your brick wall, stylized fire, iron, and tree tutorials and stitched them together to make a piece of my own. I still have ways to go, but it was fun and refreshing to actually make a complete piece instead of doing isolated, without context studies. So, thanks for that!
Damn ain't that the truth. That's me. Stuck right at the cusp. Which is why I must thank you for introducing me to Mortis good sir. It's gotten those nice inspiration juices flowing up in my brain. I ACTUALLY DID A SKETCH PANEL LAST NIGHT OF QUINN 🤣 I posted it in the fanart. This way of clearing your mind and just going has been crazy helpful. I was STUCK STUCK so bad I may as well have been in a freaking alien trap. 🤣🤷♀️ What if you did like little digital badges, almost like the Pokémon badges but Gamma Badges? 🤣🤷♀️ Thank you for another wonderful video good sir!
That's an interesting idea, but is it worth it for people paying money for channel memberships to just get credits in a video or some kind of digital badge thing?
@Gammatrap That's what I was thinking. You'd have to add stuff to that probably. What about a hour sketch periodically when the payments add up to the amount you take for an hour? 🤔
@Gammatrap Yeah! Exactly! Idk if that's a good idea but I thought it'd be some good food for thought! That way you can have the reward vary depending on the amount you make, and your also not making 100 different people 100 different things! Sorry late reply I'm at work 🤣
@Gammatrap you could even do like a voting between the peeps and stuff that you want to draw, and then whatever gets the most votes is what is done that time? Idk sorry lol random my brains getting ideas now You don't use that I might later on 🤣🤷♀️🤣
Hey gammatrap (one word lol). I’ve been really inspired by this style of art. I ran into one issue trying to follow along the coloring in photoshop video. I use my iPad for all my digital art endeavors. To my surprise, photoshop for iPad doesn’t have a gradient map feature yet. (Hopefully it will soon). Is there anyway you can cover the topic of gradient mapping on procreate? Or is there at least an alternative way on photoshop for iPad to get the same effect? I really aspire to learn this style of charcoal/ color
Also was I tripping, or did I actually notice you get stuck on Emily's face and her mom's arm? Am I getting good enough to see that or was I imagining things? 🤣
Yes and no. I constantly move my hand and just come up with stuff to draw BUT I'll often go back and redo something if I feel it isn't good enough or gets in the way. That's one of the big things I talk about, how you should never feel "married" to anything in your piece and always be prepared to completely erase or change HUGE chunks of the piece in order to make it better. No fear.
@Gammatrap Yesss, I'm so glad I've learned that from you! It's helped so much not making myself think I HAVE to have certain things in the piece. It's so much nicer to be loose and be able to change things without having too much attachment to the idea, makes everything flow so much easier.
I hope you guys don't mind me making more videos ❤
Nah, don't worry about it. Every now and again when you feel like it 😗
My reply didn't show up apparently 🤬
I said
NEVER. I'LL FIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE TO YOU 🤣🤷♀️
KEEP EM COMING!!
Yes... how dare you ENTERTAIN ME YOU MONSTER! Love it. Keeps me motivated!
Not at all, man! Bring it on!
I have never felt more called out in my life, this exact scenario happened to me like three days ago!

Wait, who's gatekeeping me?

tldr action brings about motivation, not the other way around

Oh like more real-time videos? And just make like 1 a month and spend the amount of time on it as much I made from the memberships?

Christ, I needed this today. Thank you.
I spent 4 hours trying to draw anything, Ended up drawing bad sketches and boxes, went to sleep frustrated
What did you _want_ to draw?

good shit
Hello again, I just finished watching this video, and you mentioned you were open to suggestions. Does opening a discord server catch any interest?
I actually already have a discord, so no need to add it to the membership idea probably
A block of any kind sucks
