Good lord this video happened when he was 68 or 69 and he is still the most powerful presence and voice on stage, thats fuckin awesome. They really dont make em like they used to
I found it disappointing that he did not do a call out during the break to the immortals who invented the song; Smiley Lewis, (of course) Fats Domino and also the mention of Huey Smith..... That was a great very fitting touch in the original record....
Look at these simple audience invited members, not a clue that this is a rip-off of a great Smiley Lewis version, or that Elvis's 'One Night' is another rip-off of Smileys, I feel sorry for all you dupes.
I know this is his song but....there's got to be a better version...somewhere? By somebody?. More rock&roll? Great song....But...I remember when this came out. It was ok, but could've'should've been better. Sry Dave.....
Anthem of my teenage years what was it 71/72...when covered it - a classic thanks for posting.
I was 7 when this song came out! I remember it very well!
I was working at a car wash in the summer of '71 when this song was at its peak - still a classic from Mr. Dave!

love it, but Dave reminds me in looks of Bob Catley ere
Not the best rendition from Dave, didn't need the big band at all.

+Paul Gronemeier "Dave Edmunds is the definitive version of this song" John Lennon, 1971.
+Paul Gronemeier It is actually not his song originally. Smiley Lewis did it in the 50'
+Paul Gronemeier Status Quo have done a great Version of this song.

I value Dwight Yoakam's ranking of Dave's version as his favorite guitar song of all time.
douche nozzle... he nailed it better than anyone. He also does a shout out to Smiley Lewis about half way through.
