9 weeks no alcohol! I have fatty liver and I recently discovered that it can be reversed and ketogenic diet is excellent for this process . You are on the right way, and never ever dont you dare think you cant get sober again, IF you fall of the wagon!
Some people just make that mistake sometimes when trying to get fully off the poison, and I am struggling a lot too but the point is to keep your heart and mind open and try to be honest with yourself.
Life is , and always can be good and worth being 100% present with our loved ones and in what we do. I think a problemdrinker is living their life always with a half heart, and thats what I regret most for drinking over half of the time of my life this far...

Vodka was his drink of choice when you're drinking over a fifth every day for years it catches up. In the end, he had vanished I heard about him dying from a mutual friend and it shocked me. My liver enzymes were way off balance in my drinking days and i know how it feels to have the DTs that could have been what killed him? IDK if he had cirrhosis or not. I thank God im still alive i had so many blackouts but id like to give you some hope that I've found. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave. If you truly believe in that God saves you. You don't have to change your life only believe in What Jesus did for you he loves you and will save anybody who believes all he requires is your trust in his blood for your sins faith plus nothing and it gets better once you accept this amazing gift you can never lose your salvation. God bless I hope and pray your body recovers and wish you luck if you're trying to stop drinking you can do it man!

Start taking vitamin supplements. When we drink we lose lots of necessary vitamins. Take Magnesium, Zinc, and vitamin D. Especially magnesium! I've been a drinker for a while and my GERD (acid reflux) has been a problem for me. Magnesium treats that issue it won't cure it but it helps amongst many other benefits. We alcoholics lose so much of this mineral over the years. Look into it, it may provide extra comfort!

Dry skin and reddening of the palms of your hands. Confusion and headaches because of the build up of toxins. Also general pains in the back and horrible nausea sick feeling. Itching of the skin and really itchy feet also burning feet which is very strange and troubling. Problems sleeping through headaches and general lethargy. All in all a horrible feeling of being generally unwell. Am suffering from all these symptoms at the moment and ave not drank for 7 months. 2 months into research about my liver and I'm totally convinced I have liver damage. Malnutrition, alcohol poisoning, dehydration, you name it really.. I had no clue my liver was taking the brunt of all of this and more. Thank you for people like this trying to help the uninformed like me.. all the research on health I've done over the last 4 years or so.. and I wish I started with my liver..
The only good advice I have is 1 table spoon of organic apple cider vinegar, 2 oz of lemon juice (squeezed) in 16oz of water.. this will help your liver recover from damage as well as equal out free radicals in the liver. God bless I hope this helps.

We all have that relative or neighbor who drank swimming pool amounts of beer and liquor every single day and are continuing to live happily hungover and functional. Had hives all the time, hemorrhoids, water retention
Took over a year & half to drop it all away

If you get to this stage, you need to make a choice, either give up, cut down, or choose to die from liver failure.

It feels like my liver is a bit swollen, excerting pressure bellow my ribcage. Now I'm afraid that this could be alcoholic hepatitis or gall bladder stones. Could I develop these serious illnesses from only 4 months of heavy drinking? A lot of the days even resulted in blackouts, and I usually drink cocktails or hard liquor. Thanks for the advise.

    • @HabitsV2
      @HabitsV2  4 місяці тому

It's all bad. Where the alcohol flows, the damage goes. We're not designed to put this poison into our bodies.... Once you understand that fact, it's just a question of how much damage are you willing to take on board before you do something about it?

Unfortunately, it's a viscious circle. I found the same. When you drink, you narrow your choices. You're drinking to cope with loneliness and depression, boredom and life suck... alcohol causes or contributes to all of these... You drink to dampen these emotions but then put yourself in a position where you're capacity to resolve these things becomes diminished... and downwards the spiral goes... Most people in your situation don't want to stop drinking because the life they've built is now staring them in the face, but that's the only place you can deal with it...

It's a journey of purpose if that's the way you live it. I love that way of thinking. I can't think any other way. I think that's the main thing that harms us as drinkers, the purpose left unfulfilled... Best of luck with things.

Those one or 2 day breaks are really good for him. So youre saying about 60-75 beers a week as a 60 yr old man.
Im gonna assume your estimates are higher than what he's actually drinking (based on your concern for him)
Those 15 beers a night, I'm gonna count as 10 avg. And the almost everyday drinking, I'm gonna estimate 4 nights a week.
40 beers isn't bad. I'm guessing he's not aggressive cuz of your affinity for him

I'm 27, pretty fit and seemingly very healthy but as far as I'm concerned I've had a bad relationship with alcohol for most of my adult and young adult life. It's difficult to know if I'm just a worrier and looking for signs where I might actually be fine or if I have really done some real damage. Speaking to friends about my drinking patterns they recognise some of it is unhealthy, especially how much I've boozed alone, but for the most part they seem to think it's fairly normal for someone in their twenties. I see some yellows in my eyes though and some if not most of the things you've mentioned are familiar experiences. I wish I could continue drinking steadily with friends but I'm a binger and I find it very hard to resist when I'm already on it, often taking a strong drink to bed with me when others managed to know when they'd had enough a while before. Could I have damaged my liver already at 27? Or is it quite resilient?

Someone died at 21 from this. I knew someone who was 30 and died from this. Age has very little to do with it. In short, yes , at 27 it is possible to have liver damange. Stop drinking. See a doc

You seem like me back then. It doesn't matter what your friends think or do, you know very well it's bad.
You are not gonne learn how to drink responsible, you probably have like 10 years of drinking experience to back this claim up like me. Being in you 20's is no excuse to poisen yourself, life is so much better on the other side.

Think I understand you! I'll try and reply, yes a person can suffer from arrhythmia (chest vibration), as a side effect of liver, or kidney damage. But arrhythmia can be caused by many other unrelated factors. But if you're concerned, see your doctor :)
