This video is a review of renting a Tesla Model 3 from Hertz for driving Uber. The reviewer shares their experience, including the benefits of lower fuel costs and an extra $1 per ride from Uber for driving an electric vehicle. They also mention getting better tips and enjoying the car's acceleration. However, they note the inconvenience of having to charge the car, which can take around 30 minutes. Despite this, they prefer renting the Tesla over a gas vehicle due to its profitability and nicer driving experience. They paid $665 for the rental and made a significant profit. Overall, the reviewer recommends renting a Tesla from Hertz for driving Uber, especially for those who plan to complete a high number of rides.
Hi, I’m looking to rent a Tesla did you have to pay the deposit also and also what other card will they take if you don’t have a major credit card? Thanks for sharing
I had to use the public super chargers. Wasn’t an issue in Phoenix, AZ. The cost of charging was billed directly to Hertz and included in my final bill.
you're basically slaving for 5 days straight 10 to 12 hours a day to pay the rental and the hidden fees ( charging that cna go from 15 to 20$ a day + washing the car every 2-3 days ) and you have 2 days left to make the rental reasonable , done that and i'm never ever putting myself in that situation
Fair assessment. It worked out for me because I needed the car, got to drive a Tesla for a couple of weeks to see how I liked it, and made some extra cash.
Made about $1800 gross for the week driving an average of 6 hours a day. Rental plus charging cost about $600. Net profit of about $1200 for the week in Phoenix AZ.
I don't see how you can make $1800 doing 6 hours a day. Because a Tesla can only do Uber X, Comfort and green and these 3 options pay basically the same. On average you can do a maximum of 3 trips per hour if doing shorter trips.Getting an extra dollar per trip is irrelevant. I just don't see how you can get to $1800 if only driving 6 hours a day. Is it possible that in your city you guys still have Surge bonuses? Because I would like to think that is the only way.
@@ryanhablitzelYou forget the time to charge. If it takes 1/2 hour and you make on avg $30, you’ll have to add $15 to the cost of that one charge. Walking around sounds great, but it really is working time.
Why not just buy one that's what I did I can charge at home it's a lot cheaper on average it's about $50 a month a lot less maintenance but if you do get one get a long range because the short range I had that for Uber and I spent two times a day at the supercharger the long range I can go all day and charge it at night time sometimes I might put a little bit in it at the supercharger if I feel like I might have want to keep going a little bit more other than that my model 3 I love it perfect for doing Uber
I actually purchased a Lexus Hybrid I drive full time. I only rented the Tesla while the Lexus was the shop. It was convenient since I needed a rental anyway.
I fully own my 2016 Toyota Corolla with only 85k miles that I only drive for part time for Uber. Guess what? I don’t have any kind of car payment on that. If I rented a Tesla, I am sure that my weekly payments would be like I’m paying for a car payment again. It would be high enough that it would also include that car payment plus gas. I rather keep my fully paid Corolla that I only do part time driving for Uber. If I rented, I would have to slave away just to make the weekly payments. NO THANKS.
That makes sense to use your Corolla instead of a rental. It will be more profitable for sure! I used the Tesla rental while my main car was in the shop so that I could keep my side hustle cash flow still going while my car was in the shop.
@@ryanhablitzel I don’t drive the Corolla full time anymore. Ultra part time after a new job opportunity. Forgot to mention that too. As Uber isn’t my primarily income I find myself only doing it on some morning rush hours and some weekend evenings. You know I must say however… Tesla’s are very nice. I would want a Tesla model S one day.
Someone love tapped the door of the Lexus and it had to go off to the body shop for repairs. I tested out the Tesla while the Lexus was being repaired.
Nice video. Also you should consider runflat tires 🛞 they are quite expensive and not everything you can install on a Tesla vehicles cause these are heavier. If you get a nail or something, instead of a quick repair, you would have to buy a new one, wait for a new one, not every tire store has them in stock , and mostly they are not repairable

They didn’t take a deposit with me. I used a debit card.
Do they give you a charger so you can charge at home or do you have to use the public super chargers?

Maybe you have no kids, living in your parents basement, out of school and playing video games all day 😂 stfu if you don’t have something nice to say.
Ryan, we need numbers bro. How much did you make and how much did you spend on rental and charging and what was your net?

@@alcontv4133you obviously never drove for Uber before

You know theres gonna be a lot of kids doing pranks on electric cars while they charging lol by unplugging them
The charger locks in place 🔌
334 a week though, so if you make 100 a day, thats 3 days of work just to pay for the car.
That’s correct
If you’re making 100 a day u shouldn’t B looking at a rental lol
Ryan, Hertz will cut off Tesla models and all EVs from its fleet due to the high cost to fix those vehicles when they break down.
Interesting. Those teslas get some use at Hertz, but sometime people are afraid to rent them because they are different
When I rent a Tesla by hertz it has hotspot ( wi fi to use internet) ?
I don’t think mine did. Or at least I never knew about that feature if it did have it.

Y’all. Do realize not every has the money or credit to buy a tesla
Everybody can’t just “buy one”
How do you set up your phone for navigation? Other cars I used a vent phone holder. Do you use the Tesla navigation?
I couldn’t get the Tesla Navigation to connect.

the dumbest thing you can do, fast way to lose your ass!
Possibly, but it worked out for me when I needed a car and some extra cash.
Whay happened to lexus
Someone love tapped the door of the Lexus and it had to go off to the body shop for repairs. I tested out the Tesla while the Lexus was being repaired.
Hell no. You rent that tesla your already starting negative 100%
I made better money renting the Tesla over other cars in my area. People tip better when picked up in the Tesla too.
Not worth it! Uber barely pay nowadays. Not worth it
Drivers have definitely taken a pay cut! I did well in the Phoenix, AZ area, but make next to nothing in Tampa, FL
Don’t do it. The rental fees are too high and you’ll miss rides while waiting 30 minutes to charge.
I enjoyed the Tesla for a week
You’re extremely dumb as 25 minutes charge gives you 300 miles and well enough for a full day of work
yeah ok bert, you didnt charge to much. 10 dollars dont get you much of a charge. your a bot
🥸
HOW MUCH DID YOU MAKE ???
About $1800 gross or the week. $1350 net after the cost of the rental and charging.
How many hrs a day did you do? And are you city based?@@ryanhablitzel
I was doing about 6 hours day 7 days a week. Based in Phoenix.

Never heard of runflat tires before
