      Is the universe a simulation? are we brains in a vat??? are other people self aware??? Is this the dream of a butterfly?? all of these questions presuppose that a clear distinction exist between real and not real. if the universe is a simulation than it is modeled on the real thing or the real thing might be so radically different that it would be unintelligible to us, are we not real? we would still be real as real as Pain from Naruto. suppose that the universe is some kind of disc CD and it just floats in the dark abyss of nothingness and that is a true and ultimate fact, well then Real =/= Simulation, a magical disc from were we stand, that is so out there. In a dream you are the whole dream, interesting, so I guess in the world each of us are like pieces of a puzzle, the puzzle may change over time as people are born and die yet nothing is ever truly lost, the universe didn't gain anymore mass or lose any significant mass it just rearranges it's parts. also can a thing be a member of itself, can an animal be classified as an animal or a, self referential systems statements or systems of logic. example :" I am lying to you" = True or False??? if it is true than than I am telling the truth and if I am telling the truth than it is a lie, self referential statements, no system of logic can remain consistent while referring to itself, what applies : Minds, Universes, Dreams, Logical statements, basic foundation of everything, to explain something you have to explain it from a frame of reference that contains the thing otherwise the thing is unexplained like the magical CD that simulates our universe aka an axiomatic breaking point.

    You can go even deeper with presupposition when talking to people. Like. You’re assuming when you’re talking to someone new that the manner that you speak or your morality or ideals or your demeanor goes along with their own presupposition of what is “acceptable”. That’s what really determines whether or not you’re gonna be liked by that person. It’s a wild card when meeting someone new. Either you have similar presuppositions and get along, or your presuppositions are completely different and you don’t get along.

    • @kevinman8585
      @kevinman8585 5 років тому +4

      naturalguy4 Fine. That’s a bit of fault of mine in wording it, but my point was simply to add on to the topic of presupposition, not make any ground-breaking next gen claim to make myself seem smart. People instinctively understand this, I’m just putting it into words at this point.

    I have one comment regarding the Kol and speed of light in one piece
    To be honest it's not a problem in the serie but a problem with king himself
    You can see him deny many characters from many verses to be LS or FTL (did that to Naruto,Bleach ,DBZ ,One piece )
    To him it's hard to accept that a fictional character can achieve something unachievable in the human world

    In the king of lightning debate is very evident that he spent most of his time arguing skepticism to the claims without actually providing a rebuttal as to why his skepticism had any validity. What was more interesting was how he stated that there wasn't definitive proof hat is speed of light claim. Yet isn't that what the debate was all about. In short can you let me spend majority of the debate of avoid arguing anything you actually stated.
    Good essay btw

    • @joyboy2413
      @joyboy2413 3 роки тому

      Yeah exactly, skepticism is good but only when it's grounded in proper logical observation analysis, simply being skeptical for the sake of being skeptical just adds in more unnecessary assumptions, so because of Occam's Razor it becomes your burden to provide proper evidence to show why your assertive skepticism is valid and if you can't Occam's Razor will just shave away your skeptical preposition.

    this whole video strikes me as a textbook definition shifting the burden of proof fallacy. you're saying that you ASSUME X, and if I do not believe that X then I am required to prove ~X, otherwise, your initial assumption is rational to accept. I'll demonstrate the absurdity with an example: I presuppose that there is an invisible monkey on mars, if you disagree, you have to EITHER 1-Prove that that monkey doesn't exist OR 2- irrationally reject my assumption.

    • @TKA-s7
      @TKA-s7 3 роки тому

      I think u misunderstood this video. What seth is trying to say is that when there is a basic presupposition which is generally assumed, and someone opposes this generally assumed presupposition, it is their responsibility to give reason as to why the contrary could be the case. Lets say for example we are having a debate abt two fictional characters. Character A and character B. Character A got blitzed by character B, and the basic assumption is that character a is going all out since its a fight, however, u asked me to prove that he is going all out. Since there is no reason to believe that he was holding back, and it was a fight, it is more likely for him to go all out than to hold back, this is a basic assumption. It would be YOUR burden to prove or give reason to why he could be holding back, since ur opposing this basic assumption which is already more likely. Thats not a burden of proof fallacy chief

    • @joyboy2413
      @joyboy2413 3 роки тому
