    Hello, you recommend me for a wind of 14 to 17 knots, an XPS 5.3 or 6.1, my weight is 105 kg and I have a 90 liter board with a foil lift 170

    I've got 6,5,4,3 strike v2 and 80kg, I'm guessing 6.1,4.6,3.5 would suffice? How does the relative power strike to xps compare 6m cwc to 6.1 xps? 4.5 strike to 4.6 xps? Mike

    look's good product again,
    riding the 5.5 v2 for more than one year from 15 to 25 kts and very happy from it,lot of hours on the water.
    the question is what's the right size of the xps new model to get the same amount of power than the v2.
    looking for the smallest span and handling has possible.
    xps 5.3?
    xps 4.6?

    When you say it will flip over sometimes... Is it a wing that can be trusted when you are being carried with the set on your head? or will flip right away as duotone unit v3? thanks

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Рік тому

      Ha ha. Yeah I had that same experience with the v3 unit and strike. Flip right over to handles up with the lightest puff. Both luff well but they flip to handles up super easy. The best wing we have tested that doesn’t flip over is the 2022 north nova. The xps has a good blend of staying out on the handles to performance and does better than most in this regard.

    Hi Matt, trying to decide between the 4.6 and 5.3, I'm 144, intermediate, currently riding either Armstrong 1250 in 15knts on up and 1550 in light conditions, ride a 67 liter in most conditions but also a 54 liter in windy conditions.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Рік тому

      At your size I would say that the 4.6m will work for that 12-22 range with those two foils and boards. Really depends on wind speed you want to target and your ability to pump up in light conditions. If you wanted to focus on the lighter range then 5.3m but I think that 4.6m will be best all around for you.
      For reference, I’m 170 lbs on a 50 L board and am riding the 5.3m in 12-18 mph of wind in this video.

    Great review. What is your leash setup for the wing and board?

    • @REALmattnuzzo

      I use the Armstrong Ultimate Wing Leash for the wing and the Kaohi double foil coil 6’ leash for the board.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Рік тому +1

      Both great wings. I prefer the XPS as it is lighter and luffs better. Nova has a little more low end grunt per size.

  • @genki007
    @genki007 Рік тому +1

    Thank you, for the review Matt. I am wondering if I should wait for the release of the A Wing XPS instead of buying the F One V3? Have you ridden the F One? If so, curious to know your thoughts on both. I am primarily riding waves on Oahu.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Рік тому

      Thanks for the message. There is a lot of personal preference in wings but here is what we have found out. New Fonev3 is a great wing. It has had small improvements in the a stiffer but not hard handle and stability on a wave. It is a very balanced wing and super fun to ride. Definitely a top contender in the market.
      In our opinion the XPS felt more exciting, has more wind range, luffed out as well on a wave and the handles are way better. It should hold its shape and power for longer due to the XPS design. With the XPS you get more straight line performance too. Better upwind and board speed on the XPS.
      You can’t go wrong with either wing as they are both great.

    super cool wing, but what the wing span on a 5,3 and 4,6. looks very big!?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Рік тому +1

      It’s actually quite compact and per size they are so nimble that they don’t feel hard to handle. Not sure of the span on those sizes but the 6.1m is 130” which is about 30” less than the A Wing v2 6.5m

    • @REALmattnuzzo

      Ability, weight, board and foil can change that drastically. I’m 170 lbs, ride a 50 L board, and the MA1000 or 1225 mostly. I use the 4.6m in the 15-25mph range. Have ridden it as low as 10mph on the downwind board and up to 30 on the ma800.

      It’s pretty hard to post wind range as there are so many variable. Let us know the following…
      What size wing? What’s your ability? What is your weight? What size board and foil?
      I am 170 lbs and have ridden the 5.3m in as low as 8 mph with the down wind board and ma1750 and as high as 30mph with the 50 L and MA 800. Sweet spot on the 5.3m XPS wing for me with 50 L board and MA1225 is 13-20MPH.

      @@REALmattnuzzo thanks a lot, Matt! Looking at the 4.6 to start with. And probably a 3.5 for nuking days and a 6.1 for the lighter days. I weigh 180lbs and use the 39L FG as my main board. I can get that going with a 5.5 Strike V2 and 925 with 795 mast in about 17kts. I’m intermediate-jumping has been all the focus lately. My go-to setup has been the 800/205 with 795 or 935 for conditions 20kts+

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Рік тому

      Yeah that sizing spread will be the right one for you. Thanks for the run down. I would say if you are riding those smaller foils, the 4.6m will work best in the 17-25mph range. 6.1m will be 12-20 and you can get lower if you use a bigger board and or foils. 3.5m 25 mph +.
      These wings have a lot of pop and balance for jumping. Really easy to control and the hard hybrid handles give you a direct feel with out crushing your hands.
