to see the wing bringing slightly overhead within the flow of bringing board up - backfoot forward etc was of great help. My bringing overhead so far is much to isolated from the whole procedure, I will train this fully integrated switch next sessions !! Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks !!

Great Vid. Thank you!! I can tack and gybe but I’m really struggling with the on mast foot swap. Have to do a tiny touch down still each time. Looking forward to trying this tip next time we get wind here in the UK. Looking forced to your next instalments 🙌🙏🤙🏽

      @@LachieWhite Dude!!!
You’re some sort of teaching God!
I’ve been trying to foot swap for a year! I can gybe, tack, and surf, but just couldn’t nail foot swaps.
After watching your Vid on Insta then the full one on YT 3 days ago, I went out and tried them today. Made the first 4 in a row!! Your tip was a total game changer. I never heard that tip from anybody else, but it all makes sense now. 💡💥
Cheers Dude! Saved my summer here in Ireland and the UK. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Hi Lachie, did you hear it clicking for me??? Really loud and right across from the Baltic Sea! I‘m sure „back hand down“ will do the trick for me. The proof is on the pond - tomorrow. I‘ll let you know. Thank you so much for emphasizing the weight thing!

Great stuff! Could you do a video with examples of take offs in light wind?

Thanks! I’ll add it to the list. Will dig through my footage and try to find some light wind take offs!

Nice video! Do you never ride switch feet for longer as just for initiating the turns? Is there any need for perfectioning the switch riding if the switching of feet is as good as yours?

    • @LachieWhite
      @LachieWhite  4 місяці тому +1

I have just started to work on my switch riding a bit more as I think it will help in tricky situations in waves. Outside of that, I haven’t found any need for it other than initiating turns.
You definitely want some confidence to help with riding through turns but I haven’t needed anywhere close to the same level of confidence as regular riding.
      Thanks for the comment!

Looks faster than the concept of bringing the nose down and using the up moment for the switch. Toeside Gybes for a faster and more curvy turn? For the tacks I prefer heelside tack with foot switch afterwards. So many possibilities 😂

Yep, I still use the nose up movement in some situations but agreed this way is smoother.
Classic 😂 that’s why I always try to add that “this is the way I like to do it” because everyone has different ideas

Just curious… what is your next wing size down from your v2 strike 5.5m? I’m looking for something to fill the gap between my v2 strike 5.5m and v1 strike 3.5m.
I started with v1 5m and 3.5m Strikes, then got an 8m CWC. Next I purchased a v2 5.5m cuz I felt I needed a little more than the 5m on certain days. Now my v1 5m has a slow leak and it’s pretty beat up.
Maybe get a 4.5? Wanting something with low end, as I’ve had a couple of sessions on my 3.5m in which I was having to pump way too much to get up on foil.
Then, of course, there’s the question of which model to get now that f-one has 3….

I currently have the 5.5m strike v4 and the 4m origin. I would say the 3.5m and the 4m would have too much overlap so I think 4.5m is your best option.
In terms of wing, I’d probably stick with the strike wings if you like going fast as the trade off for something that flags out a little nicer isn’t worth it for my style of riding.
The way I see the line (again for my style of riding), origin is a great beginner/comfortable wing that would also be perfect for intermediate/advanced who want to wing upwind and SUP downwind. The swing is for those wanting the best surf performance and are happy to compromise on speed a little bit. The strike is the opposite, those who want to go fast and are happy to compromise on surf a little bit.
      Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply! I would say my number one goal is to surf Great Lakes wind swell and second goal is to have enough power to be able to get up without pumping too much. I guess I’m not the most efficient pumper and I just don’t want to endlessly tire myself out trying to get up on foil 😅
