To those who are confused by Otakemaru's soul saying "How I long to meet Suzuka again...", it ties into his real-life folklore. Otakemaru was in love with a goddess named Suzuka Gozen, who he repeatedly visited in the form of a handsome young man in order to win her love, only to be turned down time after time. Meanwhile, a shogun named Sakanoue Tamuramaro, who had been trying to find and kill Otakemaru for years, received a vision telling him to visit Suzuka, who in turn hatched a plan with him that ended with Otakemaru being defeated and beheaded by Tamuramaro. However, Otakemaru was immortal as long as he possessed any of his three holy swords, and Suzuka was unable to trick him into relinquishing all of them for her. After reviving and being defeated once more, Otakemaru was instead sealed away alongside Shuten Doji and Tamamo-no-Mae within the Byodo-In temple, only to escape many years later when the turbulent war across Japan weakened his seal. Note that Suzuka is referred to as a "former female bandit" in the weapon description for the Sohaya Tsurugi sword in-game, so I don't know if the Nioh 2 writers have changed the tale somewhat.

Yea i think they stayed pretty faithful lmao.
So, what do we have: - Nioh 2 and Nioh 1 covers both timelines before and after William's arrival in Japan (including all 3 DLC) - Maria is finally caught, which means 100% end of the story - William and Okatsu got a kid - Hideyoshi followed the same way, as Nobunaga once did - departed to the afterlife - Future of our main character will stay uncovered
Phenomenal ending. Our old boy William getting a true happily ever after would have been enough for me, but they went above and beyond the story of the first game (which was one of its weakness) imo

Otakemaru shits all over Orochi and Hundred eyes from the first game in terms of quality and probably even Tamamo no Mae from Bloodsheds end. Can't wait to see what the DLC will bring, if this is any indication.

I've always liked final bosses that don't say a word while you fight them, no taunts, no speeches, no calling out attacks, just fighting. Words don't serve much purpose during a duel to the death anyway and most anime-like stories go way overboard on dialogue.
Ok the ending feels emotional, but the fight it seems like if it were just another boss...I remember in Nioh 1 we had to fight with previous monsters, then oda, then the bald wizard and then yamata no orochi...o and after that, the one thousand eyes. aaand after that...dlcs, and everythig the real ending with Lady chacha ( one of my favorites alongside with Yukimura, what a characters! )
Just finished Nioh 2 and I feel you. The ending of Nioh 1 felt more spectacular with all the bosses you had to fight back to back. Even the levels itself during the endgame were insane.

@@songoku9348 well yeah, when i played the demo i thought Nioh 2 is harder because i didn't know the new Parry and Youkai abilities mechanic. but once we learned them in the final game and you know how to do it, the game is way easier, because we no longer have a limitation to just dodge and block the youkai bosses, now we can parry and drain their stamina waaaay faster with new youkai abilities.

I'm not sure if this helps but I'm fairly certain the visions are maybe clues to the story of the dlc, Tokichiro probably had the time to come to peace with what he did with help of our character, and I think Mumyo doesn't age because she is still wearing the pendant of sohayamru.

If they want to go with gods, Yama (king of Hell) is a good one. Historical people Taira No Masakado, Minamoto No Yoshitsune, or Abe no Seimei could be interesting pick as antagonists. Um other then that Tsuchigumo (considered a great disaster) could be a good contender also (at least as a yokai boss).

Yep. Based on the real life William Adam's Son, Joseph (Its even his name if you do a sidequest on the final map) he also had a daughter named Susanna, but I bet we'll see her in Nioh 3.

But remember guardian spirits are almost like living beings....they can multiply and have babies...so posibly william's son was born already with okatsu's guardian spirit in it.

now the first dlc is out, we can see the cutscene from 5:30 is really showing us the dlc characters. but the 3rd one (the one wearing the red armor) look the same as our character though.

absupinhere lot more to nioh then dark souls it’s like a mix of dark souls style with loot and grind of Diablo so lots of stats plus a few special abilities
Green is healing, Red is fire damage etc
Nioh is not even near like Dark souls.
How underrated kf a game it is probbably bcs of sudden difficulty lvl at first optional boss. Took me 2 years almost since ive bought the game to play it properly and complete it

Any idea who could be the villain/antagonist of the DLC cause only Izanami (Goddess of death and creation) comes to my mind.
If they want to go with gods, Yama (king of Hell) is a good one. Historical people Taira No Masakado, Minamoto No Yoshitsune, or Abe no Seimei could be interesting pick as antagonists. Um other then that Tsuchigumo (considered a great disaster) could be a good contender also (at least as a yokai boss).

So I’m a little confused on the visions here the first one tied to the first dlc and the second visions tied to the second dlc but the third vision I’m confused how’s does that tied to the last dlc even though we never saw that same cutscene again in the first samurai.
I think 3rd cutscene we didn't see because we ARE the person of the vison, just different armor and a bit of different placing

Sort of. It works well on some enemies and bosses, other enemies and bosses it just won't work at all or last for a couple seconds.

Yep. Based on the real life William Adam's Son, Joseph (Its even his name if you do a sidequest on the final map) he also had a daughter named Susanna, but I bet we'll see her in Nioh 3.

Each scene is a dlc for the game. Each person in those cutscenes is the wielder of the sword in diferent times. Pretty good lore imo

Obida Hasdia i am really liking it so far. Combat has a nice fluidity and fairness to it. I think its definitely worth the buy. You get used to the designs over time
