I can say the upgrade from the 2 to the 4 is pretty amazing... we kept the mini 2 because it's still our first love but the mini 4 pro is definitely growing on us... lol welcome back, brother!!!
Yeah mate you would see a huge difference, plus the controller is so much easier. Good call keeping the Mini 2 - it's the one that started many people's love of drone flying! Thanks mate - great to hear from you!
I have the mini 1 and are thinking of upgrading. Based on your video the 3pro should be good enough, especially since you can get a used one for less than half of the price of a 4pro. Do you agree?
Did a lot of research on the different versions as my neighbor had a mini3pro and the mini4pro was already out. Decided to chance it and go with the mini4pro. I've had it for a few weeks now and am completely happy with the camera, the safety features, and all the specialty shots. Thanks for your honest opinion. I like hearing about the newer drones, as now I'm in the field. Can you review the batteries, like you did for the mini2? Would love to watch that! Take care!😊
I have a Mini 2 and have no interest in either the Mini 3 or 4. I've had a Mini 3 Pro but sold it, many of its "features" simply didn't work, Spotlight kept losing the selected subject, same with tracking. As for Obstacle Avoidance, as a safety measure it plain just doesn't work at all in low light and can't see wires or twigs in daylight. Absolutely hopeless. If I ever buy another drone it'll be a used Air 3 (for the longer lens) in a year or two depending on what happens with the upcoming changes to UK drone regulations.
Yeah not a bad plan, I've often thought of the Air series, very capable drones and not huge (compared to the Mavics), so yeah, could be a good idea mate! Hope you are well - thanks for tuning in and commenting!
Battery life is definitely more, however the Mini 2 is already pretty good mate, but going from the Mini 2 to the Mini 4 Pro you would definitely see a difference, also the controller is so much easier to set up and use.
great comparison, im in a different boat, i have the mavic air 2 and want a lighter drone to take with me on holidays and have no restrictions. ive just bought the mini 4 pro.. havent received it yet so now im questioning wether i should have saved some cash and get the mini 3 pro which was what i was thinking esecially as i havent opted for the rc2 remote. any thoughts?
Believe it or not but I still love my good old Mini 2. It keeps me alert and focus on my surroundings and the video quality is still very good. But one day....w'll see.
The 2 main reasons I went from the Mini 3 Pro to the Mini 4 Pro were the Mini 3 Pro's signal strength was awful, regularly seeing complete drops at 300m with clear LOS. If you could fly through it, you could get considerably further. Mini 4 Pro does not suffer that - I think the aircraft's antenna positioning is better, along with the benefits of O4 - I am in a CE area, generally the most restricted for output power. The 2nd reason was the DJI RC was just so laggy all the time, and seemingly getting worse with each firmware. The DJI RC2 is much better in this regard, with no frustrations of clicking on the screen, and then waiting and wondering if it had taken the command.
That's interesting mate, thanks for sharing your experience! I think you're right about the signal with regard to the Mini 4 Pro, the extra antenna (internal and now external), combined with the RC2 would make a massive difference. Good insights - thanks mate 👍😊
Still got my Mini 2, also the Mini 3 Pro and now the Mini 4 Pro which to me, is a big change to the 4 Pro. Made some great points Mike and now with Dronelink allowing Waypoints on the Mini 3 Pro, you don't need to upgrade for the moment till the next new mini drone arrives.
I'm sticking with M3P but just got the air 3 on the way due to better wind resistance main use is for hiking/mountain biking so better wind resistance is gunna be an upgrade for me
If your budget can stretch to it then I would go to the Mini 4 Pro - not sure if you have seen the video, that's what I say in there but I also outline all the reasons - hopefully it will help you make your mind up 👍
Sure i would love the Mini 4 Pro, but as a hobby flyer i will just be spending more money in reality. Having the Mini 2 and the 2SE, i have so many accessories like props, batteries etc that are interchangeable. I agree with the points you have made however Mike. 👍
Great reasons why you should or shouldn't upgrade, if I win lotto (yeah right!) I would upgrade to the mini 3 Pro for the simple reasons of connection dropping out on my wireless with the Mini 2 SE and as you stated its a real bugger connecting your phone all the time and having to deal with wires etc. The all in one controller would be neat, one can only dream.
Yeah mate it's definitely a bit of a game changer that controller - makes you want to take the drone out more as there is less faffing around. Fingers crossed on the Lotto win mate!! 🤞
I have the Mini 3 Pro with the RCN1 and im happy with it but if i could afford to get the Dji mini 4 pro , I definitely would. Now i have the knowledge not to crash my mini 3 pro i still would feel a lot more confident with the sideways obstacle avoidence.. especially for tracking mode
Goid video with loads of good info. As a flyer using Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro I would say the difference is not big enough to switch to switch from 3 to 4. Check my last video I done a shootout between 3 & 4 yesterday to see if viewers can tell the difference. You have a new subscriber
So the real reason why you left NZ comes out, no visual sight of drone during range test. You DID get a knock on the door by the drone police didnt you. With the way things are, all good points. And having the latest & greatest isnt important unless you are a highend users. But then, you wouldnt have a mini. Just stick to the fun factor. Keep up the great work 👍
wtf meant to be a comparison between the Mini 3 Pro vs Mini 4 Pro... instead he constantly compares to the Mini 2 Pro for the whole video... like wtf dude?
Agree with all your observations Mike and I'm sticking with my Mini 3 Pro, especially as I grabbed myself an Air 3. It's a beast.
Thanks mate I appreciate that! You enjoying the Air 3 then?
I can say the upgrade from the 2 to the 4 is pretty amazing... we kept the mini 2 because it's still our first love but the mini 4 pro is definitely growing on us... lol welcome back, brother!!!

Yeah it's kinda pointless to fly the 2 once you have a 3 or 4 pro its just better in every way.
At least the Autel nano is different enough
I have the mini 1 and are thinking of upgrading. Based on your video the 3pro should be good enough, especially since you can get a used one for less than half of the price of a 4pro. Do you agree?

Your loss.
don't let the dumb rules stop you from enjoying better models.
Mini 3 pro features work just fine for me
What about battery life?
I have a Mini 2 and am going on a big trip next year and so thinking about an upgrade. I’m eyeing up the Mini 4.
Battery life is definitely more, however the Mini 2 is already pretty good mate, but going from the Mini 2 to the Mini 4 Pro you would definitely see a difference, also the controller is so much easier to set up and use.
You can get a custom 3800mah battery for mini 2- it'll get like 34 mins on it
Good video. Just one question, is rc of mini 3 pro has 6 antenna like rc2 ?
great comparison, im in a different boat, i have the mavic air 2 and want a lighter drone to take with me on holidays and have no restrictions. ive just bought the mini 4 pro.. havent received it yet so now im questioning wether i should have saved some cash and get the mini 3 pro which was what i was thinking esecially as i havent opted for the rc2 remote. any thoughts?
Believe it or not but I still love my good old Mini 2. It keeps me alert and focus on my surroundings and the video quality is still very good. But one day....w'll see.
You're not wrong mate, it's a very very good piece of kit and produces some very very good results!

Yeah the RC1 kinda sucks very slow

Nice summary and great advice - thanks mate!
I'm sticking with M3P but just got the air 3 on the way due to better wind resistance main use is for hiking/mountain biking so better wind resistance is gunna be an upgrade for me
Yeah good call - are you enjoying the Air 3?
Great video
Thanks for sharing what the difference is between mini 3 pro and mini 4.
Hey @lynettezimmerling9891 you're very welcome! Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to comment! 🙏👍
I was about to upgrade to the Mini4 Pr but after watching you review Mike I will stick with my Mini 3 pro as like you I really don't see the point.
Good call mate! Hey thanks for watching. I really appreciate your support! 🙏
Own the mini 2se should I upgrade to the 4pro or 3pro?
If your budget can stretch to it then I would go to the Mini 4 Pro - not sure if you have seen the video, that's what I say in there but I also outline all the reasons - hopefully it will help you make your mind up 👍
Won’t buy anything in the USA right now
Fair enough too mate!
Cheers for nice and useful video ✌🏻
Thanks @3style.4life, I appreciate that! 😊
Still have the Mavic Mini... but I'd go for the Mini 4 Pro for future-proofing alone.
Good call - do it ! 😆
Sure i would love the Mini 4 Pro, but as a hobby flyer i will just be spending more money in reality. Having the Mini 2 and the 2SE, i have so many accessories like props, batteries etc that are interchangeable. I agree with the points you have made however Mike. 👍
Yes that's true mate, it never ends, sometimes we just have to appreciate what we have!

.... its not hard to connect with RC N1
Sometimes I wish I could have waited four more months and I would have got it for the same price
Excellent video!

Thanks @eyeintheskydrone4k, I appreciate that! 😊 I will check out your video - cheers!
the 4 is worth it if you are filming yourself in close quarters
Good call
