Doug, you have a unique talent that fills a niche. The guests you have on the show are okay for garage videos (lists or trends) but they hurt your reviews
I suspect most subscribers are harsh on Keenan because he doesn't bring anything new to the review. I think if he had his own segment of maybe background info of the engineering or design cues it would be a better value add. We like to watch Doug do the Quirks and Features, that's why we're here! That said, I am secretly hoping for a video soon where Doug trashes the car, it has been a while since we've had a review like the Corolla and Ghibli.
I thought this was the greatest luxury sedan in the world when it came out, this design really has a place in my heart. The total aluminum spaceframe body construction made the A8 1,000 lbs lighter than the Phaeton and the Bentleys. I've driven W12 Phaetons and the power pushes you back in the seat, but in a 1,000 lbs-lighter car, I'll bet it is deceptively fast. But still designed to do it without drama, as you said.
I don't know if I'm the only one but my mind is blown, knowing this amount of luxury was around in 2005! Really cool interior. If Audi made reliable motors, this would be a very very sweet road trip car.
@@JustinsGarage i agree. i think a podcast with doug, kennan, and hoovie would be AWESOME! they all have 3 different views on cars and i think a podcast with 3 people with different takes would be amazing.

Finally, a D3 A8 review. How has it taken so long? So many UA-camrs have a total blindspot for the D3 A8 and are surprised how great a car it actually is when they realize they exist.
Doug the kind of guy to shoehorn his friend into a presenting role so that he can float off on a raft made of hundred dollar bills and live it up on a beach for the rest of his life. Good for you Doug, success well earned.
@@memes4themasses365 I thought it was clearly a jokey way of making a serious point - Doug has made it and can now reap the rewards of his hard work. P.S - A raft made of money would sink.
He's not hijacking the channel, he's groomed by Doug to become his successor. Doug has become a multimillionaire thanks to the C&B sale, he probably wants to do other things with his time
‘Dougs the kind of guy’ who doesn’t care what you think, like have you seen how he dresses lol You aren’t responsible for Dougs success, he is, he doesn’t owe you anything, you don’t like it leave, very simple, no personal offence, just leave no body cares Also I cringed very hard using ‘kind of guy’ like it’s 2017
I really love Audis. Got my start with an A6 and just fell in love with the way they drive. On my second one, now, and approaching 180,000 miles. No nightmare stories to report, and I'm still just as happy with it every time I see it, and every time I have a reason to drive it somewhere. And, for me, that's especially nice. My round-trip commute is about 150 miles. It would be torture in a car I didn't like...
@@Noldoo.4 I was a little vague in my original post. I meant that I'm on my second Audi, but not my second A6. My current one is a 2009 A5 S-line. I mention the S-line part because that came along with a better suspension than the standard A5. It has the 3.2 NA V6, and a 6-speed manual transmission.
I enjoyed the video. I agree it is different from his usual style, but that’s not a bad thing. As a one off, it is fine. Kennan seems to know his stuff and is a good presenter. I don’t think a guest presenter should be a super regular thing, but the review was decent and I would also watch Kennan’s videos if he made them.
The moment you realize Doug slowly introducing Kennan to us, so he can take over this channel, like a dog owner who can’t take care of his dog anymore slowly introducing him to his new owner
@@Peachsnapple75 realistically it’s the only reason that Doug would continue putting him in these videos. He has to know we don’t like it, and I do think he is overestimating the amount of people that will continue to watch these videos when he’s not in them. I understand that he now has so much money that he would really probably be willing to take a huge revenue cut on this channel, but I think when these videos start making less than $1000 a pop he might reconsider coming out of retirement.
The first A8 was very respected in Europe. Obviously not as popular as the S-Class or 7-series at the time, but people as well the press were praising Audi for this attempt of entering the luxury market with the first A8 model. The S8 model from the first A8 generation was also featured in the movie called "Ronin" starring Robert Deniro with its iconic car chase. That was the first big product placement from Audi, years before Iron Man ;)
Transporter made me a huge Audi fan, I remember customizing my A4 in NFS most wanted to look and perform exactly like the A8 in the chase of that movie
You finally decided to review my car! I wished you showed more features like the wiper blades alternating resting position after each wipe, the air suspension's ability to raise and lower the car, and to soften or stiffen the dampers in Comfort and Dynamic mode, the bixenon headlights with cornering lights and adaptive front lighting (they move as you turn the steering wheel), the transmission's sport mode to hold RPM's higher, the amazing 12 speaker sound system, the 22 way adjustable power seats with massage, soft close doors, dual pane glass for sound insulation, headlight washing system, heated wiper fluid nozzles for winter, power folding-auto dimming and heated mirrors, etc, etc... Thank you for reviewing this!
It DOES have a Sport Mode. It says S at the bottom of the drive shift stick, pull back once to enter sport. It also has Dynamic mode, so you can go Sport/Dynamic which will open up the exhaust valves and firm up the suspension making it feel more sporty.
This car is a great example of "Stealth Wealth". You just got a high-paying job and you want a nice luxury car that blends in. Those who know just know, and those who don't will pass it off as another regular car.
@@rahimi4762 If you hadn’t seen this video, would you know honestly what it was if you saw it driving down the road? Unless you’re an Audi enthusiast or know a lot about German cars, I don’t think so. That’s what we mean.
The D3 is such an awesome car. One of my Audis is a D3 S8 V10 and never get tired of it. P.S. You left out one very important thing. This A8 D3 W12 was the first Audi ever to have the single frame grille. In the beginning it was only the W12 version. First when the A8 D3 got a facelift, other engine variants also adapted it.
I owned that car - especially after the Transporter movie came out and he was driving an A8 in it, a lot of us were obsessed with it. It was an amazing car but the reliability was so terrible, I can’t even begin to tell you. It was in the shop once a month - at least. Quarter of the year I was driving a rental because it was in the shop. And with deductibles on insurance, it was extremely expensive to maintain. It had so many features and an equal amount of things to break. It had auto leveling air suspension which broke all the time. The motors on the infotainment screen broke a few times. Auto trunk motor broke. CD changer got stuck. Some engine issues also with oil leaks. It was something every week! Oh - the water issue. The water would collect below the windshield because leaves and whatnot would clog the drain and then it would eventually start coming into the footwell inside the car. That happened a few times. But I loved that car and miss it. But it was a labor of love - super pain in the butt.
@@LawrenceMarkFearon It was a 2005. Not sure, I didn’t buy Audi again after that. Their reliability record continues to be horrible but it’s kinda true for all luxury brands. Like my friend always said, you want reliability, buy a Toyota. I guess don’t buy luxury if you’re poor - is my lesson out of all this. 😅
@@h.h.1266 yes but that was worse than most being in the shop every month. I get the feeling Audi needed more experience after entering this flagship segment.
I had an A6 of this generation at the time. It was new-ish and I was scarcely out of college. There were so many issues with repairs. Mine had the solar panel sunroof option that ran the interior fan, which was a really killer feature I wish automakers would bring back. Since mine had an engine oil pressure problem the dealer could never sort out, I fortunately was able to lemon law it because it started while the car was under warranty and continued during extended warranty. Wound up being an almost free car - I paid gas insurance and we split the difference on depreciation.
I had a B6 VR6 Passat wagon with the 3.6 VR6 (half of this engine) and it was pretty reliable. Loved the engine note as it’s considered by many as the best sounding 6 cylinder. Even tho it says V6 on the engine itself, the car got a single head…it’s basically an inline 6 with weird angled cylinders using one head. The engine itself is very very reliable, the issue is the plastic chain guides that get brittle and break away taking the whole engine with it. It should be changed at 150k miles. Other than that its very reliable and i wouldn’t mind driving two of those engines mated together. There is no room to work on but as i said the only issue seems like chain guides. That passat was one of the best cars i ever had and will definitely get another VR6 car whenever i see one.
Fun facts: 1. The previous version (the D2) was also offered with a W12 2. D2 had an aluminium body as well, so the D3 really wasn’t that special at the time like Doug mentioned 3. D2 was also offered with a long wheelbase 4. Doug states at 17:00 he never drove the “Audi” W12 yet 5 years ago he drove a Phaeton W12 🤷♂️
@@Orangematz Stop trolling. The LS 430 was the top seller in this segment, but had less rear space and was too cookie cutter. Lexus benchmarked Audi and BMW for the 2007 LS 460 L.

Having owned a D3 S8, the D3 was SO far ahead of its time, especially inside. I’ve currently got a manual W8 Passat, I’m waiting for one of those to be reviewed!
I have one which I use to limo, it’s not cheap to run and maintenance costs are significantly high. It’s incredibly comfortable for a whole day’s drive. But Audi back up technical and parts has slipped back recently, so you need to be able to fix and source some parts for it yourself. Doug missed the dvd changer in the boot . Optional glasses to go with the fridge built in . Optional fax machine, tv system with B&O sound system not Bose . Vented seats heated seats , cup holders are not heated . Sat nav on disc . Drivers inbuilt phone with Bluetooth and option for a rear phone . It will do 285km and still accelerate. If you can afford the costs it’s like nothing else . But buy one that’s been maintained

Love my 2005 A8 4.2. Easy to work on, cause its a timing belt engine, air suspension struts not much different to change if it was a normal coil car, electronics last, as long as you clear the sunroof drains. 6hp26fla transmission is also good, if you don't constantly beat on the car. Steal for mint condition at $2200 at 125k miles.
Actually, putting your hand UNDER the door handle unlocks the door, without touching it, IF the system is fully operational. If you need to pull the door handle twice, the cables to the handle are most likely broken like on all of these (repaired several and I have owned 2 A8L W12's a 2006 and a 2008). :) I don't know if that rear door W12 badge is a US feature, but on EU cars it was on the front fenders on 2005-2006 models. 2007-2009 models didn't have it except front and trunklid. I can say, they are great cars, had a 2005 model from 2011-2013 and a 2008 model from 2014 onward. Now at 440000km without any major issues (only front air struts, heater cores, AC compressor and exhaust flex pipes) Have had a few non-car people suspect it is a A4 because it looks so subtle.
I’m amazed at how technically advanced (for the day) this car is and that those gadgets appear to still be working. Kudos to Audi and the owner for building and caring for this car. Some of the tech (solar roof as in the new Merc EQS, keyless entry, and the driver screen) are just now being widespread today. Ok, so Audi may have been trying to keep up with the 12 cylinders in the Jag/Merc/BMW of the time and the A8’s base 4.2L V8 is a solid performer, but the fact that this car came out and is still operational is pretty amazing.
was excited about this review... until I saw Kennan. I'm not too excited about how much the Chernin Group has changed this channel. This is just speculation, but ever since then, it seems like he's included more people on his channel including on weekend uploads (which are fine), but now the duo reviews with Kennan... There are also the shorts that don't even seem like they're made by him, and him suddenly appearing on several other car UA-cam channels to boost his brand. On a side note, I'm sure Kennan is a great person and he's getting somewhat better at reviewing, but we all subscribed for Doug; not this.
I think Doug has his friend here because they're best friends and he's got bank now, so there's next to no risk for him to review cars with his best friend. He likely didn't get much time to spend with friends before selling C&B. Hoovie is also going through a hellish divorce from what I can tell and spending time with Doug might just be nice for both of them.
That was also the vw phaeton's engine. The phaeton also had that solar panel for climate control (amazing to think that in 2004 a VW was more luxurious than Audi's flagship). The first gen A8 also had a lot of aluminum. I remember that cause my uncle had a 95 first gen A8 and he'd mention this all the time.
one of the phaeton's engines; it was also available as a v8. I'd pay hearty dollars for a w12 phaeton just for the quirkiness of it. The a8 w12, not so sure, especially if the s8 v10 from this era is an option.
I actually think the phaeton is a tiny bit more luxurious than the a8 eventho Audi was the premium brand of vw. It’s as if vw wanted to show who is boss with the phaeton.
Gonna have to agree with the general conserus that Doug is a lot better on his own, Kennan seems like a super knowledgable guy and like others have said in the garage videos I think it is great to have someone else for some videos but for the reviews I think it really does change the vibe the reviews have had that a lot of people love.
I own an a8 L w12 from 2016 and I gotta say it's super comfortable , builds up speed smoothly and is just an all around amazing sleeper luxury car , I think generally audis are slept on for some reason but they really are worth it to own .
I think he's fine in the Sunday discussion videos. Just don't see what he adds to the regular reviews. It made _some_ sense in the Ferrari review as he's a Ferrari guy but not here.
I remember when the A8 was redesigned and debuted for the 2004 model year. I was instantly obsessed. To this day, I think it is one of the most beautiful sedans ever made. I rarely see this body style on the road, but when I do, it still turns my head. The solar panel sunroof was amazing. To the best of my knowledge, it circulated air throughout the cabin to keep the interior temperature lower in the hot sun, and it helped keep the battery charged. The only other two vehicles I’ve ever seen that offered a solar panel sunroof are the Toyota Prius and the early 1990s Mazda 929.
The Kennan an Dough debate aside. This was THE car in that time. Such a change, audi still surfs on the succes of this innovation. Still a dream car to this day, hope to drive it once in my life.
I'd love to see solar panels integrated into the roof of vehicles now. I know they won't generate enough for EV's, but to charge laptops, phones, etc, or to help keep the cars battery charged / emergency jumping of some sort, would be pretty cool.
Finally a D3 A8 on the channel. This car’s been overlooked for too long. It’s insanely great for the money. Better than most new luxury cars, they don’t make them like this anymore.
@@Jehowy666 How so? Cheap to repair easy to maintain. got one for $2200, cause guy cut the timing belt and started the engine. I bought it as is, replaced 5 valves, and I've added 10k miles since then with no issues. Well a strut did go out, but that was only $300 and took 15mins to replace. 4.2 BFM is the best engine to get in them.
@@3n3ly7m9 well I would argue that 4.2 BVM is better, especially that basically begs to be chip tuned and then it easily exceeds S8's capabilities while maintaining reliability and relatively low fuel usage. Also I own one so there's additional bias of course
Great car. Great engine, when it's working as it should. Absolute mechanical nightmare, otherwise. If it's not something "easy" (timing assembly, valve cover gaskets, etc.), you might as well junk it. The greatest thing about the A8 W12, is the extra glazing (thicker glass), and extra sound deadening. I love any year A8 prior to air suspension... including the old 'V8 Quattro' precursor.
Doug, this better not be an attempt to introduce someone new to the channel to hand it over, I know you are doing well, but people keep coming back and enjoying your videos because of you and the niche you have reviewing cars.
It’s fascinazing how much Doug got wrong on this one, eventhough it might me just a regional thing. The first true Upmarket Audi used to be the Audi 200 (essentially just an Audi 100, with minor cosmetic differences, and 5 Cylinder Turbo engines+Quattro) Limited by the „No engines with more then 5 Cylinders Embargo for 30 Years“ after VW bought Audi from Mercedes. You might know it from the James Bond Movie „The Living Daylights“ The V8 was essentially just an Audi 200 build on the new „D“ Plattform with A V8 engine in it after the embargo was finally over. But with a different Name to make it even more clear, that it was rocking a V8 engine. It still shared a lot of parts with the Audi 100. After that the D2 Generation was released in 1994. the Predecessor to the Car in the Video. It already had both the Full Aluminum Body and Space Frame (The IAA Mock-Up called „ISF“ is still displayed in the Audi Museum) It was also offered as the Regular A8 and the A8L. You also had the S8 with a 360HP V8 AND you could order it with a 6.0L W12 engine with 420HP. My father actually got one as company Car (he used to work for Audi at that time) The D2 A8 even had sth like a Proto MMI, that essentially works exactly like the D3 version from the Video, but is contained to your typical Double Slot Infotainment device, instead of being fully integrated. The D3 in the Video was nothing special really. It’s only merrit is sharing the Plattform with the Ill fated Phateon and the Continental GT. And being the star of the second and third Transporter Movies of course. The main Focus were the V8 Turbo Diesel Power Plants that were newly designed for this generation. The Design of the D2 was actually a lot more influential then the D3. Especially compared to the offerings of Mercedes, BMW und Lexus of the Time. The D3 even debuted without the Single Frame Grill (and looks 10 times better without it IMO) The only Reason you might feel like the D3 is the „big“ and „important“ Audi is that Audi and VAG were essentially at the absolute Peak of the Auto Industry in the late 2000s and early 2010s with VW even overtaking Toyota as the biggest car manufacturer in the world for a short time. The D2 A8 was also so popular that it almost got a release as a Coupe and even more interesting as a Wagon (The Avantissimo). Both Variants were shown at the IAA and were extremely well received.
@@TVCHLORD if he's doing something like that then this is definitely not the guy, look at the driving part, you can see Doug interrupting him because he was drifting off into being boring constantly.
I see nothing wrong with Kennan. I think he is picking Doug's style and slowly getting there. Let’s not be too harsh on him. Felt a bit random though 🤔 will there be other co-hosts? Or is he staying along with Doug for future videos?
7:10 - That doesn't look like the original first aid kit; but Audi absolutely did intend for first aid kits to go in the rear seat armrest storage. My 2001 A4 (purchased on Cars & Bids!) had a perfectly-fit one in it.
Yeees I've been waiting so long for a d3 video! btw Doug, you don't have to pull the door handle twice to unlock, there is a touch sensor underneath the door handles that unlock the car as soon as you touch it, mine still works on three of the four doors. when the touch sensor stops working you have to pull it twice.
I had a 2009 A8L and it was one of my absolute favorite cars to own. One day ill give into my temptations and buy another one. Absolutely adore these cars and i miss mine every day. Never should have sold it. I have an A8L open in my web browser right now
I own one of these and could never drive it on the road because I imported it from outside of Germany back home. Still in the process after dropping the engine several times because of neglected maintenance. The starter sound alone makes up for the work I put into it though. They also came with rear ventilated seats, Bang & Olufsen, a fridge that’s also powered by the solar roof and a mini bar in the rear center headrest. The exterior aged so well
Plz don't this as criticism of any kind.Kennen is fantastic in garage talk videos. But in reviews, somehow i am not liking him. Reviews are Doug's THING.He mastered this throughout the years. So, i request doug to do reviews by himself and have kennen in other videos
He mastered it through out the years as you said, why not let Kennan have a chance to acquire similar skills over a similar period of time like you afforded Doug? Nobody is perfectly natural and engaging on camera the second they step into frame for the first time. Kennan seems to be more introverted than Doug to start with, so has an even larger hurdle to overcome if he wants to come across as engaging with the audience.
Maybe wh u r saying is right but I don't know man doug does this so masterfully that I don't even want to see anyone else. And this is Doug's channel and not like a publication or something like topgear or autotrader or car and driver where we expect to see new presenters from time to time. So maybe he should continue to do reviews on his own as I said earlier. But this is entirely my opinion though. So each to their own I guess
Always loved these mid 2000s A8s, was seriously considering to get the V8 version, but was scared off by reliabilty. Went with a facelift Merc w220 instead because even though it's not nearly as sexy as the A8, at least the powertrain is relatively bulletproof in the Merc. The Audi 4.2 V8 is a challenge to keep on top off and I imagine the W12 takes it to a whole new level.

I don’t get how Doug reviewing a car with a friend managed to generate so many comments thinking he’s trying to stop being in videos. Although I obviously watch Doug’s channel for his opinion and style, I didn’t have any problem with Kennan’s presentation and I wouldn’t mind seeing him again. Even if Doug is trying to step away from youtube, I’d say he’s earned it by now. I just got this car from my parents since they wanted to upgrade. I never really was in it when I went to visit them, so when I shipped it to me, I keep getting blown away with how nice this is. I've got an 04, but still it is very nice.
This car is constant state of "one repair away from being left under a tree;" you do not buy this car unless you are a certified mechanic and aren't sick enough of working on other people's car and you want to work on your own or you know one of these mechanics personally. Oh, and the reason that D1 & D2 did not really sell is because Audi was recovering from the 1986 unintended acceleration woes that caused their sales to literally tank 80% overnight. They didn't recover their 1986 sales figures till 2001.
In college, I had a really good buddy who had one of these and it was simply the best thing ever, not sure if he watches UA-cam, but shoutout to Eric! - and thanks for selling me your old A4 3.0 6-speed - sorry it's engine broke but I know how to drive manual now thanks to you.
I’d been watching Audi since I was a young auto enthusiast and was really swoon from the A8’s “The Transporter” 2 & 3 debut with Jason Statham. I still watch those movies till this day. Absolute favorites. Frank’s (Jason) utilitarian yet smooth approach matched Audi soooooo well that everyone thought they needed one. I saw a guy recently with the ‘15 TDI version of a later A8. They didn’t change too much design-wise but this ‘05 model still turns heads. If there’s extra pocket money, I may ride one for a year to see what it was like.
@@nelson--mandela you're convincing me😅. I will say, I've actually been lookin at a BMW V12 as everything goes electric. Just to get a taste of the refinement. A bit of an upgrade to my '06 3 series. That A8 TDI is diamond in the rough tbh

There is nothing stealth wealth about Audi- even back then. You need the Phaeton W12 for that.
I like prefacelift alot better.
That's what inspired the Lexus Spindle Grille and large car grilles.
What year did you have and were later models of the generation more reliable?
@@LawrenceMarkFearon It was a 2005. Not sure, I didn’t buy Audi again after that. Their reliability record continues to be horrible but it’s kinda true for all luxury brands. Like my friend always said, you want reliability, buy a Toyota. I guess don’t buy luxury if you’re poor - is my lesson out of all this. 😅
@@h.h.1266 yes but that was worse than most being in the shop every month. I get the feeling Audi needed more experience after entering this flagship segment.
@@h.h.1266 as much as I respect Audi, I think you're better off with a Lexus LS instead of an A8..
Doug please review cars solo as you usually do that's what maybe all of your viewers would love to watch and i mean no disrespect to Kennan
Fun facts:
1. The previous version (the D2) was also offered with a W12
2. D2 had an aluminium body as well, so the D3 really wasn’t that special at the time like Doug mentioned
3. D2 was also offered with a long wheelbase
4. Doug states at 17:00 he never drove the “Audi” W12 yet 5 years ago he drove a Phaeton W12 🤷♂️
5. The 2004-2005 LS430 was a much better car than this. More technology, nicer interior with more features, and very reliable.

Definitely do not ever get rid of that W8 Passat! A true unicorn with a manual transmission.

I don't know if that rear door W12 badge is a US feature, but on EU cars it was on the front fenders on 2005-2006 models. 2007-2009 models didn't have it except front and trunklid.
I can say, they are great cars, had a 2005 model from 2011-2013 and a 2008 model from 2014 onward. Now at 440000km without any major issues (only front air struts, heater cores, AC compressor and exhaust flex pipes)
Have had a few non-car people suspect it is a A4 because it looks so subtle.

That wood rim steering wheel is peak "'04 Rich"!

Succession planning is far from a bad idea
I kinda like the switch up. It’s like the “middle 8” in a song.
Some cars have that. Electric Hyundais, the new Toyota Prius...
Finally a D3 A8 on the channel. This car’s been overlooked for too long. It’s insanely great for the money. Better than most new luxury cars, they don’t make them like this anymore.
There is reason why this a8 can be bought for 4k in europe. Unreliable and expensive to fix.
@@xTurtleOW Expensive to repair, yes. Unreliable… I can disagree from personal experience. Those two things don’t always go hand in hand.
@@Divine_Serpent_Geh They are very unreliable, but thanks to the low price point you can always buy another one to trash around.
100%
It’s fascinazing how much Doug got wrong on this one, eventhough it might me just a regional thing.
The first true Upmarket Audi used to be the Audi 200 (essentially just an Audi 100, with minor cosmetic differences, and 5 Cylinder Turbo engines+Quattro) Limited by the „No engines with more then 5 Cylinders Embargo for 30 Years“ after VW bought Audi from Mercedes.
You might know it from the James Bond Movie „The Living Daylights“
The V8 was essentially just an Audi 200 build on the new „D“ Plattform with A V8 engine in it after the embargo was finally over. But with a different Name to make it even more clear, that it was rocking a V8 engine.
It still shared a lot of parts with the Audi 100.
After that the D2 Generation was released in 1994. the Predecessor to the Car in the Video.
It already had both the Full Aluminum Body and Space Frame (The IAA Mock-Up called „ISF“ is still displayed in the Audi Museum)
It was also offered as the Regular A8 and the A8L.
You also had the S8 with a 360HP V8 AND you could order it with a 6.0L W12 engine with 420HP.
My father actually got one as company Car (he used to work for Audi at that time)
The D2 A8 even had sth like a Proto MMI, that essentially works exactly like the D3 version from the Video, but is contained to your typical Double Slot Infotainment device, instead of being fully integrated.
The D3 even debuted without the Single Frame Grill (and looks 10 times better without it IMO)
The only Reason you might feel like the D3 is the „big“ and „important“ Audi is that Audi and VAG were essentially at the absolute Peak of the Auto Industry in the late 2000s and early 2010s with VW even overtaking Toyota as the biggest car manufacturer in the world for a short time.
The D2 A8 was also so popular that it almost got a release as a Coupe and even more interesting as a Wagon (The Avantissimo). Both Variants were shown at the IAA and were extremely well received.
That a8 is The transporter car. A car that Jason Statham should drive.
He drove it in the second and third movie

7:10 - That doesn't look like the original first aid kit; but Audi absolutely did intend for first aid kits to go in the rear seat armrest storage. My 2001 A4 (purchased on Cars & Bids!) had a perfectly-fit one in it.
This car is amazing. The interior is full of clever hidden compartments and has a great use of space

I’m sure Kennan’s a nice dude but there can be only one Doug. Reviews are much better when it’s just him.

@@AK47Stalin Hard to make them become money pits, if they are well taken care off, they don't have many flaws at all. thats why I have an 05.
@@3n3ly7m9 How many miles do you have
@@AK47Stalin 126k miles when I got it, with a cut timing belt and bent valves. I have it at 137k miles now. There is one I forget where, but it has 438k miles.
Me: Mom, I want a Doug!
Mom: We have a Doug at home
Doug at home:
I sure hope the mental asylum you escaped from finds you soon. Your stupid comments are polluting this channel.
The guy’s made hundreds of car reviews for us to watch for free, built a successful business, and bought his dream car.
What acceleration woes?

In college, I had a really good buddy who had one of these and it was simply the best thing ever, not sure if he watches UA-cam, but shoutout to Eric! - and thanks for selling me your old A4 3.0 6-speed - sorry it's engine broke but I know how to drive manual now thanks to you.
Doug - You can neither franchise nor outsource Dougness. That other dude’s Doug score is a zero out of 1,000 Doug points.
I drive a 14 tdi and love it. Audi box on the roof and tow hitch in the back. Really don't need any other car.
@@nelson--mandela you're convincing me😅. I will say, I've actually been lookin at a BMW V12 as everything goes electric. Just to get a taste of the refinement. A bit of an upgrade to my '06 3 series. That A8 TDI is diamond in the rough tbh
Same here. Such an iconic car
I also fell in love with the Audi ever since Transporter came out love the car 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’ve been in love with the D3 A8 since being introduced to it as a kid through “The Transporter” films.
Remember Doug, most of us subscribed for you and your personality!
Kennan... the type of guy to wave his arms around like he's being attacked by bees when he's talking.
I've got one of these. 268000miles. Phantom black with black interior. Its quick. Quick enough. It does have a sport/dynamic setting. It's written on.
