Nice, simple explanation, I dig it! I’ve always wanted a lid or hood for my 36” Blackstone, and you just made that decision much easier. I’m guessing maybe that lid could also be used for steaming certain foods.
Love the video thank you for the detailed explanation👍🏼 I noticed there is a gap between the back of the hood and the back (wall) of the actual griddle. It looks to be 1-2 inches… is that normal? Does it affect the heating/temps? It seems a bit counterintuitive to have that gap, especially when the hood it comes with completely shuts off air flow from the top. Thanks again!
It will hold in enough heat to help melt cheese. I feel its main purpose is to keep moisture off the griddle surface. Thanks for watching! Smoke on!!!!
I'm wanting to get same 36-inch griddle that already comes with the hood. I bought two 30-inch griddles with hoods for both of my Sons for Christmas while they were on sale at Lowes for $299.00 each. They are $100.00 more now. The 36 is $499 but have been waiting to see if they too might go on sale maybe on President's day next week but so far, they haven't. Probably will have to pay the full price. BTW, I have the exact same Pit Boss smoker you have. They are also a great addition to outdoor cooking especially for brisket & ribs!
The next big bbq related sale will be Memorial Day. I think 🤔 a grill, a griddle, a smoker, a beer, and a good woman. That’s all a man needs. Smoke on!!!
Zach, this is great. I’ve been looking for a good review for this cover. You’ve convinced me. To give you the credit, do you have an Amazon link for the cover for the Blackstone 28” griddle?
Great video. I have one as well. Have you had any issues with yours starting to show signs of wear or rusting? After 1 year mine's starting to look very tired.
No, nothing yet. Not sure about yours, but mine is also covered for the most part. If it gets bad, I would reach out to the manufacturer. They are a family run business. They may be willing to make it right. Thanks for watching my video. If you’re not already, it would be great to have you as a subscriber!
Mine is covered. My grill surface is spot on, but the outside of the grill and the top grill hood are definitely aging faster. Mines about a year old. Griddle surface is great so no real complaints.
I’ve closed it while cooking chicken breasts. It does hold in heat. Hopefully the paint is tuff and not damaged by that. I’m sure it would speed up cheese melting. Not a ton, but it would help. Thanks for watching my video. If you’re not already, it would be great to have you as a subscriber. Thanks!!!
yeah, I understand that. Too many times having to re-season my black top. I had to get the hinged lid. I have several friends that have the lid that sits on top and they have the same problems. It can blow off and then when your not using it you have to find a place for it. Thanks for watching!
Awesome brother 👍
Love from India 🇮🇳
God bless you and your family 😊
Lol, the first minute of this video is exactly what my life has been this past week. This is the lid I’ll get. Thanks for the info and review.
Thanks for watching!

Definitely! It’s a good slow steam. Nothing too fast

Can you cook with it closed? Like melting cheese or steaming.

Does this work with the 36" cover too?
They have covers to fit each size of griddle top. Is that what you are asking?
For a low, low price of 150.00
I never said it was cheap
Or it’s going to get blown off in a storm and you’ll wake up next day or after vacation and find a rusted blackstone.
Bad experience?
Yeap, this week. I am going to modify my aluminum lid to add a hinge this week. Buying this is my fallback plan.
